    Yeah, that's one thing about the Philippines, you never run out of places to explore. Each island has its own unique vibe. If you are willing to go out of the more popular tourist spots, I guarantee that you will be rewarded. There are a lot of hidden gems just waiting to be discovered. Enjoy and be safe!

    I'm sure you've found more than enough things to keep you busy on Camiguin, but just in case you are still there and looking for things to do, I found the Giant Clams Sanctuary in the village of Cantaan quite interesting. I just stumbled across it while riding around the island long ago (it's on the Southeastern tip), and it was a pleasant surprise. If you happen to be driving past, it's worth popping in to check it out. And bring your new snorkeling gear. 🙂

      Aw sounds amazing!

      @@RobandJenny I don't know if I'd go so far as amazing. 🙂 It was a while ago, so my memory is a bit foggy, but there was definitely a rough-and-ready feeling to the place. It's not a super-polished super-organized kind of attraction. But, for me, that was part of its charm. It was quirky and kind of funky, and I think you can have a great experience there or a disappointing one depending on your expectations.
      But in the end, you learn a lot about giant clams and you get a tour through the facilities by local school children and see lots of clams at different life stages in the tanks. And then you can snorkel over the fields of giant clams that have been brought to the sanctuary out in the open water. Knowing nothing about giant clams before I found this place, I had a good experience overall.
      I just did a quick online check for reviews, and it looks like my good memories are pretty accurate. A lot of people rate the Giant Clams Sanctuary as the highlight of their trip to Camiguin. Though, as with most places in the Philippines, some people complain about the seemingly endless fees that get folded into the cost of the experience. 🙂

      @RobandJenny  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PlanetDoug aha yes we've experienced the constant dipping into our wallets for more fees 😂
      Sounds like a really sweet experience. We've met some awesome people here who fell in love with Camiguin 10-20 years ago and chose to stay. Sounds like it has gotten a lot busier since perhaps you were here, but we still love the charm of the place 😁

    Paguia’s cottages... paid P600 for an AC room 3 years ago. Try pastel in camiguin it’s as good as Cinnabon. The Pool resorts are worth checking out and the mountain drive is amazing... theRe are number of falls and cafe to enjoy.

    Haven’t been to Camiguin or the whole Mindanao region of Philippines. There were some travel warnings for Mindanao when we went and not sure if they are still valid but I am sure it’s only parts of Mindanao that have issues.
    Looks good like any other islands in the Philippines so maybe on the list for a future visit to Philippines.

    • @RobandJenny
      @RobandJenny  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah there are still travel concerns for most of Mindanao. Luckily camiguin is a separate province from Mindanao so it's not affected by that. 😀

    • @criscris-re5uu
      @criscris-re5uu 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Man the travel warnings are just a small part of Mindanao, any country can be the same. When you start to travel and to think about bad things better not travel at all it will ruin the trip.

    • @MuhammadIamhardBrucelee
      @MuhammadIamhardBrucelee 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      cris cris The actual problem may be confined to small part of Mindanao but the travel warning has been around for the whole of the Mindanao region by multiple countries. They basically warn you to avoid Southern Philippines.
      Well unless you know ground reality, it’s safe to avoid the Southern area. The way I see it, there is plenty left and only limited time so why risk going to an area that has travel warnings?
      Bad things and terrorism risks are completely different things. Unless they isolate the area of Mindanao, people are going to skip the entire region.

      @@MuhammadIamhardBrucelee some foreign vloggers are living deep within Mindanao and are doing quite well, building their own beachfront houses, collab-ing from time to time and are exploring even deeper into the mountains of central and southwest Mindanao.
