Agreed, when I first heard it I was just getting into hardcore punk and I remember being completely blown away by the intensity, lyrics hit home as well I know so many people who took the wrong turn in life
Best band ever! I have been listening to them since 1989, went to see them several times in Buffalo, NY back then. Any time I feel like shit or in a bad mood, I just put on one of their CD's and instantly feel better.
Sick of It All is an American hardcore punk band, from Queens, New York, formed in 1986. Founded by brothers Lou Koller (vocals) and Pete Koller (guitar), Armand Majidi (drums) and Rich Cipriano (bass). They have been known to be a major part of the New York hardcore scene. The band was formed during the era of the major hardcore decline, when many pioneering hardcore bands including Black Flag and Minor Threat disbanded. -wiki
I can never express, how much I love you guys. This is so kickass. NY scene forever, man! Bands that will always remain same. Sure I will see you in the summer. THEY WERE LIKE BROTHERS CAUSE WE ALL FELT THE SAME!!!
I was into death/trash etc. for many, many years, but SOIA, Madball, AF and the rest of NYHC scene made me a die hard Hardcore fan. That's what I've been searching for most of my life!
its just a great record... again! this guys know the deal, they know how to play, they know how to be a great band. come on, scream it. new york hardcore!!!
"From afar bleak reports trickle in, but The world has spread apart, the world has spread apart All the promise that was held now is wasted The soul is delicate, the walls have crippled it From afar troubled lives lose their purpose The world has given up, the world has given up The world has finally forsaken its sons" (2:18 - 2:49) This part is pure eargasm! Lou Koller is such a big influence & idol for me (&I guess not only for me :D)! Fromt the S to the O to the I to the fuckin' A - true NYHC
The reason that its hard for noobs to distinguish between hc punk and metal is because there has been so much cross pollination over the years. Metal owes a lot to hardcore and more recently vice versa. For instance mosh pits came from hardcore not metal, shouted aggressive vocals also came from hc. Early metal bands used clean singing but adopted shouted styles after being influenced by early hardcore. Modern hardcore in turn is very metallic sounding with almost a Pantera-like groove but if you listen there are still plenty of punk riffs which distinguish them from metal bands.
There are a lot of different HC styles these days too- There is HC Punk, which is greatly influenced by Oi. HC Punk is closer to SOIA's sound (the exemplary HC punk record, in my opinion is Rancid's Skull Cover S/T, though for SIOA, the most HC Punk was Potential For a A Fall. That HC Punk sound is all over the Worldwide Tribute to the Real Oi! 1 and 2), Old School Warzone was totally HC Punk. Then there is straight up HC, which is more metal sounding- It's the Sound Agnostic Front picked up starting with Cause for Alarm (though Something's Gotta Give Riot Riot Upstart and Dead Yuppies were all punk records, straight up). And then there is some pretty melodic stuff which goes a LOT further away from metal. A lot of the Stuff on Fat Wreck Chords, esp their Fat Music comps fits this category I think new folks just don't listen to a lot of HC anymore. They call metal bands, who take their cures from the rap-rock groups like Limp Biskit and Korn and Linkin Park "punk" and that just ain't so- Any band on the radio doing what people call "punk" is actually playing thrash metal. Punk, and esp HC Punk is underground, even today.
people who aren't hardcore will say stupid shit about it, sick of it all,and all the older bands are still kicking ass, hardcore isn't dead, its resurected, old school, passing the torch to the new school, been around 20 plus years myself, and hardcore has become important, and big again. Maybe dead to some of you but as rabies said,we'll never die.
bro hardcore died back in the mid 80s when minor threat split. anybody who knows hardcore knows that and will say what i just said. minor threat was the heart of hardcore and when they split, hardcore died with them.
hardcore just died for you...that's the dumbest shit i've never heard before because people that think that left the scene because styles changed but it would have died if it remained the same
you sound like Donald Trump trying to prove he is worthy. I lived those good old days too you don't know a thing about me but it's pretty funny to read all of your comments you seem to post on a video you think is garbage. You speak like a five year old, but i know your near 40 and still dumb AS Fuck. Sounds like you want clobbering time.... give up on the posting since you gave up on hardcore after Minor Threat, besides you probably got Pokemon to find

I remember the first sick of it all album I ever heard. I traded a bootleg cassette tape of the crass for a copy of blood, sweat and no tears. The 80's. Awww.
I love metal AND hardcore, i think it is logical that i SHOULD enjoy the product of the two blended together. In a perfect world - Metal + Hardcore = Honest and brutal music from the heart In the real world - Metal + Hardcore = Suicide Silence, BFMV and Emo kids screaming
Saw 'em ramdomly on Roskilde'10. A real fan came to me and asked:" Oh so you like Hardcore?" I was like, well, metal is cool, as long as it ain't punk. -"It kinda is" he replied." I was like fffffffffuuuuuuuu"They started playing" KING(!) AWSOME!!!
@EvilWeavaloid Its kinda wierd to see them in this new style beautiful HD video when youre used to all the old school 90s vids. I guess I know what you mean but I still love this one too.
This has to be one of the heaviest punk songs ever created. Musically and lyrically. The message hits so hard I can feel it.

One of the greatest bands ever, a class of it's own. You can't go wrong with this band, it's still hardcore as it should be.

Wow, dude, you're pretty full of hate, huh. Does that make you feel like a big man?
there's no 'noobs' or any need to distinguish anything , it just sucks balls.
