Sir it is my earnest request that you please write a book of Trumpet Notations containing fingering notations of famous tunes and songs. There are books on guitar ,harmonium and other instruments but not a single book is for Trumpet.I think it will be a great help to all of us trumpet lovers . My goodwishes and regards to you.
greetings from California . . . this gentleman has wonderful solid trumpet technique! But it is a real mystery that he doesn't use staff-notation in his teaching. Staff-notation is the standard worldwide for trumpet education, with one exception; learning jazz-improvising and jazz-songs "by ear," but that is normally at very advanced levels.
Well said! But in India, new learners are comfortable with these types of notes rather than staff notations. In global, they use to start learning staff notations from school days. But in India, we don’t those kinds of training.
@@VSchoolofMusic thanks for having this nice discussion! As a professional musician/music teacher myself, I'm always trying to find the best ways of not only teaching, but learning also because that is another lifelong process. With this in mind, there is no excuse to ignore "staff-notation" in the same way we can't properly teach languages without "reading and writing." Imagine saying, "in global, they use computers/drive cars/go to doctors, but in India . . . . ?
Yes, that is the question. And let's be honest, it's not an issue of "western" notes. Staff-notation has been the accepted world-standard in teaching trumpet and most modern instruments for decades at least. If you study trumpet in any major country except one, you'll find widely-accepted lesson-books using staff-notation. I would be happy to recommend some for you; I've been a professional player/recording artist with many years teaching experience here in Southern California. And I can tell, this gentleman is a very fine trumpet player with excellent technical foundation. This should be a great public forum for learning and sharing, not about anything negative or insulting, by the way.
