RIP Sam. I wish I could have talked with you as I too have a passion for all machines involved with filmmaking.

Really strange feeling watching a video for a man who passed away... Feeling that you are living in the past when this human still alive

Haven't you ever watched a movie on Turner Classic Movies? Almost all of those people are dead. Nothing strange about it at all. As the stockpile of high-quality video increases for each generation that comes along behind us, more and more of them will be watching movies and videos featuring people who are no longer living. I'm guessing you are under....40 or probably even 30. Just wait until life goes into hyperdrive, and you wake up one morning to find you are 65 or 70 years old, and you say to yourself, WTF just happened?

From some comments below I see that Sam has passed away. Does anyone know if he had family that may know of the whereabouts of his old movie camera collection?

This is sad news. I learned a lot from Sam when I corresponded with him in the early 2000s. He was very patient with all of my questions. I was about to rekindle the friendship and ask him if he had any cameras for sale but I suppose his executors have scattered them all the four corners. Sam will live forever in TH-cam and our memories. RIP Sam.

Sam, are you the collector that purchased my grandfather’s (Gore) movie camera from his daughter, my mother? In a search on my grandfather I saw a letter from Wes Lambert to you about my grandfather’s camera.

Sam unfortunately passed away four or five years ago, at least from what I understand from the comments :(
