I'm flying to Kingston this week for the first time in my life. I've never been so excited for a trip before. I'm mixed Jamaican and English and have never had the chance to go to Jamaica until now. I adored my grandparents, they were my best friends and when they moved to England in the late 50s they just brought Jamaica with them - the discipline, the food, the attitude, the Patois, the culture, the music, the dance - they never changed once they got here and we were raised in that culture and environment and I'm SO proud of it and glad they did. I feel like i'm going home even though i've never been! My eyes keep water with happiness!
