It's so sad how stressful the nyc subway is to take. I was just in nyc in December and it was so gross and I was always nervous. At one point, some man was on the ground just vomiting... I've taken subways all over the world and nyc subways are the absolute worst. I don't understand why they cost so much, but they are so run down, dirty, full of violence and unsafe. I hope you don't have to travel too far to work. But yay for alternatives! aka scooter!

Congratulations on being featured in apartment therapy. I’ve used command hooks on the side of my night stand to help with chords that dangle ie phone charger. You could probably add one to the back of your nightstand closer to the leg and run the chord up that way to help hide it and wrap around the command hook. I also put a cookie sheet under my Pyrex dishes or ramekins just in case they overflow, I hate cleaning the oven.

Second, I'm sorry to hear you feel unsafe taking the train, and I was wondering if you would ever speak on how you feel navigating the city these days. I feel many NYC influencers tend to glamorize NYC life, but it seems you grew up in the area with your family so I would be interested in hearing how ya'll felt growing up vs. safety as of late. I think you have a unique perspective as a woman of color and it's a topic I think people would tune in for. Either way, happy to hear your year is starting off great!

I feel ya! Public transportation is no joke... The trains in DMV area have been anxiety provoking for me as well. It's the stopping in the tunnels for me. But God is helping me. I don't like enclosed places. I am learning to get over being claustrophobic with the Lord's help. I hope you are able to deal with your anxiety as well with His help🙏🏿
Wow, I'm anxious to see the photo/video from Apartment Therapy...Congratulations! You had mentioned the cords under your bedside table, I have a easy fix. Buy a couple extra large command strips and loop the cord around the hook on the underside/bottom of the table. Depending on how many cords you have you may need to purchase several. It worked for me, I did use a small piece of duck tape because one command strip wasn't adhesive. Good Luck!

Great organization it's hard in small spaces, especially when you have lots of clothing, shoes, and accessories. I been thinking about visiting New York I just can't ride the subway either trying to find a area to stay I can walk to everything I have bad anxiety I just can't do it either I could never live in New York love everything the city offers just to crowded and to small spaces.

Baking hack: put your ramekins on a pan like a cookie sheet or something like that so they don't overflow and dirty up you oven when you bake them.
