there’s this project called Nostalgia ‘09 which is even more 1:1 than this. i recommend you check it out! it restores many things like the initial setup, the login screen and security option screen, the libraries in explorer, all the themes and colors, all aeroglass is 1:1, everything is very accurate its the most 1:1 mod and it’ll be out hopefully by the end of this month

There is a simple fix for the black taskbar, you just have to change the personalization color for something else than the default and then change it back

Windows 7 in 2024 can still be safe to use by installing security software and Waterfox or a browser that supports it still. I bought an emachine with Windows 7 Home Premium for casual use and so far no issues just to give you a heads up. Nobody is stopping us from using it or running experimentation on it maybe in the future security software can start helping with patching up security vulnerabilities it's basically the same thing what Microsoft has been doing for the past decade is allowing security software to make patch updates so why can't security software do the same in the future of Windows instead of Microsoft doing it this time it will be the security provider you choose that will do it wouldn't that be genius?

I've seen a few other people say this, but I wouldn't really put my trust on Tiny 10. Instead if you want a Windows 7 looking system you should use some linux distro snd customise KDE Plasma to look like Windows 7.
ImSwordQueen 10to7, Revert8Plus and Reloaded7 are much more accurate and reliable options. Reloaded7 especially shines in the fact that it uses LTSC 2021 instead of a debloated Windows 10 build
I already have my desktop as a perfect Windows 7 desktop with much better compatibility and I didn't need to download potential info stealers. I also have another desktop that looks exactly like XP and both have the correct transparency, taskbar and it's icons and notification bubbles. Common Linux W.
Won't this break the system even further with too much 3rd party customizations? It might become a lot unstable. A safer option should be to use Linux and customize it to be like Windows 7. It won't be 100% failsafe but it'll be times more stable than Windows itself....

Slight note about Windhawk since it kinda annoyed me: It's not a UWP app but rather just an Electron app (also based off of Visual Studio Code!), it recreates the window topbar instead of using the one provided by Windows, and thus makes it look like the topbar from Windows 10
honestly, even as the dev your not wrong. It's very inaccurate although I fixed most of the inaccuracies in newer versions and such but I think it could be much better if I put more time into it. I'm mostly just doing this as a passion project though so yk

So basically it's a debloated Win10 with StartIsBack and a tweaker application. StartAllBack is doing a LOT of heavy lifting here.

Windows 7 UI is super fast and responsive. I wish the Windows 11 could somehow inherit from that.

The taskbar looked a Lil bit darker but it won't matter much in the bigger picture.. great work done by modders :)

No, Tiny10 is based on the Retail SKU. Last I checked it was based on 22H2 and you couldn't update it with anything, even security patches.
On the new version, it is on this version. It’s just tiny 10.
