  • Antisocial Personality Disorder belongs in a class of conditions manifest by dramatic, emotional and unpredictable behavior. Once referred to as psychopaths or sociopaths, the exact boundaries of each of these conditions remains under review.
Individuals with the Antisocial Personality Disorder are manipulative, seductive, glib, and deceitful. They are dishonest, callus, lack remorse or guilt, become nasty or vengeful in response to minor slights may be aggressive or sadistic. Anger frequently is manifest. They fail to honor their financial obligations or commitments, act impulsively without considering the possible effects and engage in risky behaviors.
People with Antisocial Personality Disorder frequently become bored and irritated, lack empathy, appear incapable of sustained intimate relationships, dominate others, seek personal gratification, may perform violent or illegal activities, are irritable and egocentric. They lie without guilt or remorse and manipulate others for personal gain.
Men are more frequently affected than women by a factor of 3-5 fold. Diagnosis is restricted to adults. During the childhood years, Conduct Disorder presages the later development of Antisocial Personality Disorder.
These individuals appear at heightened risk for accidents, traumatic injuries, suicide and infectious diseases including hepatitis C and HIV.
Treatment for the Antisocial Personality Disorder remains inadequate. Some therapies may assist in the wide array of other psychiatric disorders that often accompany this disorder. These include bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, depression, anxiety and substance use. Narcissistic Personality Disorder shares some symptoms with the Antisocial Personality Disorder.

my brothers wife is a psychopath. their family lives next door to me and my elderly parents. she used to be in charge of sending over my mothers medication. i found out she wasnt sending over the seroquel because she thought it would be funny if grandma went crazy. i figured out she was a psychopath when i was talking to her on the phone and heard the complete lack of empathy in her voice. she somehow brainwashed my 50 yr old brother to act like a slave/mean dog. he cant even have a proper conversation with me without yelling and talking trash to me. if i have my mom call him up he sounds like a zombie devoid of emotion. it's so weird i want to help my brother but dont know how.

Sorry, I don't buy your argument. There is no argument that a lot of convicted felons claim that APD made them do what they did. Where is the science to prove their claims and why wasn't that accepted in court?
Watch the video again: it's mentioned that not even the experts can agree on how to define APD. We are clearly not talking about the extreme cases of APD, which are the ones that land somebody in prison. We don't even know where to draw the line on the sand.

If you are a SME, and you know what you’re talking about, then you've just added the soul part to his video. It follows that the video wasn't thorough to begin with. If that’s not true, and the video is in fact thorough, then what you said is nonsense.
However, he clearly said in the beginning of the video that the experts, who are supposed to define this disorder, don't know how to do it themselves and keep changing the goal post...
Therefore, even if you're an SME, you don't know what you're talking about.
Your comment makes absolutely no sense.

most of the time you just live life acting as if everyone else has an issue with their mind. You always wonder why you dont mesh with others, but you also dont even try, its a my way or the highway/ i dont really care about you or your feelings. Hearing you have a pd kinda puts things together and makes sense, makes you look back in childhood and early adulthood and see a lighbulb. To be fair most people with aspd dont intentionally go out and malicously hurt others, theres the capibility to do so if they are wronged, but most of my fights were based on impulse and agression. I dont feel bad hurting someone though, they just should of not gotten in my way. I was a pretty bad kid, i dabbled with some animal cruelty but didnt kill them, now i regret it though, i wont hurt an animal only a person I was young and angry and my anger usually took another level than most. I use to bully others and get in trouble alot for it and I was always kinda mean and cold hearted as far as I could remember. I left my brother for dead when i was 10 years old, i locked him in a tool chest and was walked away. I shoplifted for a good 5 years and was really good at comitting crimes, mostly theft and assault, I was always lucky and not got arrested because the person didnt call the police or I just ran away unnoticed. I hate kids with a passion and happy people always make me suspicious of their intent. Overall I am a pretty comedic person, life of the party loves to do fun things and always hanging out with friends, issues with alcohol, but I still drink cause I love to have fun. I came from a family where I was neglected in every aspect and my mother was also a heartless bitch so it makes sense, but overall Im kinda just misunderstood and I feel half human basically if that makes sense🤷🏻‍♀️

I thought that Antisocial Personality Disorder was simply the modern term for psychopathy. Interesting, that they seem to be considered two separate conditions by many people. Personally, I've always assumed that APD exists on a spectrum like, well, pretty much everything else seems to, ranging from the coworker who seems to lie a lot and is always maneuvering to take credit for things they didn't do, all the way up to Hannibal Lector. That makes more sense to me. Great video.
