    Been there, done that. One afternoon, when I was 8 there was this film on the telly that I really wanted to watch so I faked being ill to stay home. Somehow it worked which kind of surprised me because my dad’s a doctor. 😅 Years later my mom gave me the film as a birthday present. I have the suspicion they knew all along.

      Just in case someone reading is sensitive to that
      Yeah I lived like that with school for about 3 months. Constant trips to the counselors, breaking down in class and before school every day, and not being able to enjoy time after school because of just being scared of going whenever that was.
      I don’t remember why I felt so bad at all but I know that my parents kept telling me to push through it.
      I don’t actually hate school after all that honestly, it’s kinda weird, but it definitely was an odd experience nonetheless.

    I remember as a kid being told I wasn't allowed to watch tv or play a game when I was sick. And my kid brain just accepted it but as an adult I find that ridiculous. I have a chronic illness now and I can't sleep forever, when I'm stuck in bed I play games or to help me fall asleep I'll be watching vids. You're allowed to relax when you're sick. You can't spend all day staring at the ceiling when you're not sleeping.

    there needs to be an anti-Dhar Mann video where the parents who play mind games on their kids to "teach them a lesson" instead of just punishing them are the ones who "instantly regret it" bc this is normalizing some pretty fucked up behavior that's just gonna lead to trust issues (as we see in the end)
    edit: can't believe i have to say this, but a parent manipulating their child and giving them potentially lifelong trust issues is, believe it or not, bad! the ends don't justify the means, it just means the kid is never going to trust their parents again wtf is wrong with you guys.

    • @Ruchunteur
      @Ruchunteur 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      To me it looks more like a cartoon targeting kids than a video targeting parents. The point is to make the kids watching thinking it's bad behavior and they shouldn't do it, not telling parents how to handle the situation for real. I sure hope no parent watching this and be like "yep, I totally gonna go that route and be a complete manipulative assbutt and play mind game that gonna handicaps them for a few days, weeks or even year depending on the manipulation instead of explaining the kid that it's bad behavior directly"

    • @rowan4684
      @rowan4684 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@Ruchunteur i mean... i think yes, it is a problem if you teach kids that that's a normal way to handle people lying or faking.
      because it's not just teaching them not to do those things, it's also teaching them that that's the acceptable response if you find out that someone else lied to you. because kids don't just lie to their parents, they also lie to each other, and i think a much better lesson would be to teach people to like... actually talk to someone if they don't like what they're doing?
      also, if someone in real life DOES pull that kind of shit on them, it will only make them feel worse because they will believe that they deserved to be lied to and manipulated in return instead of being treated like a regular person who made a mistake.

  • @nodoubtmisa
    @nodoubtmisa 3 ปีที่แล้ว +283

    Idk man, if I had a kid and it was playing sick I would talk to them about it and why they are doing it, its not always just a simple "I dont want to write that test" mental health days are important and lets say he was actually sick, if you tell a sick kid, their favourite youtuber/star/musician whatever is gonna show up at their school, I think most sick kids would say they feel fine just to see them, so thats not really proving anything xD

    • @Ruchunteur
      @Ruchunteur 3 ปีที่แล้ว +25

      yeah, beside, it's a stupid plan from the get go. If your plan is to skip a test there is only two outcome possible:
      1) You get an automatic F if you are not aloud to take the test again
      2) You have to take the test anyway at a later date (potentially even the very day you came back)
      So it's much better to talk to the kid and explain him that there is no point in faking illness rather than going along with it and just put it in an even worst situation. Now he skiped two day of school and he'll have to catch up with all the lessons he didn't have somehow.

So I literally crawled out of bed and started getting dressed but half way through it I felt like I would throw up if I kept moving. My dad just stood there watching me and waiting. I thought he would stop me because I could barely walk but he didn’t. I eventually had to say I couldn’t go to school and I felt really bad about it. When I was a child, if I happened to be unwell and not able to go to the school, then going to the doctor would be the bare minimum done because at least the doctor can work out what is making me unwell. I'd have no choice in the mattee beyond going to school or going to see the doctor. I don't get why this so called mother would see the kid respond like that and then not tell him thise are the two options, either make sure your kid is well, or send him to school, don't just leave him at home without knowing what's causing him to be unwell.

    This video really did leave me with so many questions. Does she just see him on a morning then literally leave him until the next morning? Is he the same age as his brother if they were both taking the same test?

      Could be an end of year exam, different grades take them at the same time with different levels of difficulty.

    I used to have a genuine issue w puking before school every day bc of anxiety and my mom would literally just drive me to school w a grocery bag in case I had to puke in her car. This kids mom is so soft.

    My parents wouldn't give an f and make me go unless I didn't have more than 40°C

    3:19 You laugh, but I was like that in middle and high school. My mom was of the mindset of "you're old enough to decide whether you should stay home or not," but I still wanted her opinion. And I felt bad if I stayed home cause my older brother would stay home for the smallest things, so it felt like I was abusing my power too. Also skipping school was way more stressful to me than just going while I felt bad.

    I have a theory about dhar man, I believe he’s a tyrant and a dictator who forcefully took over whatever world these characters are living in. He and his followers brainwashed them into admiring and worshipping him as a god, and be absolutely perfect human beings, which is why everyone is obsessed with him. Then he replaced all forms of media with dhar mann videos and dhar mann themed ripoff games. He then made millions of his subjects live in horrible conditions, causing the sad backstories from the characters. However no one blamed him and kept worshiping him. But some people woke up from their hypnosis, and found out about Dhar Mann’s evil misdoings. They created a rebellion and realized the only way to break people from their trance was to be terrible people towards the brainwashed people, which is where the dhar mann villains come from. However, they are almost never successful, as Dhar Mann had planned for this. He made the brainwashing technology so strong that the victims would be able to spread the hypnosis by telling members of the Dhar Mann Rebellion(DMR) their sob stories. At this point in time, the DMR is running low on members and they are losing hope every minute. But they continue to send people into battle to try and save the civilians and take Dhar Mann down once and for all.
    The kid here who was faking an illness, for example, is one of the best spies in the DMR. He focuses specifically on this family, because before Dhar Mann took over, they were his mother and brother and they were the happiest family ever. But when the take over happened, he knew he had to potentially sacrifice that all in order to save them. He cleverly pretends to be one of them, while still being a jerk to them and slowly getting them to break free from their hypnosis.
    Might add onto this later idk
