    ►2014 Bigfoot 10.4 Truck Camper - We got our 2014 Bigfoot 10.4 in August 2021 from RVOne near Charlotte, NC. Todd was headed to buy a brand new Bigfoot 10.4 just before we got the Lance 975 but when he got to Southland RV, it was sold. That's when we decided to go to the Lance 975. We knew at some point in the future we'd have a Bigfoot again and here it is.
    ►2021 Lance 975 - We got our new 2021 Lance 975 from Chattanooga Fish n Fun in Hixson, TN in August 2020. After looking at several models, we decided on the Lance 975 (Check out Brad's channel from Chattanooga Fish n Fun, he gives great, thorough overviews of some really nice boats and campers.) We sold the Lance 975 in August 2021.
    ►2019 Northern Lite 10-2 Truck Camper - Bought and delivered from Mountain Motors in Troy, MO on 12/2019 and sold it in 01/2020.
    ►2005 Northern Lite 10-2 Truck Camper - Picked up on 8/10/2019 we did major repairs, maintenance and renovations to this one and sold it in 12/2019.
    2008 Bigfoot 21RB - Sold 12/2019, we went across country to purchase from a dealer in Pueblo Colorado.
    ►2006 Casita Spirit Deluxe - Sold 07/2018 when we bought our Bigfoot.
    ►2002 A-liner - Sold 05/2017 when bought our 2006 Casita Spirit Deluxe.

      Haha, at the point we did this video, I was just hoping we were going to sell the Lance, otherwise we'd have two big truck campers sitting in the garage and honestly after finding this Bigfoot I sure didn't want to have to sell it because they're so hard to find. Anyway, we buy but we also sell so either way we're stimulating the economy and since we videoed this, we have sold our Lance. Thank goodness, now I can relax and enjoy our new Bigfoot :-) Thanks for watching! ~Carla

    Out 10.4 is a 2015 and we boondock way more than organize site camp. We added Lithium Batteries, two solar controllers, one for the 400 watt fixed solar on the roof and one for an SAE Jack for our portables. 2,000 watt inverter as well. We can stay off grid indefinitely. Like you we rarely used our microwave until we installed the inverter. Now use it regularly.

    • @AKMcode
      @AKMcode 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dennisreynolds6915 The 2000 watt inverter will not be enough. You would need a much larger 3,000 watt a believe but I would double check with a good solar outfit like Solar Energy Systems in Indiana. They also attend and do the installs at Quartzsite every year.

    If you can live tiny happily…the non-slides are awesome. I think you both have a truck camper addiction and like to improve them. I understand completely! It’s great seeing what you do to improve and decorate them!

    Great review guys, I actually live just 10 minutes from the Bigfoot factory just between Vernon and Armstrong BC, I have heard you say a couple of times how hard it is to find these awesome products and its true, being I am in there backyard and still have to wait 6-8 months to get an order, the great thing is they will Not rush a build, they build them very methodically and everyone in the factory can do any job in building them, if you ever get the chance and your visiting the area you should do a factory tour as the company owner will give you a personal tour, something you never see now days.

    Thank you both for this walk through. This camper has an amazing amount of storage IMHO. True you sacrifice a little bit of hallway room, but it has a great floorplan and the rear dinette and kitchen just works great. I am interested to see if you will notice it haul better too because of the weight savings. The slide outs were nice in the Lance for opening things up but it suffered I think from not as much storage. Time will tell. Hopefully follow up with a vid with your outing experiences. Also, that large compartment for the generator, where you have your grill is a huge deal maker. When the pandemic eases, now, I am going up to BC to take a look around at the Big Foot plant. Great presentation. Steve

    I don’t know if you guys remember me but Dave and I bought the 17.5 foot Bigfoot you guys had put on your channel in 2019. Because it was too small for our grandkids and we couldn’t find a bigger Bigfoot we bought a Lance! We had many problems with the Lance and again looked for a bigger Bigfoot-either the 21 or 25 foot. We still just kept missing out and went on to get an Arctic Fox 22g (no slides) which has worked out for us well, but still isn’t a solid molded fiberglass trailer which we really would prefer. Someday we hope to find one we can afford!!! Congratulations on the new to you Bigfoot!!! Nothing beats a Bigfoot!!!!

      Hi Carpediem88, Thanks we love Bigfoot campers too. This is our second one we've had. I don't know for sure the truck and camper weight but my truck is probably around 9,000 lbs and the camper loaded with our stuff and water would probably be around 4,000 lbs. Plus us, our dog and a bunch of tools I travel with. Pretty heavy load all together. Our Lance 975 camper we had was about 1,000 lbs heavier. As for the trailer it's an old heavy duty trailer I got from my father. Thanks for Watching! ~ Todd

    You guys are an amazing wealth of knowledge for Truck Campers, especially the way you provide the information, easy to understand and not to geek numbers intensed. I am a future newbie to this truck camper ferternity and Live in Ontario Canada. I have done a lot of research and everything I have researched points me to to the northern Lite (10.6) or Bigfoot (10.4). With the state of the world and the economics truck campers are no where to be found and it seems you might have it order one sight unseen. I have watched all of your videos and with your experience I am asking for your input on the 2 campers. I have walked thru a 2021 northern lite 10.6 wet and dry bath so I know what that's like, but my heart is saying go with Bigfoot 10.4 because of the dry bath and the galley/dinette setup with all the rear views. I assume you love the bigfoot more than the Northern Lite? Let me know if you can and if you could let me know the reasons...thanks any help would be great....

    • @RunawayRoses
      @RunawayRoses  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Ron, Thanks for your kinds words and thanks for watching our videos. We're not experts but we've had several campers over the years and learned a lot. We just try to put out information that people may find helpful. As for a Northern Lite vs Bigfoot you really can't go wrong with either one of them they are both great campers. However after having two of each brand in my opinion the Bigfoot definitely has a superior built quality. They both have their pluses and minuses so it depends on what your looking for. If you are tall the NL might be better because it has a 80" bed vs the Bigfoot's 74" bed. As well as the interior height in the center of the camper is a few inches taller. But I'm 6' and the Bigfoot is plenty tall enough for me. There is still a few inches over my head. We have learned we much prefer a dry bath over a wet bath. Having a separate shower is so much better. You probably won't regret choosing a dry bath but you could regret getting a wet bath. Some people are okay with wet baths but to us it's worth have a slightly larger camper to get the dry bath. NL does have a 10.2 with a dry bath but it doesn't seem to be a true dry bath as much as the Bigfoot. Hope that helps and gives you something to think about. Good Luck! ~ Todd

      @@RunawayRoses thank you Todd for the insights an I agree on the seperate dry bath. I am so glad you mentioned the quality as i thought NL was very good and if you say that BF is slightly better than that is good news from an owner perspective. Again as a novice and from videos from people like yourselves I made notes about the 2 and between the dry bath, black tank rinse, and the rear kitchen-dinnet with all the windows with views without personally seeing the 10.4 I felt it was my choice....keep doing what you guys do and i don't cut yourselfs short you both are experts from your own experiences...until the next question....take care Ron

    People I guess or don’t know that Bigfoot shut down in 08 I think and then came back on line when things got better. A Northern lite is a copy of a Bigfoot some of Bigfoot employees went to gather and started up Northern lite and the Northern Lite stays up with fads and styles where Bigfoot doesn’t keep up as much because if you have a great product why change. The Bigfoot has inspection covers on the bottom to get to all your pluming and other things. It came in very handy to change the lag bolts that hold the water tanks. I changed all these bolts out for stainless carriage bolts with stainless nylocker nuts so your tanks won’t pull lose from the floor a easy fix or like me a preventable fix and if you have a water it can run out the bottom and not fill up like bath tub.

    Bigfoot 25C10.4 - Northern Lite 10-2LE.
    Bigfiot-Northern Lite-Bigfoot Northern Lite... 😫
    Great video as always. You touched on it briefly. This question is for Todd. Todd, I have been in both campers mentioned above. The Bigfoots Dry Bath is superior in every way to the N.L. 102-LE. (actually this new dry bath looks so out of place compaired to the rest of the camper as it is quit nice.) So, I was leaning Bigfoot for that regard. BUT, the Bigfoots Queen bed is a joke. Northern Lite is a full queen. I am 6'2" and when I laid on the Bigfoot, I had to lay at a complete angle to get in there, and even then, the nose cone comes down so low, my head was jammed against it. (Finally getting to ask the question)
    Do you see the Bigfoot short Queen ending up being a comfort issue for you over time?
    If Bigfoot would resign their mold and extend their overhang 12" where you could have a full queen, they would have the perfect clamshell, non-slide, 4 season truck camper.
    If Northern Lite bit the bullet and did a redesign of their brand new redesigned mold and incorporated Bigfoots Dry bath, they would have the nicest clamshell, non-slide, 4 season truck camper.

      Hi Scott, I agree the 74" bed in the Bigfoot is a real bummer. I wish they would go with a standard 80" bed like in our Lance and Norther Lite. I am 6' so as long as I put my head towards the top it isn't too bad. I barely fit and I'm sure I'll get use to it but to be honest I would think anybody over 6' would not like it. I knew that before we got it but figured I'd give it a shot because we do love Bigfoot campers in general. Maybe one day they will make a new mold. Thanks for watching! ~ Todd

    I drove 1000 miles to get a 05 10.6 Bigfoot and my dullay was white and a 05 5.9 cummins and when we got home and found out the rear happy jacks pull out so I have to fix that. Should of put a red flag when he had duck tape on Roof top ac cover had duck tape on it and the front happy Jack a C clip fell of and yes he put duck tape to hold it in, and he did not wash or waxed. There were red flags every where but I wanted the 05 Bigfoot and it was my dream camper and after we got home I relished he was a cheap ass and should of walked away but I didn’t do I got what I got and Iam a handy man and can fix about anything. I already bought a 30 cent C lip and pulled all the duck tape off and got a new AC cover from Amazon for 90 bucks dealer wanted 200 bucks . So the Gen set starts and stops but I know what it is just have to do it and the sell told me he just changed the oil in Gen set with sinthic oil and that was a joke it had not been changed and I put my exhaust for the Gen set all the way up to be above the roof to get the noise above us and not on the ground and sounds pretty good may have to put extra muffler on it. But all and all I love it. I have already put 2 100 watt Battleborn batteries and a Renorgy dc to dc charger and changed out Elvis box to charge the batteries and I put a switch on my dash for dc to dc charger that way I can wait till my truck batteries and the flip switch with a light to remind me to turn it off.

    I'm looking at setting up a F550 truck and camper much like you guys appear to currently have. I've been marathon watching your other videos and have a few concerns about my potential set up and have a few questions if that's ok?😄 Thanks in advance.
    - You didn't have this camper long, is there an issue I should be looking for in used Fiberglass campers or why did you sell it so soon.
    - What's been your favorite and/or highest quality camper so far? I liked the warmer feeling interior of the Northern Lite but I want a real separate shower like the Bigfoot has.
    - I'm also going to be towing a trailer with a 10.4 Bigfoot, can I get away with a 24 inch SuperTruss hitch extension (with a 1400 lb weight distributed tongue load rating) ? I need to have as much tongue weight capacity as possible for a heavily loaded trailer.
    - Why did you go with a 4500 and not a 5500? Doesn't a 4500 actually have less payload than a 3500? It does on the Ford Superdutys.
    -You can't sleep 4 adults in the BF? Did you ever get a chance to measure the dinette?
    Thanks again.
    Jesse

    Just be very wary of the black glass oven front. In late May on the return trip from Balsam Mt campground off the Blue Ridge Parkway, myself and my travel buddy and his wife stopped at Ingles in Clayton, GA (up in the NE corner of the state) and got Chic Fil A from across the street. We ate in my trailer since I had the generator and A/C. Everything was fine. When I got home and opened the door, I found the black glass oven front (purely decorative) had shattered (it is tempered) and I keep a Harbor Freight moving quilt on the floor, so 90% of it went on the quilt. I just gathered it up and put it in the trash. I replaced the door with a Black Painted all metal door, so no more concerns there. And yes, I fixed the generator so it now starts on about the second turn of the motor, even at over 5000 ft elevation. See my YT channel for the video on that.

    I'm tempted to switch to Bigfoot and selling my northern lite. I like the prospect of more insulation, of which they have .5" more insulation, correct?

    • @RunawayRoses
      @RunawayRoses  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Down by the river, I've enjoyed watching your videos, keep up the good work. As for your question yes I believe that is correct on the Bigfoot having an extra .5" of insulation. That is on their 2500 series campers. The 1500 series campers have 1" insulation I think. I love both the NL and Bigfoot campers but after having 2 NL's and 3 Bigfoot's in my opinion the Bigfoot seem to have a superior quality of construction. But they both are great campers and have their pluses and minuses. Safe Travels ~ Todd

    I have a 2006 Bigfoot 10.6, and have a question/favor to ask. I want to put a privacy curtain in mine, but need to know the length of screw to use. Could you look at one of yours and find out the length used from the factory? I am desperate. Contacted the factory but they didn’t respond.

    • @RunawayRoses
      @RunawayRoses  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The insulation is 1.5 inches thick so you will need a shorter screw because you don’t want it to go all the way through. Something around 3/4” to an inch. A fairly short screw should work fine. Good luck and thanks for watching.
