- Leave the Satisfactory train mayhem to Let's Game It Out and check out this quick tutorial on how to build a clean and simple 4 way train intersection and signal it properly.
This video will show you my building pattern for 4 way train intersections in my Satisfactory world, 2 options for signal setups, and a demo of the differences in how the 2 signal designs operate.
The design can be used anywhere in you Satisfactory playthrough where you need two track to cross and avoid derailing each other, but yet still maintain throughput. These designs will work for any Satisfactory version, including Update 7. Sadly, the build is too large to include in a blueprint.
You will get a bunch a tips on train track placement and signaling that you can put into practice during your Satisfactory gameplay.

Thanks. I watched several other videos that did a terrible job of explaining the signals. You nailed it. Got all my stuff working immediately after watching :)
Sweet! Glad it worked for you and thanks for the comment
9:30 this short sentence just helped me incredibly much
THANK YOU. you are the first person to explain this in a way i can understand. I couldn't figure out how to put in the path signals to make a though put on my intersections.
my pleasure Jasen. It was something that took me a while to get my head around as well and I am glad that it helped you
This is the 5th video ive searched for pathing signals and I've seen all the main channels. Well done, this was the most helpful and descriptive!
Thanks so much Juan! I made this one because I didn’t like the other ones. Glad it was helpful
Best railroad track tutorial for this game that I've found! Thanks for the excellent explanation and showing all of the steps.
Thanks Nathan! Glad you liked it and found it helpful
Truly fantastic video and extremely easy to follow. I wouldn't consider myself a Satisfactory novice but trains... trains scare me. This video is going to help me immensely!
Don’t be scared! They make it so much better to get you and your stuff around the map. Glad this helps
Really great explanation thanks. Trains are a bit daunting for me. But this gives me the confidence to start a train network.
Awesome to hear! There is a lot of track to lay, but you only have to do it once. You can always just add more trains. It is worth the investment
great explanaion!
Thanks mama!
Hello ! Brilliant video, thanks a lot, i stumbled across a video of "Amelie of the sea" (some times ago) where she explain how to do a 4 way intersection (without as much details as this one) but without crossing. Could you do a video of that kind of intersection like this one ? So I/we'll able to replicate it easier ? :D :D
Keep up the good work though, it's nice to watch your videos ! ;)
I can link the video if you want, but i don't wan't to "steal" your viewers !
I think I know the video that you are talking about. Like a cloverleaf intersection on a freeway. I would have to figure it out myself first, but I will put it on the list of ideas.
Glad you liked the video!
would this cause colisions if the trains are longer that the intersection?
Nope. It doesn’t let the next train go until it clears the intersection. If you put multiple of these intersections closer together than the length of your trains, you could have issues
Do you still have collisions from time to time if two trains cross the same point at the same time?
Nope. Not if you signal the intersection like I have it in this vid. I have a ton of trains running hundreds of hours and never had a crash
It should be noted that you're not going up 3 and over 3 foundations. You're going up and over 2.5 foundations.
That is an excellent point and consider it noted. Particularly since this is something that requires precision.
I have always thought of it as 3x3 because that is how many foundations to put down, but you are correct
Is there a mod that allows you to put more than one junction at a switch? I thought the game didn't allow that?
The game lets you do one-to-many (e.g. a "Y"), but it doesn't let you do many-to-many (e.g. an "X"). Edit: and if you look closely at the intersection in this video, the switches all respect that principle.
Spencer nailed it. This is vanilla and it works for the reason he stated.
Thanks for the assist!
@@rellify3 Ah, I guess I had only tried it in an "X" configuration. But then, I only have about 300 hours at it... Thanks!
Is there a difference between a 4 Way Intersection and a roundabout?
Yep. A roundabout is where all of the train enter the same strip of circular track and then exit towards their desired destination.
4-way intersection is like a road junction with four stop signs or yields.
These are much easier to build and signal properly, take up less room, and don’t gridlock as easy as roundabouts.
Roundabouts look cool though! 😎
I use roundabout when the entries and exits come at an angle other than 90°. You can also build a big 0 when more than 4 roads cross each others. When you use path signals in and block signals out it works fine.
