Who the hell is Ironhead Sally? Well here's my channel description:
Old School Bikes and Old School Ways! Ride hard, wrench a lot, and always having a blast.
Bike camping, wrenching, and shenanigans. My husband and I create motorcycle content for people that are tired of seeing all of the fake insta accounts of sponsored boring yuppies. Here's some realness, we are just broke bikers living the low life and getting by. I ride a 1985 Ironhead Chopper as my daily, my touring bike is a 1984 FXR. We have lots of Ironheads and FXRs and are constantly building more, trying to keep these old neglected scoots on the road instead of rotting away in a garage.
Appreciate all the love & support
Keeping it Real! Keep it Sketchy!

🤩 thank you, i really appreciate that Fernando! Keeping it Real! 🤘 people like u and us, riding out with tents on our bikes to go to an event, old school biker life! Cheers man!! Hope to see ya again at another event!
Real people on real bikes and not posers.
Honest and real.

Respect from South Africa 🇿🇦
Thanks for watching! Yes sometimes too real, but it’s always a fun adventure lol cheers! And ride hard and ride free!
I can’t say this enough………. This video rocks and you guys are the real deal!!! Love those old ironheads!!!!
Appreciate it Slick!!! Trying to keep the culture and bikes alive 🤩
Excellent comment.
This is a great video. I dig any video that keeps it about the the bikes and the ride with all the trials and tribulations that go with it. Hell yeah good job Sally
I second that notion!!!! You guys are the realest!!! The real deal!!!! Wish every woman had your enthusiasm for riding old bikes!!! SLICK
Thank you so much! That’s what we try to do, just document our life, and thats a lot of riding and wrenching, and dirty life on the road lol all our favorite stuff 🤩 thanks for watching!!
Thanks Slick! There’s still ppl like us riding and wrenching older bikes! Woooooooot! Lol
I had a 81 XLH took it everywhere put 78,000 miles on it sold it in 87 and regret it to this day. Bought my FXR that same year and that one ill keep, it now has 185,00 miles on it. When I see your trips it makes me relive my youth and keeps me going today, keep it up and be safe.
Awesome!!! That’s some miles, love it! 🤩 appreciate ya watching and glad it reminds ya of some of your shenanigans and travels. Bike travels are never boring thats for sure 🤣 cheers!
Me and a buddy one September, back in the 80s were riding north to Calgary, was 34* and raining passed a Mounty and he just looked at us and shook his head. Got into Banff and it had snowed. I was a lot tougher back then.
Ooof, that is hardcore! I can take the wet, but the cold sucks soo bad 🥶 that mounty was prolly impressed! LoL cheers!!!
Absolutely loved this video. You two are tough as it gets
Thank you. Appreciate ya watching!

Subhanallah pemandangan yang indah
Aku sangat suka

Great video! How much that bar must've seen I'm not surprised it's haunted. Such a nice sheriff. 🤥
Ride safe both. 🏍
Great video thank you
my best motorcycle adventures were on a stripped down shovelhead flh, complete with rain and mechanical issues. thanks for bringing us along on your travels.
Awesome! Hard to not have great adventures on cool old bikes right?!? 😁😎 cheers and thanks for watching
Hi 👋, That was great to see you both on the road trip, Thank you for sharing, glad to see you using the hairdryer, done that many of times.
The International hotel looks amazing obviously come from the UK, I recognise the style , and happy birthday to the old dude, who runs the place, and at least you got fed and watered yourselves😂, Ride Safe, Phil from the moulin France.
Cheers Phil! It was a good start to the adventure, appreciate ya watching!! 😁😁😁
Sally, thanks for taking us along for the ride !!!! You brought back a ton of memories, especially the wet clothes !!!! Lol. Been many moons since I've been in them there hills. Now I live in the southeast and have to deal with all kinds of crazy people !!! Keep on Truckin and having fun.
There’s choppers in them there hills 🤣🤣🤣 thats awesome, theres some pretty country does there, but i dont know how u do it with all the people and traffic! lol! Cheers and ride hard and ride safe!
Now that’s awesome
Absolutely love your video's Sally. You and hubby are the real deal putting down the miles. Love your adventures and your positive mind set. Safe travels as always. Peace ✌.
Thank you Dave!! Appreciate that! We have fun despite any bike trouble or rain, still better than the office 🤣 cheers and thanks for watching!! 😁
Even with the rain that trip looked amazing.
There should be laws against trailering bikes to an event.
Yaassss and yassss! lol ride in bike show should be more than just riding in from the parking lot 🤣
@@feloniousmonk3049 thats what we’re saying is just to RIDE it, whatever it is! Its cool to have a cool bike, but ride em lol! Doesnt have to be long hauls, but getting the odometer ticking (if u have one) 😉 for the love of the ride, not just building chrome covered bikes that never get started and played with 🤣 lol
Righteous baby!
🤘🤘🤘💯💯💯
1 7 O O mile test ride 👍 ! !
I L O V E. your Great attitude Sally !
Stay safe you two ! !
Super Proud of you BOTH ,
Logging those miles 👍 !
Thank you! Appreciate ya watching! It’s always an adventure lol cheers! 😁
"Leak, leak, dirty...meooooww" This is the language of my people! Never been out west, would like to one day, looks like a cool trip.
🤩😂 the animals need their voices heard lol.
I rode the 50 from the other direction - East Bay to Salt Lake - on my Sportster about a decade ago. Took 120 through Yosemite, then 395 up to 50. I remember riding through a stretch of 50 where I hadn't seen another vehicle on the rode for quite a while, thinking, "well, if I break down here, that'd kinda suck."
I rode past the International, but didn't stop cuz I was on a tight time schedule. Regret that, now. I don't live in that part of the country anymore, but after seeing this, maybe I'll try to get back there.
Wow, I’m surprised, in most every stretch if 59, we ended up seeing other cars, but maybe was a busy time lol. Cheers, thanks for watching! Hope u make it back out or find new adventure regardless 😁
That's a real video , the way it was , and the life it should be. Down to earth people and down to earth living. At least you guys had the luxury of a outside toilet. Ride hard ride free.
Appreciate it Paul! Yes, we were spoiled sleeping indoors on this trip 🤣 cheeers!
Another great video, thanks guys. You're both awesome.
Thanks for the vid Sally. Great stuff. Love your mascots ha. Man you guys have got some great roads. Waiting for next instalment of the trip. Cheers from down under. Stan.
Cheers Stan!! Thank you! Utah and Nevada have some of the best roads we’ve seen in US. LoL ride safe and enjoy!! 🤩
Damn that looks like some good times
The road is always a great time lol even soaking wet and tired lol! Cheers and thanks for watching!! 🤩
Pretty awesome!
Wat cool🎉
Many riders only show the good stuff. I like the real all in stuff. Bikes need some love and so do we when it rains like hell. The use of a hotel room boot dryer can’t be replaced sometimes. Great video as usual.
Appreciate it! Thanks for watching! The good, the nots so fun, and the crazy times lol cheers
Great trip and your happy up beat attitude is the best. You have a wonderful channel.
Thank you Mark!! I really appreciate that! Cheers 🤩
G'day Sally, are you sure it was the bike that was shootin flames and backfiring.😂 Put a garbage bag over your pack and I always have some bread bags in my jacket pocket to cover my gloves and you could use them to cover sneaker,s as well. If there is one thing I've learnt in my forty eight years of riding is be prepared for all weather conditions when I set out on a ride, we can get four seasons in one day in my part of the world. That's a migthy looking rig at 10:33 minutes parked up there. Cheers Sally and thanks for taking us along for the ride, still watching from NZ. 👍
Normally we are more prepared, but were limited with space on the ironheads lol! And yeah that rig was a heavy hauler, super cool dudes, waiting for extra flaggers for state lines lol, we always get to chatting up truckers and hearing crazy road stories 🤣 cheeers!!!
Great video ! I’ll have to put that International Hotel on my bucket list !!! Been a few years since I’ve been across 50. Have to see if I have one more long ride left in me. Thx for taking us along. Stay dry 👍👍👍
Yaaassss! So much little small town gems and cool sites along hwy 50, definitely recommend! Thanks for watching! Ride safe out there 🤩🤩
Nice
Riders of the storm .... nice bikes .. hopin you make it
Good video!!
I love it, ya get to cook breakfast, that’s cool
LoL, i was volunteer/told to make some food hahaha!
Great video. Love those bikes, but at almost seventy years of age the bagger is the way to go for me. 😉
Wonderful bikes! My first Harley was a iron head sporty 👍🇬🇧
Awesome! Good ol Ironheads! So many people’s first Harley, a gem! lol cheers and thanks for watching
Would be awesome to have been there, rain and all. 👍✌️🤘
Thanks!! A rainy day on the bike is still better than not riding LOL thanks for watching!
Originally from Topeka KS. Riding 75 ironhead paucho rigid wide glide suicide shift I've made that trip many times .thanks for the memories
P.s. my Mexican poncho rides up front Everytime.. Eli Nevada love it
Always remember the Journey! Even after the next 'Dusk till Dawn' Haunted Inn dust up. lol. Events are often ruined by a few bad apples. The porta john will look better on the other side of the lot anyway just shove it over there. ;-) Ride safe and have a blast photographing mean people who don't know how to have a Motorcycle Event. Great work documenting what you have to do to ride one of these monster Ironhead's to distant lands. :D And sometimes even away from the mean Sheriff.
🤩🤩💯 thank youu!!! Soo true!! Appreciate it! Thanks
Thanks for sharing your adventure on HWY50 , very enjoyable .
Appreciate it! Thanks for watching!! Ride hard and ride safe!! 😁
Fkn eh, you guys do the ole school riders proud man, that over nighter at the International is story telling material, looks like an old super glide tank on his bike? Great vid guys and a helluva an adventure and that was only one way..... cheers🍻
Heck yeah! Thanks Mark, and yes you called it right on that tank! It fit the style well, and just needed a little tab welded to mount. LoL it means alot hearing we are doing the old skool ways proud. Keeping the lifestyle going 🤩🍻 cheers!
If I remember right.. Harley themselves put a super glide tank on the sportster and called it a Roadster .. rare as hens teeth here in good old … all older Harley’s are .. a lot you see here are later inports with prices to match..
I know what you are going through. We were in the smokey mountains, caught in a bad thunderstorm no place to pull off.
Ooof yeah, thunderstorms are no fun on bikes!
Great ride and fine bikes. I rode up along 50 through Nevada last year on my 1985 FLHTC on the way to Bellingham WA
Awesome! Now that’s quite a trip!
I remember that highway 50 me and my friend ride from Utah to Nevada never forget u show old bar and lonely highway it remind me it cool see again
Awesome! Thanks for watching!
I love Ironheads ,they are a riders bike;if you can not fix them you do not need to ride them.
Yes! Well said! A Riders Bike
I'm coming to think that I should search out an Ironhead Sportster, not sure I could live with that peanut tank, I'd be worrying about fuel all the time. Love your videos, thanks for the fun.
It’s not even a peanut tank, got 2.5gal and ironheads have better fuel mileage than big twins, so i can cruise 130-150 miles per tank 😁 thanks for watching!!
👍😎👍
Suck it up and enjoy love it and be safe.
Kickass! Another cool trip👍🇺🇲👍🇺🇲👍🇺🇲👍🇺🇲
🤩🤩 thanks for watching Mike!!
That was pretty cool wish I was out that way for some adventures I'm in NE CT. Pouring today the next few daze will be adventure bound 4me 78 shov it as my Bike and me say to this town Thanx for the inspection
Wishing you some sunny warm riding weather for your trip!!! Ride safe and have a blast! Shovelhead adventures 🤩
You need to write a book 📕
“Travels of Iron head Sally “
I enjoy your vids cause I built my softail back in 1997, built engine transmission. So I would know it inside out if any issues on the road . I would love to ride with you both. Be amazing adventure .
Have fun ride safe
From east coast of Canada 🇨🇦
Thank u!! Appreciate that! That is the way to go riding and wrenching on your own! Cheers and ride free 😎🦅🏁💯💚
Cool trip. I bet you'll invest in some waterproof bags. I use a waterproof od green army laundry bag that I've had for years. But even heavy duty garbage bags would do wonders.
Ye are not dreamers ye are the real deal modern day easy riders ye look cool very good at getting your bikes running. Bikes look great I wish you the luck of the Irish. peace from Ireland.
Thank you so much! We sure could use all the good vibes and luck with these bikes 😂😁 appreciate ya watching! Cheers and ride free
Haven't seen you guys in awhile Ironhead.
Great content from uk.
Great shots of the bikes. Looks like summer in South Wales UK 😂
Oooof, you deal with this all the time! I would have to give in and get a front fender if we were over there 😅
I used to take my bike in the room when I got one with newspaper on the floor.
Love to ride....hate getting wet. I do pack everything in zip bags and garbage bags so the only thing to dry is ME. Love the vid wish I was there.
Nice, we werent as prepared this trip, lol, but was still fun! Ride free and ride safe out there! Cheers!
Rich in the rear to cool off that one and lean in front for better combustion. Air cooled rely on rich for cooling the valves and so off. Not allowed with newer bikes due to emission mitigation. Nice adventure.
Hmmhmm yessir, the emissions on newer bikes are just peachy 🤣 lol thanks for watching! Cheers
9:25 I dry Tshirts, socks and pants like this. I zipty all opening but one shut, then feed a hairdryer through the remaining opening. With the hairdryer on hot the garment really balloons and is dry very quickly.
Ohhh good idea! lol
Much respect riding a rigid. I would have lost a kidney in the first couple miles and bled out of my ass from a busted hemorrhoid. Sucks getting old.
Ehh my kidneys are already destroyed, lol it does take a toll after a few days. I pop up from my seat often, its like a little workout routine for my legs to pop up and avoid the bumps haha! Yeah my ol man was definitely feeling it on the ironhead by the end of the trip. LoL. Cheers! And thanks for watching!!!
iron heads rule
Love to ride highway 50: spent days in Austin a couple of times met some nice Nevadans
Yea its been a wet year. But I'm glad your still enjoying it. Im getting tired of seeing all the side by sides at motorcycle rallies but for me its all about the ride anyways
Right?! Rallies and bike meet-ups aren’t about the ride or checking out bikes anymore. lol i’ll remember someone’s bike before i remember their face 🤣 cheers Joe! Ride hard and ride safe!
No front fender and lots of rain…….😅 yea! Been there done that. Will probably do it again.😊
Ohh yeah! I’m a weaney with my bubble shield so i dont take it straight to the face 😁😁😅😂 lol cheeers!
I used jumbo trash bags. 3 of them. Cut hole for your head , then wrap the other around my legs. Duct tape them. Looks fun. Be safe.
LoL! That’ll work in a pinch! We’ve used yard trash bags for our camping gear too.
Holy smokes .. this is tops … seeing real American … you just got a sub and I’ve got some catching up to do ..👍
🤩🤩 thanks for watching! Cheers and ride safe!!
Coming from someone who's the most trashy most places I go, you guys are doing just fine.
LoL, thanks! You sound fun, keep the property values low wherever ya go right 😎🤣
@@ironheadsally Loud and covered in rust. No other way. 👍
By the way, is that a La Pera seat? I was looking to get the Signature 2. Wondering how it's holding up if it is.
@@DarksideSleemo absolutely love this seat! No saddle sore and super comfy. Definitely recommend, its pricey but worth it
@@ironheadsally That's generally been my experience with seats. If you want it to be nice, you really gotta spend. Thanks for the info. You've made up my mind.
I got lucky heading east. I ran out of fuel, hit the reserve tank and chugged 54mi to gas, on the reserve! It's lonely out there! Hihi.
Wow 54 on reserve! That’s a nail biter cruising and looking for the next gas stop!
I’m typing this way too early before I’m finished watching the whole video but shooting flames sometimes, and backfiring sounds like an intake leak
indeeeed
Yup, open air bleed and I’ve blown some gaskets lol, she is due for a top end rebuild once the cold comes lol. I just said screw it, and had to pull over every 60 miles lol i think it was detonating cuz it would happen more when it was hotter.
@@ironheadsally 😬
This is how it used to be. We used a rest area tables as a bed on many road trips in the 80’s. Between 6 of us there wasn’t 3 tents.
I envy you lol back when things were more free, lil harder to go to jail 🤣 lol thanks for watching! 🤘
@@ironheadsally I came into the shovel head era and never could wrap my head around a evo. They just don’t have the same soul that the older ones had. I had a shirt as a kid that said “if it don’t gallup it’s not a Harley” still feel that way even tho my daily is a ultra limited.
Ya got to remember that a lot of trips in the 80’s had about 15 minutes of dreaming and 20 minutes of packing before leaving. Not overly responsible but that’s the way it went
That is soo awesome, less stuff, less planning and more living! LoL 🤩
Fussy bike and rain… I’m still jealous!
Thanks Mike! Cheers and ride hard 🤩😎
You are welcome to come ride here in blistering forever sunny 🇬🇧… we never .. ever .. get rain .. EVER…..😂😂😂
🤣🤣😜 ohh i can imagine you have some creative ways to deal with the rain lol
In England we pack all our gear in plastic trash bags for waterproofing 😎
Good call, yeah we have little plastic inside our big bags, we were expecting desert weather 🤣 boy did we judge wrong lol!
Electronic ignition or either your running points and condenser that's why I carried sand paper and channel locks and matches a book of matches you know
I know it’s weird but. Eureka is one of my favorite places
I get that, it’s such a sweet little town all tucked away in some beautiful country 🤩 sounds like they have cool events there from talking to locals
Absolutely Love to see riders on motorcycles that don't have huge fairings , windshields, luggage racks, etc. Next thing bagger riders will do is install doors and a roof on their bike! Baggers are just two wheel Minivans in my book!
🤣🤣🤣 truth! It’s getting more rare (atleast where we go) we almost never see another bike on the highway without a fairring atleast, its all baggers or adventure bikes. LoL cheers and ride hard and ride free! Thanks for watching
The hair blower? best way to dry anything you washed and even wet boots or sneakers i always carried the small compact one , Peace.
Sweeet! Thanks for watching!
Wet socks and gloves are what the hand dryers in the toilets are really for.
Soo true! Those gas station hand dryers have been used often for clothes and hair while riding 🤣
I'm a proud Hillbilly biker
Coolsville
You guys rock.😊
🤩😎 thanks for watching!!
20:21 just thought u might wanna know... Vic has been dead for 50 yrs! Lol U guys stay safe out there.
😱🫣🤯 ohh my lol
Sportsters are perfect girls bikes
🤣 yup just a girls bike…great comment dude…
Yep, those open air bleeds on the intake manifold and carb are screwing you up for sure.
Ohh yeah, i totally forgot to plug that up when i removed the switch lol putting miles on always lets me know if i missed something LOL cheers!
I myself am looking to get me a 1981 iron head 1000
Awesome!!! Gotta love ironheads, they are plentiful and cheap 😁 hope u find ur gem
I always take my bike into my motel room with me.
...& cowboys do more dope than rock n rollers.
(According to David Allen Coe, anyway)
Woooot!! Heck yeah!!!
I was wondering if you knew a good bike shop that you could trust to rebuild a motor in Colorado
In Colorado Springs, hit up Corey Amburgy 719-373-8763 😁 he’s got some parts from us now actually and he fixed my dad’s twin cam heads in an afternoon. Solid dude.
For me it's not the destination it's the journey back to the international would have been where I was at
🦅🏁💚😁 he tried to get us to stay lol such a cool ol dude!
Should start a rally at the international.
Ooooooooooh, that would be something! 🧐😁 the motel acros the street is closed down and it’d be perfect for single gear drag races and bike games 😜
Sally...front headgasket?
Did you tighten down your head bolts a bit to stop the oil leak
Cranked down the rockerboxes and all engine mounts and she was good to go! The head bolts are all tight, but that gasket aint holding up 😂
One more thing at least your not pulling them on a trailer lol
Truth! lol
Why couldn't I ever find a woman like that???
Bungee straps always break.
For safety, I always use rat-shit straps.
Good point! And in a pinch, we have used ratchet strap to tow start my other bike when the starter broke 🤣
haha Ride to VC? chopper dude still ride? i didn't like the video at first than you talked shit about the chopper cowboys living in apartment in fresco than that made me love the channel.. good shit keep the rubber side down peace and love.
🤘😂 thanks! Cheers and ride free!!
Hey Sally, where do you get those blankets from?
The handlebar blankets, we got in Mexico when we went to the El Diablo Run. Better quality than the blankets like these they sell em all over truck stops in the US.
Ironheads, might be a bit finicky, but they will always get you home and no other bike or Harley sounds or feels like one! Inherently not much different from the evo's!
Yes yes yes!!! 🤩 ironheads get home, limping leaking and angry, but they get home 🤣 lol thanks for watching
I have ridden ironheads from NY out to Nebraska, to Marin Cou ty, CA, back to NY.
Just needed points and push rod adjustments!!!!!
They are Great Bikes!!!!!
