Every time. Every dammed time I see a 5th gen I can’t help but comment on how much cooler they are than every other mecha I’ve seen. The movin parts, the inhuman proportions, the reasonable scale, the hidden utilities, the junkyard truck aesthetic. I love my dumpster cores so much.
i enjoy the sleek aesthetics of the other games but 5th gen went hard. nothing beats having the mechanical parts slamming into place with full force before locking in
supposedly they've started hiring for something armored core related, and there was something else a couple months back iirc. I think we'll get an announcement around the end of the year
There’s definitely going to be a new Armored Core something. AC6 was a huge success for FromSoft and the mechanics genre. Now if only Bandai Namco had enough sense to make a good Gundam game

A single chaff gun doesn’t compete with all the recon variants, flashbangs, PA molders, AA boosters, additional thrusters, uav, physical AP shields, relation missiles, ready weapons, Overed Equipment, and not to mention the fine tuning of individual weapons and pieces in 4th and 5th gen. I really like 6, but it feels really dumbed down in a lot of ways, and that’s before my enraged screaming about how awful the stagger system is for multiplayer. I just want my mech to feel like a dammed robot, not some dude made of metal who gets winded and has schroedingers(definitely misspelled) armor that exists until he needs to catch his breath and he absorbs bullets like an American school child.

Even leg movement doesn't feel real compared to 4 or 5 era due to lack of sudden cam shake on every footstep. like the story tho, that one feels like ACFA + ACVD
@@jupiterbjy The guy FromSoft put in charge of AC VI was the same guy who worked on Sekiro and he's directly responsible for all of AC VI's most controversial features: Stagger, Hard Lock, Ricochet and Assault Boost. I don't think he was the right man for the job, I don't think he really respected Armored Core as a third-person shooter, he went to pains to try and twist it into the kind of beat-em-up he normally works on.

NORMAL dont run on Kojima particles. 5th gen is also AC but instead of NEXT its NORMAL. 5th gen is contuniation of 4th gen. There are no MT in 5th gen, AC is varied in that game. To give you an example of NEXT in 6 analogy. Walter piloted HAL. HAL is an AC but because it run on Coral, it also part of IBIS series of C-Weapon machine. Thats is the case for NEXT. An AC that run on KP instead of fuel cell or something. Of course there's different between the two but that the closest analogy I can think of. Also 5th gen gameplay actually good. It just skill issues literally and singleplayer as a 2nd thought.

It's a bit long though. 6 have general term for those that use Coral. It's called C-Weapon. C-Weapon can be AC, MT and even glorified turret. IBIS series is part of C-Weapon. Ephemera is an AC that is C-Weapon but not an IBIS Series while HAL is an AC that is part of IBIS series and also fall under the umbrella of C-Weapon. For how C- Weapon in lore are (not gameplay). Think of it like this, say you have Rusty Steel Haze and you put on Coral generator. It will not be C-Weapon despite running coral gen. To be a C-Weapon, the parts themselves must be created to work with Coral generator in mind and created by RRI. @agentoranj5858 Yeah, that's what I hate the most. It's so annoying that I have to switch between scan/Combat mode to reduce energy usage. It's annoying, yet necessary to fight against hard enemies and bosses. (And I really hate that "Energy at 50%" warning thing, too distracting.)

God I love ACVD's weapon arms, the transformation is always so satisfying to see and the detail is top notch. Sad that official console servers are down.
Remember what ftomsoft took from us ravens. Probably didn't add weapon arms on top of all the other things they left out because they knew the souls rats would complain too much.

And, using that knowledge, they have begun to restart that very legacy that was outclassed by the Souls games, starting with a very basic base game that I do hope gets updated. As a Souls fan who has only seen a fraction of what the game has, it’d be interesting to have the slower-paced gameplay of AC6 paired with the wild weapons of yesteryear.
And then there are those of us who love both sides of From. Got into Armored Core during 3rd gen, and have been playing since Demon's Souls so far as Soulsborne is concerned. I missed AC desperately during the post VD dry spell, but it's understandable that From'd follow the money given they're a business first and foremost.
What i loved about armored core was the weapon readying and storing animations, AC4/AC4A had some cool basic ones with back weapons folding back and some cool core expanding when over boosting. AC5/AC5V had the super weapons and some legs that extended out when bracing a heavy weapon. AC6 had some awesome ass weapon reloading/cooling and core expansion when assault boosting or using your abilities(assault mode, assault armor) there are actually different stowing animations for weapons if you're NOT in combat(mission is over or mission is starting).
Why does nobody animate the walk cycles as if there's literally any mass to it. Walking involves swaying your centre mass, not just moving legs back and forth.

Armored Core V is underrated in terms of mechanical design despite the clunky gameplay.
I think the gameplay is the best AC has ever seen. Squad and objective based multiplayer with highly customizable death machines is my jam

To be honest if you don't look carefully during battle, it might be the wrong enemy to fight when it finally reveals its saws.
