Thank you Paul, im glad you've enjoyed the videos and projects, just sharing a little of our lives with a wide and varied audience, we always have to keep it fresh and do something different, so it won;t always appeal to everyone... Thank you again fore your kind feedback, have a great weekend.. Del.
Your not a car guy, you've confessed to being like all of us " a mechanical guy" when it comes to mechanics wether its cars, bikes, trucks etc we "solve & overcome" our problems & pass knowledge down generations, i would say "welcome to the family" but you're already part of it my friend.
After being a Harley rider/owner for many, many years I must say I am impressed by the build-quality/solutions/constructions of the Triumph bikes. Light years better than Harley's (pre- 2010) I am sad to say. Don't know if that is surprising me....a little bit perhaps, being a generation experiences the old 60/70's Triumphs.
Sure thing my friend, the Hinckley Triumphs of the early days were properly well built, sadly not so much any more, I think the economists drive manufacturing these days, which is a shame... I've always had the view that Harleys of an earlier age are actually quite well built, certainly solid and far from flimsy, and eternally repairable... if the motor company closed down tomorrow, there would still be Harley Davidson motorcycles on the road 100yrs from now... and the same could probably not be said for Triumph... have a great weekend and keep safe!
Well thats my Zen moment for the day, now off to meditate, so claiming and therapeutic. Love ya work. I really enjoy the silence with these new vids, not that I mind you talking, but somehow it just sinks in better.. Nice work
Another good job Del and another great video, I've picked up a lot of tips watching you repair your bikes. Best wishes to you and yours for the New Year. I'm lucky being in NZ but I have a lot of family over there in the UK and I hope 2021 goes well for everyone. Keep up the good work!
Thanks mate, you're right, it's been a challenging year, for some they have had more difficulties, we are blessed that on the south coast we have only had limited restrictions, but you're right, let's hope 2021 brings better times, keep safe and well there, and thank you for all your support, it's much appreciated 👍
Thank you so much Nancy, it is a great joy to not have a deadline, or schedule, and be able to take time and enjoy every step of a project, we're glad you enjoy it too!
Great video again Del/Penny sorry to repeat myself but the level of care & attention you exercise is unsurpassed, it would be so easy just to throw new parts at projects but you prove to us & remind us that its not allways necessary to do that, then there is of course the escalating expence. Setting out the amount of tasks that you know you can handle comfortably is in my mind key to keeping interest whilst avoiding possible disappointment. Again thanks for another crackin tutorial.
Thank you Jimbo, you make good sense, projects need careful management and planning and nothing comes with an open budget, but when you have time and no deadline, you can still make a good job of it!
Del, one of your best videos to date. Really liked all the camera placements and angles. Its like I was standing there with you in the shop! Absolutely high quality work. Well done sir. Love it!
Thank you kind Sir, that's very good of you to say, and we're glad you enjoyed it... videos are fun to make, but do take a rather long time, each one is 16-20hrs in the making, so it's great to know it's appreciated! Keep safe and well there and have a happy new year!
Hope so, the rear brakes are in a dreadful state, so gonna attack them next and bring them up to standard with the rest of the bike, there's a fair way to go and have set the bar high, so should be a great looking bike when it's done! Will PM you in a bit, for a catch up!
A fellow Canadian echos what Guy Fuller said, thanks very much for a happy little Christmas present to be greeted with, to make this morning even better!
I used that shock on my veradero 1000 a bit of a fiddle to adjust because its manually adjustable but a brilliant shock can really set it up including ride height. Nice rebuild its looking good as it's coming together
Like i've said before the photographic presentation of what you do is off the scale, so good and clear I reckon you must have swapped Penny for David Attenboroughs crew or something. Thank you so much for the happiness your positivity and confidence in what you are doing gives, the simple unpompous way you put things across is brilliant. Good man, all the best to you and Penny, stay safe.
Hi Steve, my word, thank you so much, that's very kind of you, each video takes a lot longer to produce now and over the years we've put increasingly more time in to editing, and feedback like yours makes it all worth it, so thank you again! Take care and keep safe, have a great weekend.
Fabulous camera shots & angles as always. Loving every second of every episode. What a brilliant & invaluable education you’re giving us, Del and it’s so appreciated!
Hi Delboy, Always enjoy your informative videos. I have a 2007 fzs1( which I love btw)and i keep it in a really high standard nick🤭lol, i am a bit of an OCD when it comes to my bike.. Well, as the bike is having his winter rest atm in the garage(wheels lifted up,battery on trickle charger, etc)this is the time usually when I do the necessary maintenance work. I have owned the bike for over 4 yrs now but I have never done the front fork oil change.(for matter of fact I don't think any previous owner done it either). The seals are still looks good,no leakages. I wondered if I should just replace the oil or while the forks out just do the seals as well?what would you recommend? And also could you send me a link for one of your relevant video to do this particulary bike's fork please? Many thanks in advance and keep up the good work. Regards Attila Porcsin Loughton
Tomorrow I will start my project, during the year I bought the necessary tools to do a good job, I learn a lot by watching your videos. Happy holidays greetings from Colombia!
It's like a meditation watching this build. Loving it. It's been a minute hasn't it? Much love to you and Penny this Christmas. Here's to brighter horizons in 2021, my old friend.
Hi Pete, what a nice surprise to hear from you, we're so glad you're still enjoying the videos... and you're right, let's turn the corner to 2021 and hope for brighter days ahead... have a great weekend and keep safe and well, D&Px
Thank you Gary, what kind and generous words... we wanted to continue the Friday schedule, so it was Xmas gift of a video! Hoping you are both safe and well there, all kinds of restrictions here, but looking forward to a brighter 2021... all the very best, D&Px
Thanks buddy, yes indeed, opted for a heavy duty chain, and like you said, should last a lifetime if well maintained! Happy holidays, keep safe and well there! 👍
Got heaps done there mate. Thanks for putting the chain replacement bit in, thats a job ill be doing soon. Hope ya Christmas day went well. Bloody hot down here (43')where im working.🇦🇺
Hi Mark, blimey that' hot, it's minus something here lol... glad you enjoyed the video, we do also have a dedicated chain replacement video in the back catalogue, but as it's so popular we've posted it up as the 'introduction' video on the channel if it helps, it has a lot more detail... have a good weekend, keep safe mate!
With a little advance Happy New Year 2021 and especially good health and lots of motorcycles. Thank you for your videos and looking forward to watching you again.
Hi there Joe, great to hear from you Sir.. we hope life is good for you over there and you're keeping safe in this dreadful crisis... we're pretty much locked down and all restricted again over here, and it's still spreading fast.. So let's hope the storm passes and we can all get back to a kind of normal for 2021. Take care and keep safe my friend, and as always, keep in touch..! D&Pxx
Thank you Shane, im glad you're enjoying the project, stripping anf completely restoring the back brakes in the next couple of videos, they're in a dreadful state, and will need it to match the back end so far.. Merry Christmas too mate, have a great weekend.
Thanks Richard, we're enjoying this project... taking the time to make a nicer finish... really appreciate your kind words, have a great weekend mate! 👍
Love this bike already. Love the video as always. Quick question those long bolts under the swingarm why have you kept them so long? would it not look nicer with only a couple of threads instead. Just a bit of OCD on my part i expect.
Interesting point buddy, it's not me that's left them long as such, they're the original factory bolts, and the only guess I could take as to why they appear a little over long, is to stop them coming out? If you consider the construction of the rear suspension, thee bolts are mounted laterally to the rotational motion (if that makes sense!), so as the swingarm goes up and down, the bolt and nut get twisted, the nut is bearing against the dog bone link and the head of the bolt is bearing against the swingarm mount... two separate items that rotate against each other... and this could cause the nut to eventually loosen, so if it does, the fine thread means the nut would have to turn many many times to actually come off altogether, and even if it did, there's an inch of bolt hanging out to stop the dog bone dropping off... and the bolt itself can't come out itself completely because as you saw, they are capped off with big rubber plugs, so perhaps that's the reason why... who knows?!! But they're out of sight, so it;s not like it's an ugly feature!
Happy Christmas Penny & Del, hope you have a great time. Just a thought, I doubt a lot of people understand just how much extra work / time it takes to produce one single video. Maybe you could wear a go pro or something on your chest and show the whole setting up of every shot and then include video editing just to show how much work it actually requires, i'm sure a lot of people would be interested in it. Once again cheers for the great content and Happy Christmas.
Hi Kevin, thank you mate, that's very kind of you, we thought of doing a behind the scenes shooting before, but it takes an insanely long time, I can see it may be interesting, but it's so long winded, a 20min video like this (which is admittedly longer than usual) took 8hrs or so to film, an entire day with just one short tea break ha ha, and then almost 12hrs to edit... but maybe it's a thought for the future, I'll have a chat with Penny, my Creative director, and see if we can come up with something next year! Merry Christmas mate!
just awsome....hope you guy's are having a great christmas and i certainly wish you all the best for the new year thank you for all your hard work with these amazing project's .thank you team del
Glad it was a nice surprise John, we never the schedule overrun lol... hope you're having a great holidays, we are managing some down time as well for a change!! Merry Xmas, D&Px
I want you to know that your videos, especially this ‘legend-ary’ rebuild, are warming and brightening a cold and dark Canadian winter. Merry Christmas to you and all who make your life meaningful.
Wow, thank you Guy, that's very kind words indeed, we're glad we've been able to send you a gift to enjoy! Merry Christmas, stay safe there and keep well!
Great job mate, coming together nicely. Wishing Penny and you a very Merry Christmas and all the best for 2021, lets hope things start getting better in the new year. My relies over there tell me you are going into tier four lock down , stay safe and I hope it gets better soon for you all over there. Cheers
Thanks mate, they're right, most of the South East is shut down now, but we've literally missed it by 50 miles, although, viruses don't respect border, not when idiots insist on keep moving around, so I'm sure it's on it's way! Have a great weekend too, enjoy the holidays and peaceful new year.
....... Brilliant how it's done, I have worked on Boat, Lorry and Cars but never ventured onto Bikes until I found your channel.... have a good Christmas day Del and penny..... I will look for your paypal so have a New Years drink on me....................
Thank you so much for your kind words mate, im glad you enjoy the videos, and great to know that we've inspired you to get into bike work.. Take care and have a wonderful Christmas break.. and thank you in advance for your generous support.. Keep safe, D&pxx
Very nice work, Del, it's very cool to see the thought and care that's put into each part of this project! Saw your email today, will get back to you in a couple days, thanks!
Looking Nice Del. It must take more time setting up the camera shots than actually doing the job itself. Good work though, please keep em coming. Really enjoying this project, makes me wish I was fit enough to do another project myself; oh the memories. Hope you and Penny had a good (but very different) Christmas. Here's to a better 2021. Dave.
Thanks Dave, those are kind words indeed, and much appreciated, we're so glad you enjoy the videos... and you're so right, the filming and production takes infinitely longer than just getting on with the job, and of course the editing and post-production makes it even longer still... a 20min video can be 12hrs in the making, or even longer! But we feel we should push the boundaries of our skills, and it's great to know it's noticed! Have a safe and healthy Christmas mate! 👍
Meticulous work as per usual, if only shop mechs would work the same. Ya know its done right when ya do it yourself. Cheers Del and Penny for a great year of vids. Have a very Melly Chlistmas - Mr.Lawlence/David Bowie. I seem to remember that phrase every xmas from that flick.
How good to hear from you mate, hope you're keeping safe and well there during these strange times... thanks for all your support, we're glad you enjoy the videos, and onwards and upwards in 2021! Stay in touch, all the very best from us both.
i love to watch your vids watched all the caffabusa vids in 7 days (81 vids lol ) keep up the great work nice to learn something new (since my kids have bikes now )
Blimey mate, you'll get square eyes! Seriously, thanks for that awesome support, and as a coincdeince, I'm out for a ride on it today to meet a buddy, leaving shortly!
Hi Chris, thanks for taking the time to drop us a line, it's great to know you're enjoying the videos... have a great, safe and healthy Xmas and here's to a brighter 2021! Cheers, D&Px
Your "How-To" videos are great. But, I'm thinking that commentary along the way to explain the "Wherefore" of what/why you are doing what you are doing might be helpful. Like, for example, explaining why you put grease into the pin bearings and then, later, add more grease through grease fittings (you did that in a previous video and in this one). My - random - thought at the time was why do it both times. Why not after its assembled and then add the grease through the fittings. You gotta remember that most of us know a whole lot less about these things than you do. Just a random thought.
It's Christmas Day, and I'm watching Del Boy working his magic on this latest project. Just goes to show that the rubbish that they put on TV's not worth watching. This is far more enjoyable to watch. Happy Christmas everyone, and all the best for a better 2021. How's the Air pressure holding up in the tyres ?
Hi buddy, im glad you enjoy the videos, im watching YT today too, nowt worth a damn in the TV.. both tyres still holding full pressure, looks like it was a double success.. lets all have a better 2021 and make up for lost time.. specially on the bike riding front.
Merry Christmas Del! Would you believe it was 56 degrees F today in SE Wyoming...? Went out for a glorious Christmas ride in the sunshine. It's never this beautiful out in December here hahaha!
Happy holidays buddy, how nice you got out yesterday... woke up this morning, skies are cloudy, but it's 50'F so am doing the same, gonna grab the ol' Hayabusa and go for a ride before dinner, maybe meet a buddy for a coffee! Thanks for your support, it means a lot!
Cheers buddy, there's nothing as calming as a clock ticking in the background... it's my favourite sound in the garage... Have a Merry Christmas mate, keep safe and well!
Your videos have brought me many hours of joy this year, I’ve been binge watching the Street fighter and the first half of the Busa build in recent weeks. I hope you have the best Christmas Del. Ride Safe
Glad you like them Adam, and thank you for the kind support.. what a strange year it's been, but lets hope it gets back to normal soon... take care and have a great weekend.. D&Pxx !
Smashing vid mate, love these kinda videos, i`m even more determined to persuade you to get a Speedmaster or America in the future,, maybe even do a Bobber build out of one ide love to see that done with one of those, maybe because it`s something i`m on about doing myself in the future so i need a good bloke to show how it`s done LOL, merry christmas mate,, have a bostin xmas all the best to you and the Lady `P`.
Glad you enjoyed the video mate, we thought we would keep to schedule and our gift at Christmas! Hope you're having a great holidays, enjoy and keep safe and well there, here's to 2021! D&Px
I am really enjoying this series, mostly because lots of it is so similar and relevant to my own little project. Thanks to your videos I’ve gone so much further on my own bike than I would of, recently removing the headers/manifold which was nail biting at times but after re-watching you do it, and with plenty of armour and heat they all came out with no major drama’s. I know lots have disagreed with some things you have done in the past, and the path some of your projects have gone but even those projects we still pick up valuable tips and you can’t please everyone every time. Anyways your efforts and time you take to share this are much appreciated 👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you Paul, im glad you've enjoyed the videos and projects, just sharing a little of our lives with a wide and varied audience, we always have to keep it fresh and do something different, so it won;t always appeal to everyone... Thank you again fore your kind feedback, have a great weekend.. Del.
I dont have motorcycle, I am car guy but here I am at midnight watching some guy repairing his bike.
Your not a car guy, you've confessed to being like all of us " a mechanical guy" when it comes to mechanics wether its cars, bikes, trucks etc we "solve & overcome" our problems & pass knowledge down generations, i would say "welcome to the family" but you're already part of it my friend.
My god, that was therapeutic! Excellent rebuild, these videos always inspire and motivate me, top stuff!
Awesome, thank you, glad you enjoyed it!
Me too 😊
After being a Harley rider/owner for many, many years I must say I am impressed by the build-quality/solutions/constructions of the Triumph bikes. Light years better than Harley's (pre- 2010) I am sad to say. Don't know if that is surprising me....a little bit perhaps, being a generation experiences the old 60/70's Triumphs.

I really enjoy the silence with these new vids, not that I mind you talking, but somehow it just sinks in better..
Nice work
Glad you enjoy it mate, that's very kind of you to say, we're honoured that you find the videos relaxing and interesting! Merry Christmas!
@@Moonfleet41 You too, have a happy and safe one.
Another good job Del and another great video, I've picked up a lot of tips watching you repair your bikes.
Best wishes to you and yours for the New Year.

Keep up the good work!
Thanks mate, you're right, it's been a challenging year, for some they have had more difficulties, we are blessed that on the south coast we have only had limited restrictions, but you're right, let's hope 2021 brings better times, keep safe and well there, and thank you for all your support, it's much appreciated 👍
another great video bro !!! love how the bike is coming alone !!!!! 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks Renzo, Have a great weekend sir, and keep safe.
Santa sent me a Delboy video for Christmas, I must have been a good boy!
Hey Harold, how are you good Sir, hope you've had a wonderful day and enjoy the rest of your weekend, take care and keep safe, D&Px
What meticulousness! Although I do not need this information, I always watch carefully how you do these things with passion and professionalism.
Thank you so much Nancy, it is a great joy to not have a deadline, or schedule, and be able to take time and enjoy every step of a project, we're glad you enjoy it too!

Calm, quiet and interesting much like the baby Einstein videos. Love it Merry Christmas.

You too Spencer, hope you're having a happy holidays, keep safe and well, all the best, D&Px
