We are from Hasiru Agri Tourism, conducting our farm visit in SLN Plantation, Kushalnagar on 26th November.
SLN Plantation in Kushalnagar is a must visit for all enthusiastic agriculturist. SLN is a well known Plantation in coorg, they have many different crops growing at SLN. Why would it be interesting for everyone to see this Plantation? - For example their Robusta Plantation is high yielding and they also buy fruits from planters on consignment basis and they sell them at an agreed basis with the planters.
They also have good pepper Plantation. They have won the IPC award in 2015 for pepper. They also process white pepper and it would be interesting to see how this process is done at the estate.
They also have cardamom Plantation which is a must see. They also have dryer and polisher and it would be good to see how to process cardamom and sell it at premium price.
We have seen there is lot of problem with coffee waste which is not being treated correctly in many estates. In SLN using Effulent Treatment Plant to minimize the pollution from coffee waste.
They have used latest technology for washing and pulping coffee have been adapted at SLN Plantation.
There are so many more things to learn and see in this estate. Please register for the farm visit on 26th November - it will be a good day of learning and interaction with other fellow farmers.
