      @@TheStizzel Not really, 'success' may not be the right word here but you're indeed defined by the daily actions you take for eg. sleep, eat, exercise etc. I don't see how that's bullshit. Your life is a reality not a story where everything is changed by one defining moment. Hell, even that one defining moment is most likely a result of the culmination of all the little consequent things which you do daily in the past several years. The best examples would be divorce. That wouldn't be a defining moment if you didn't ignore all the little things with your partner. Same thing can be said to most health and financial problems too.

    Summarizations:
    1. Compound interest -small steps consistently give the greatest growth
    2. Owning 💯- The Brain overestimates the time it takes for small tasks; do it now! Do not wait. No excuses.
    3. Small Easy Choices- “Kai Zen”, small improvements over an extended period.
    4. Law of Attraction- Helps brain identify what to pay attention to and what to filter out.
    5. Garbage in, Garage Out- you become what you consistently do, eat, see, hear, hang around. Choose wisely.

    I can recollect two more key ideas from the book which might be helpful for people on the path of self-discovery and improvement:
    1. Moments of Truth - To keep moving on during those moments when we are pushed against the wall. Darren talks about multiplying your results by implementing this principle.
    2. Do it better than the norm - Whenever on a job try to do it better than you would have actually done it. Through this principle, Darren states that this is way by which we can standout from the average.
    In addition to the above, try to keep moving forward in those tough conditions for when your competitor will find it hard to progress

    idk it's me or something but after couple of years you start to see how your books change you. The best way to see it look at friends you hangout maybe you even changed friends you hangout because you realized that old friends do not want to improve their life. You want to communicate with more open minded people not with robots who does nothing in their life.

      If you want to change its best to avoid youtube in general. It's feedback loop algo to determine how to best pick up your attention can kill lots of your time.
      Read just a few books, dont try to read too fast to maximize your readings cause that will amount to nothing in terms of effective change and you'll also forget everything. Instead, focus on a few books and put it into execution. Best way to change your life is by avoiding motivational videos, they just suck up your time.

    Nice work. I have a question though. I'm wondering if I am doing something wrong. If I take a penny and double it each day for 31 days, is this not the same as 2^31? I get $21,474,836.48 and not $5.3 million. What am I missing?

    • @NicholasPatey
      @NicholasPatey 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      doubling a penny for 29 days gives me $5,368,709.12
      Sorry I know that this is besides the point that you were making.

    • @NicholasPatey
      @NicholasPatey 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I figured it out. I made the mistake of doing 2^31. When I should have done 2^30 if we are talking about 31 days. Because there is no doubling on the first day if the story is talking about 31 days.
      Now if the story was talking about 30 days, then we would do 2^29. This gives us 5.3 million. So you only need to change the number of days that the scenario has then your math will be correct.
