Schmedly Whiplash its been hit or miss down in the village. Usually early or late is ok but most of the day they just trickle in one or two at a time. Today was weird though, Morning was slow and it started picking up around noon.
shane bussell it’s a Riversider 8wt. Since finesse isn’t really needed for fishing these, and I see a lot of expensive rods get broken each year, I carry these rods for Salmon fishing. $60-70 for the rod hurts the bank a lot less if it breaks than replacing a $800 G. Loom to finish the Season.
shane bussell it isn’t as sensitive as an expensive rod, but they get the job done, I haven’t had an issue feeling the fish or my split shot ticking along the bottom. I’ve caught Chinook (King) Salmon, Coho Salmon and Steelhead with mine over the past 3 years I’ve had it without issue. It’s not a great casting rod in terms of accuracy, but you’re not doing precision casts for Salmon anyways for the most part.
@@gregfishes6262 awesome thanks for the info. I.ordered a cabelas 8wt rod last week and it came in today and was broken and felt cheap so I'm returning it and bought the rod your using. I don't go up to pulaski till Oct 5th till the 12th. I wish I lived closer id be there all the time

Hello from Kumbo Fishing USA says it good video. That's King Salmon took you for a ride down the river.
That’s how they fight when they get snagged in a fin.
Cool man! Nice job! Was up river towards Altmar. Pretty slow this past week up there!😀
