Learn to Paint with Acrylics | All You Need to Know to Get Started

- Learn how to get started painting with acrylics. In this video, I teach you all you need to know to get started painting and what I have learned over the years using acrylics. Get ready to take the leap from beginner painter to intermediate, this will be fun!
The first things you will need is supplies to be able to paint. You don’t need to spend a lot of money to get supplies. I still don’t spend a lot but would rather put my money where quality counts.
Here is the list of supplies I recommend and use for my paintings (Amazon affiliate links below)

2. Acrylic Paints - amzn.to/2Efqaua The paint colors I use include: Heavy Body - cadmium yellow Medium Hue, cadmium red light Hue, quinacridone magenta, ivory black, Emerald Green, Phthalocyanine Green (blue shade), phthalocyanine blue (Green shade), brilliant blue, Bronze yellow, dioxazine purple and two tubes of titanium white. I also use bronze, gold and silver metallic paint, same brand.

Peak quarantine, my friends gf was staying with us and she convinced me to attempt painting again (I draw). Found out I really like it and did it a lot. Then massive breakup lol and awkward situations later...basically I haven't been practicing like I should since 😔

I'm only 11 but my I want to pursue art as other than piano the only thing I'm good at I've tried oil painting before but I prefer acrylic paints since I like how cheap and smooth they are this is not only a good way to figure out how to use paint but it's also easily explained I don't normally say things like this but continue what you're doing on this channel bless you

So for Christmas I got a painting set … I can’t wait to learn acrylics! I can practice and get better. Hopefully one day I’ll move on to oil painting because I would love recreate a Bob Ross Landscape.

ty for offering these lessons for us who have the desire to learn but not affordability.
i prematurely started out without any idea about brushes or mixing etc. i appreciate your efforts. I've only watched 2 videos and am trying to be patient and learn techniques. I'll rewatch and try implementing techniques on paper prior braving canvas.
After watching your choice of canvas, I realized my Dollar General canvas may be good for practice but almost feel vinal like.
You're welcome. You can also paint on watercolor paper if you add gesso to it. It isn't perfect but it is great for practice and affordability.

I'm new to painting period, I've only started by painting 5 inch wooden easels that I can buy at Walmart; I had bought pretty decent paintbrushes (so I thought) at Walmart, then I saw this video and ordered the paintbrushes you recommend (the 15 pack) and they are SO MUCH NICER! Right now I'm only using the Apple Barrel Acrylic Paints and the easels have turned out pretty nice!

@@Createfulart yeah I'm learning that as a new painter; I'm glad I didn't pick up the kids' paintbrushes just because they were the cheapest! I spent a little more for the set at Walmart, but I'm definitely happy with the ones you recommended in your video!

I want to start drawing/painting again. Never have with acrylics, only water colors. But I want to start. Sadly, I think I forgot everything I used to know of what I learned in school about drawing and painting. If you told me to draw some of the very simplest things, I feel like I wouldn’t even know anymore which brushes and which techniques to use for painting (which angles etc. for drawing). But maybe soon I can get started again
