I wish they'd included more of the Captain Cully scene from the book, just to get the point across that he's a Robin Hood wannabe - it's some of the funniest bits of writing, and we don't see enough of Cully's pretentiousness. "No offense Captain, but we'r really not that merry, when all's said." Cully: "I'm merry 24 hours a day!"
So does this mean this takes place like 100 years after Robin Hood in 1280 England when they were colonizing Scotland? How the hell is there, Wizards, Unicorns, Dragons and Red Bulls then and is Haggard friend or foe to other factions in the world? How far does his power reign?
I find this to be so sweet and sad at the same time. Sweet and charming in the beginning when Robinhood and them show up but sad when the band of misfits tried to go after them/wanting to go with them. I especially feel sorry for the blonde haired girl!
sierra stanley You're right, i too kinda felt bad for Cully's men, i mean they thought they were meeting their idols, but sadly for them it was all just an illusion.
I remember when I was younger feeling so bad for the blonde dulcimer player being tsssked at and teased. Also thinking that the women in the pink dress was absolutely beautiful. Aha. Also the music that is used through out the scene as a whole is quite breathtaking. "Magic do as you will" notes are superb. By far my favourite part of the film.
Yet it's proof that they still had hopes, a desire to truly BE their idols and not just brigands and backstabbers. Given the chance, they hopped on it!
Anybody else find it weird that the guy was able to get schmendrick out of the tree just by pulling in his hat? I mean the hat fell off when he was fighting Ruhk, so even if it didn't fall off when Schmendrick hung upside down, the guy would have pulled it off, without schmendrick, unless he got startled and lost his balance.
How do you feel about the Rat Burgers in Demolition Man? Stallone in that movie tried it and said "It's the best burger i had in years" when he went to the Scraps hideout.
It's a good story but the animation style has always been off-putting for me. If it had a more restrained, less caricaturish animation style I'd probably have watched it much sooner.
This scene is historic, beautifully animated and filled with characters from centuries past.
“Have a taco 🌮!”- well, that’s ……different
There was a guy there who had a sombrero-like hat, maybe he introduced his gang to tacos lol.
"...have a taco."

@@jackbuchanan9085 It's a fairytale, it doesn't have to happen in any specific time or place.
@@jackbuchanan9085 Cully literally offers Schmendrick a taco in this scene. I think it's safe to say these anachronisms were put there on purpose.

"Robin Hood is a legend, the heroic outlaw".

They taunted him and teased him?
I agree she is beautiful even if she is an illusion made by everyone's favorite bumbling Wizard
When he stood up to play they all made fun
LegendofStorms
Oh i see, he's like Arthur from Sword in the Stone.
I kinda feel bad for Molly and Culley's men, here they thought they were meeting their idols but sadly for them it was all just an illusion.
Yet it's proof that they still had hopes, a desire to truly BE their idols and not just brigands and backstabbers. Given the chance, they hopped on it!
Molly annoyed me
One of the most amusing scenes in the whole movie in my opinion.
That tree looks like all manner of bad things that a person may or may not enjoy being tied up to.
"Have a taco"
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I Know Right? That's What I Thought Too! Did They Even Have Tacos Back Then?
It's a fairy tale. It doesn't take place in any specific time.
This has to take place in Europe
0:50 🐭 🍲
4:50 I think Schmendrick find this funny but he won’t be laughing afterwards because he’s crazy he’s playing a dangerous game
I can't believe other people ever watched this. I thought I was the only kid who saw this
this movie's as old as I am. I'm 36 in a few days
I'm 37 and came out the year i was born and a great year for movies eh?
RIP Alan Arkin
Magic Do As You Will 🪄🔮

I think he pulled on his sleeve. :)
I still don’t like how Schmendrick was tied to the tree 😳
me neither, why the fuck is he tied like this is bondage vid?
Look up the next scene when the tree "wakes up." It gets worse for Shmedrick. Or better? Depending on who you are, I suppose.
Ahhhh. Good ol Keenan Wynn.
😔RIP Aloysius James Jeremiah Wynn (1916-1986), deceased son of late Ed Wynn (1886-1966) and Hilda Keenan (1891-1940).
I honestly don't remember this scene in the movie.
Rat Soup! 🤢
How do you feel about the Rat Burgers in Demolition Man? Stallone in that movie tried it and said "It's the best burger i had in years" when he went to the Scraps hideout.
I wonder what rat soup taste like?
Like chicken?
+Johnlindsey289 Disappointment
What about a Rat Burger like in Demolition Man? afterall Stallone's character did said "it's the best burger I had in years"
Probably like a Rat Burger!
Beef broth.
I take Robin Hood over captain Cully anyday Cause what has Cully done that Robin has not.
Maybe or maybe not 2:10
Was the whole movie like this? I can barely hear what they're saying cause
the music is so loud
