How to use Gas/Smoke sensor with Arduino | Gas leak alarm system

- In this video we are going to learn how to use MQ2 Gas-Smoke Sensor with Arduino so that we can detect presence of gas/smoke in air and take some action.
We will make gas leak alarm system to turn on buzzer.

Can i use same code for ms 1100 voc sensor to turn on buzzer using Arduino after certain concentration of these voc.?
Note - volatile organic compounds such as formaldehyde, benzene, xylene etc

What type and size og jumper wire are you using?

It was used for demo purpose . You can use any power supply . But don’t use non rechargeable battery .

It’s passive buzzer
What to do if I want to put the sensor inside a storage tank like a tire?
You can create a PCB and use that .

Can we exclude the battery?
Yes you can . Use ac dc adapter instead of battery .
I have a question is it normal for the sensor to smell??
Nope it’s not normal. May be your sensor is burnt . Please check .
I have had moments when multiple sensors had a weird smell and got hot, more experienced people said its fine so i trust them lol

I have not tried it . However it should also work if output is same format 👍🏻👏🏻
Does it also work with a mq-4 ?
If MQ4 sensor has analog or digital output pin then it will work 👍🏻 please check it

Why we are using (sensorvalue>200)
This sensor gives range of analog values. So I used 200 as an example value . You can check what different values it gives by printing on serial monitor and use that . 👍🏻👏🏻 200 worked for me to detect gas 👍🏻
