@@Captain_Tool_VicariousOh yes! But what also made G1 Megatron one of my favorite villains of all time, despite how intimidating he could be, was surprisingly also how charming, patient, calm and cunning he would act at times. In real life, those kinds of people are the most dangerous of all (as they’re very hard to catch), who you should avoid as much as possible. Here, while I still love how Frank Welker sounds now (very smokey!), I can’t imagine this alternate version of G1 Megatron to be as patient or as calm when he needs to be. I've probably said this 100 times now, but hearing Peter Cullen voice IronHide after all these years is the most nostalgic feeling. He is meant to be Prime, but IronHide has been so many other actors, it's nice to hear him again!
Yeah, i get that it should be free for everyone, but those who went to see it in the theater had to pay for it, this is free. But it'll be nice to see it again at home.

Mr. Frank Welker is killing it as always! I like how his Megatron in this read is somewhere between the Prime and G1 iteration. A very unique blend of the two.
It’s interesting to think that they’re two different voices, and that he can just pick his G1 version back up again. Somewhat unrelated, but I think G1 Megatron has my favorite maniacal laugh of all time. I don’t get how Frank Welker can laugh so *rapidly*-it’s like machine gun laughter.
5:43 I love how Todoro drew back when Welker snapped at his character. They were eyeing each other too while talking. They def had great chemistry which is why both Megs and Star were always my favorites. They might not like me saying this but Megs and Star elevate each other in terms of entertainment value (not so much in what they try to achieve lol). 11:11 And when Megs says “Use your imagination”, in the original episode, he sounded annoyed, but here, Welker says it in a smiling, mocking way. Love that too!
It’s strange how for 2 decades after G1, the new shows and video game Starscreams sounded Nothing like the original, even when they marketed they would. It’s nice to see (and Hear!) the recent voice actors are finally sounding like Starscream. Frank Todaro nailed it as Starscream and Wheeljack. Thank you Frank T!!!
I would have preferred they use Tom Kenny, who did Starscream in Transformers Animated and sounded similar to Chris Latta’s Starscream. Tomato didn’t have the right pitch/shrillness in his voice and his Wheeljack sounded off
There may be a tear in my eye watching this. Frank Welker is the sole owner and proprietor of Megatron, and will be nigh impossible to replace once the time comes.
Everyone always talks about how iconic Cullen's Prime is (and it is true of course), but with everyone trying their best to be like the original voices you cant help but be impressed... in many ways these characters are the voices! This is certainly a treat that not many fandoms get.
I love how Peter's performance sounds like an inbetween of his live action/Prime and G1 incarnations. It has the liveliness of his G1 voice, but the gruffness and age of his live action voice.
Everyone’s rightfully praising Kinchen and Todaro for seamlessly slipping into the group with some excellent impressions that they made their own, but I also have to give props to Berger and Eiding being complete bros. Their characters aren’t even in this episode and they’re helping to cover, mostly for other actors who are no longer with us.
probably the best experience of this table read was hearing Peter Cullen's more modern Optimus Prime voice. In case you were wondering, when Peter did Optimus' voice for the first 2 seasons, he played him with a more jovial, youthful/heartfelt tone, emphasizing a more father-like figure. It wasn't until the 1986 movie that they revamp optimus' character to be more stoic and leader like with a more serious voice that we all know today. So, seeing him now use that voice in the first episode is such a novelty. I can express how cool it was hearing him.

Michael Bay did the best he can and the movies was successful in reviving the dying franchise by bringing new fans and money. While I love G1, it is a fact that it is impossible to do a live-action movie with this version. From the story to the designs, they just aren't fit to the live-action format. The live-action movie can't focus on the Transformers because the cost for the CGIs is just too expensive. They would run out of money just for making 10 minutes of the movie. The G1 designs aren't suited in live-action. They would look like awful fake plastic toys like in the Bumblebee movie and Rise of the Beast. Bayverse designs are the best for the live-action movies. They actually look like metallic alien robots. G1 designs are best suited for animated cartoons and comics.
