How steady are the timing marks when you use the dial back feature of it? I've got a timing light with a rotary dial and when I use that feature of the timing light, I've noticed on several cars the timing marks bounce around 2-4 degrees randomly. Just ordered one of these.
Looks like it should work, but the process is a little different. This thread seems to explain it the best, but please do your own research as well www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/70359-setting-base-timing-on-rb25det/
One thing I forgot to mention is you want to have the vacuum advance disconnected for initial timing. I had it disconnected at the carb
I have one on order.
The reason I got the tac version, is that you can adjust your carburettor idle speed to spec as well.
Thanks for the review! Just ordered it
Nice! What are you working on?

Honestly I don’t have enough experience with it to have an answer, maybe someone else will chime in
@@DaysofPainandVictory I wound up getting mine a couple days ago and used it for a centrifugal advance recurve, worked fantastic.
You didn’t disconnect the vacuum advance
pretty sure I had it disconnected from the front of the carb, just forgot to mention it. Thanks for pointing that out though!
I'm trying to check the timing on a 98 civic. Do I have to attach the dwell green clip to anything?
I'm not sure, I don't really know much about imports
What about if I have coils .. I have a rb25det motor and have splitfire coils

I'm not super in tune( no pun intended) but I thought the vacuum should be disconnected.
Yeah for initial timing, I had it disconnected at the carb
Isnt this engine misfiring big time?
no its got a much bigger cam than stock which gives it that lopey idle
Why am I not financially free?
Well since you’re watching this video you’re probably into cars, that might be the issue
@@DaysofPainandVictory It's in response to the ad at the beginning of the video.
