I'm 73 with a very bad back but watching you cut wood makes me want to join in and cut split cut split and more ! Thanks for letting me visually join in Joe . Really enjoy watching you trap and do everyday chores THANKS 😊
I love cutting and splitting wood; great therapy! The perfect day, in the perfect environment. In the Maine woods with a light snow falling and using a 1938 made in Maine axe. I can almost smell the fresh cut wood! Life is good, and you are living the dream...........my dream! Great video as usual.
Glad you got a day off on the trap line but plenty of jobs to do. Your no loafer Joe !!! Love those old axes you have and that you still use them the way that they were meant to be used
Great video Joe ;) My husband and I really enjoy your channel so much. We especially love when Donnie is around too. Looking forward to the next adventure as well.;)
Hi Joe, great video. There is something to be said about the feeling that comes with cutting, splitting and piling firewood. It makes you feel good and although some think it’s hard work I find it very enjoyable and actually look forward to it every year to n prep for our winter months as there is no warmer heat to me than that of a Woodstove. Cheers MT
The stove someone made for them , would have to get a whole new stove made , or get them to redesign, and that design make it very efficient , once your use to it likely not as big of a issue as camera makes it look , and if someone hits it bet they will be more careful the second time lol ,
And just like that winter has arrived and the scene changes. Enjoyed.
Joe this content with the trapping and this is second only to your hard water fishing. Keep them coming old boy

Couldn't agree more!
You’re a hard working man!
But we love your jolly voice Joe! Haha another good one from the great NMW!
thank you
No gloves! You’re a brute Joe!
Hard but fun work!
Love the video. You could use a metal wedge and a maul, I use both for the bigger pieces.
Always have to slit wood. You do a great job
Hard work my friend.
Always!
I bet that axe could tell some stories from years past. Use Eye & ear protection from an old man overdue for hearing aids, so says your Mom.
I always thought it was selective hearing.
That pine being up off the ground should be fairly dry. What kinda axe you using?
Thank you, It's white spruce. The axe is a Spiller Jersey, 5lber made in 1938
Gotta clear the trail first and get firewood
right
Wood needs to be bark side up 😊
Would love to have a homemade hachet made?
Homemade hatchets are the best.
Probably had to drive a couple ibuprofen into you after that workout.
I would like to suggest you change the upper damper on the stove; the handle comes out by your face. Hate to see anyone get hurt by that design.
