You're entirely right, this car tends to appeal to a more mature crowd, I bought mine from a nurse, a 1.6G, and majority of the altis owners you will encounter on the road is probably a doctor. this is deffo a great choice over a newer vios for me. You really don't have to do much to make it look modern, For the interior you can buy a touchscreen android headunit for 8-10k php which I would say is definetly a must if you are planning to daily. For the exterior I just change my wheels for a 18" wrapped in 225/40/R18, and a coilover setup (The stock suspension is too soft for me, and it is great if you are not planning on loading the back with 2 people. or the rear will squat.) overall not so much aftermarket support for cosmetics unlike the civic, but I would choose this over any civic except the SiR.
Just got my license and started driving 1.6 E 2010 model. Really love this car, nice steering and pedals are smooth. However, sometimes it feels a bit underpowered when going up a really steep hill.
I really like this car... I thought of getting one as a replacement of my aging 96 Corolla....but it would be very nice and fuel efficient if it is a manual transmission...

Thanks for the feedback. 4 speed auto for the 1.6V and1.6E. CVT For the 2.0V. This model came with drum brakes at the back. The 2.0V has 4 wheel disk brakes

Rey Hernandez The basic one doesn’t have Bluetooth but it have Auxiliary and you can talk on the phone and listen to music through the speakers. They have a 2010 sport version that comes with Bluetooth.

mine is 1.6 E, super fuel efficient, it has built-in catalytic coverter, 14 km/L

Mine didn't. But it's a pretty common issue for the altis because the dashboard is rubber coated and it melts when exposed to the sun for too long
