@@julianf0x i dont find much wrong with it, i see why people aint happy with it as the vocals could be a lil louder than the instruments, but its also perfectly balanced between all of it which is what im sure they went for.
It wasn't drowning the vocals, but the mix was just a tiny bit off, which can give that impression. Maybe 1 or 2 dB would have made a big difference. On higher quality gear, it sounds great, but not everyone has high quality gear to listen on.
Awesome cover and change of pace! Every cover seems to be a slowed down experimental synth track these days. They look like they had fun and I had fun listening.
If you’re talking about the verses, it’s called a backing track. Pretty standard practice for a lot of bands to use them for certain parts of vocal lines. Lachlan on guitar is also singing backup on the hook, that’s not a track.
Hi! We tracked this during covid and couldn’t have more than 4 people in the room. Had to do what we had to make it sound full. Otherwise this comment would probably say something like “wow would have been better with some backing vocals” am I right? :)
@@mikailadelgado6205 I reckon if I had tuned into a live performance with only one singer performing and heard only one singer that would be entirely unsurprising and I would have no comment whatsoever
As several others have mentioned, the music is too loud and it sounds like they didn't turn up the volume on her voice. But she also does not have a loud, strong or full voice that can be heard well over the instruments.
so american teenage dirtbag baby, soft yet highschool grungey cringey, sweet and with great guitar moments! it even has a bit of nu metal ahaha moments in her voice at the chorus
No teeny bopper bullshit just straight to the point other one would have even been on a skateboard or the other would’ve been moving all around the place with orange or pink hair while wondering if her guitarist likes her!! 🤣🤣 yes I went there
Good old rock music. No wannabe gangster rap or music video hoe’s ! just a good garage band banging it out . Triple j should get back to more of this stuff ! 👍👍
How can they take on such a classic, they are not ready for this. A song that takes me back to being depressed and all those feelings and shit, I don't wanna hear that made into a happy pop tune. This song isn't meant to be sung whilst smiling.
Its probably all pre recorded or they have some form of backing track, you can hear a vocal double from the lead singer and you can hear a bass guitar in the mix
Richard Stevens It’s not though. 2:02 There’s vocal harmony and no one else singing. They are using a track as well, which like honestly heaps of artists do and it really shouldn’t be seen as a bad thing, they are still playing, just using more stuff that they can’t do live. There’s also tambourine in the chorus which is on the track, along with the bass
No, they've been covered a lot. They were once the biggest band in the world, so naturally their biggest hits have been covered by many people. Just searching on TH-cam itself, there are covers by Metallica, The Pretty Reckless, Sum 41, Twenty One Pilots, Gin Blossoms, Ryan Adams, Green Day, Machine Gun Kelly, The Killers, Keane, and on and on. There are many, many more, but obviously I'm not going to list them all.
Definitely reminds me of a late 90s/ early 2000's teenage coming of age comedy
I saw a comment saying that it makes them feel like watching American pie, and tbh it really does
I enjoyed this cover alot but the sound engineering kind of drowned the vocals
Agree, voice seems fine just can't hear enough to be sure
@@theatrain5388 vocals were on point, just listen to the whole thing!

But the guitar is sooooo clean!
A very emotional song for me back in the 90's, but you know, I dig the pop rock vibe of this cover.
Awesome cover and change of pace! Every cover seems to be a slowed down experimental synth track these days. They look like they had fun and I had fun listening.
Never thought there would be a pop punk version of an oasis song especially not this one but it’s pretty good I must say
Cartel’s version of Wonderwall is good too!
This is so good. The bass guitar is amazing! It what made the chorus unique to their sound.
I must be missing something here, I see 0 bass guitars in this video
I came to the comments because I hear the bass but didn't see anyone playing, maybe they had it on a track?
WOW!!! Seriously, and I do mean immensely, like this cover of Don't Look Back in Anger. Excellent job!!!
This makes me want to watch American Pie or something 😅
Dr Phoenix lol 😂
Lmao
Punk Pop Oasis.....
This cover is great, make this 90s song more 90s, amazing
Nah, because pop punk still hadn't gotten THIS poppy. Pop punk still sounded closer to its punk influences.
@@danman6669 Yeah this sounds more 2000's pop punk/emo
Someone needs to re-post this video with the vocals pulled up a bit.
Triple J should play more oasis. Noels a brilliant song writer and Liam’s the best male singer for the past 30-35 years
Are you sure you’re not me? Also my name, also my opinion! 😉
Liam's a right flog but
I think the instrumental drowned out the vocals.
might be on purpose...
How? I can hear Mikaila just fine.
NoodTayne What are you implying? Mikaila is an amazing vocalist.
The production on Like a Version is usually excellent, but they do struggle with getting louder rock bands right.
I feel like a teenager on the bus to school again listening to this song
Her voice sounds a little guarded at the beginning but after that she brought serious thunder. Excellent, energetic rendition of a beautiful song.
Backup vocals is killing it!! Yeah boy!
Loving this triple j, top class
i really love the guitar fill in's at 0:32
Brilliant have watched it over and over
This sounds like one of the songs from the movie She’s All That
I was thinking the same -- very late 90s vibes
Agreed.
So sick! Just hearing about Yours Truly from this cover... crushed it!
Best like a version in a long time! Actually enjoyable to listen to.
Feels good Man
Wow great work from the invisible 2nd singer on this *live* performance

I can barely hear her voice

But she also does not have a loud, strong or full voice that can be heard well over the instruments.
Music nowadays needs, more than anything, more f-ing guitar solos, at least like this one.
It's like Disney got ahold of this
Yes! Thought of this as an iCarly version (not hating though)
How? Just because it's pop-punk with soaring vocals, that makes it Disney, what?! This is Yours Truly, one of the best bands from Australia right now.
@@sailorswift9099 the whole thing sounds autotuned! I seriously hope you're kidding about this being one of Australia's best bands.
Oasis were one of the biggest bands on the planet! I agree this is not biblical
@@sailorswift9099
These are not storing vocals at all. Her voice is mediocre-at-best and it does not have a lot of strength to it.
I think that this is a ROCK mix, so the vocals aren't that "low volume" in the mix.
Such a fresh, 90’s, wonderful cover 💕
it feels good
I love this. Rock it.
they are so sick
You mind turning up the vocals a little?
this bass player knows his place, playing well but not seen
Isn't that why we all play bass 😂😂 too shy to be seen but still want to be apart of it 😂
AFAIK, Yours Truly havent "had" a bass player for a while now, like pretty sure they didnt have one the last time I saw them live
My bet is that they tracked the bass, and are playing to a click.
Bass Player must be responsible for the backing vocals, too.
They don’t have a bass player 😂 anyone who can’t tell that’s an electric needs to stop commenting on videos 😂
🔥🔥🔥🔥..awesome made it your own! 💯 yes from me .
This is so good. Love Yours Truly. Wish the mix was a bit better balanced though.
Reminds me of like Joan Jett or Pat Benatar with a lot of 90s indie pop influence. But there's a hint of Coheed minor dissonance in there
Amazing
Good to hear a different take of it, that hasn’t been slowed down
I lover this version, especially the pre chorus. Fantastic. I will suss out your other stuff. Where's your bass player?
This is killah. But wheres the Dune Rats or Triple one's like a version..why hasn't this been done yet?
Good job on the cover.
*This is like punk rock band cover the Oasis song, but anyways it sound so great! Love it!*
FINALLY!!!
A 'like a version' by Yours Truly
ABSOLUTELY LOVVEEE IT!! 😍
The rythem guitarist has a vibe. As does the whole band.
That's awesome.
Epic
I love it.
I see yours truly i click
Finally, a version i can hear without thinking of kissing my ex.
Her hair color is pretty
This is very good. " So Sally Can Wait ! " 🎶
Where are those female backup vocals coming from...and the bass??
sick guitar solo. bring on more of these covers, none of the slowed down rap crap.
Looks like they had so much fun arranging this
Mad respect, sure Noel the grumpy prick would love it
im sorry is the tambourine on a backing track?
Tambourine, bass guitar, female backing vocals... great "live" performance
was wondering the same thing
@@5t757 I figured they just put the bassist in the corner and didn't get them on video in typical bassist fashion

Cool cover. Not sure the lead vocal needed the doubling effect, was a little distracting at times.

quality, well done
