@Incognito Seán they can get pretty loud about the same as a table saw just a little bit quieter on 35k rpms
a cute little bear! i thought detailed expression for fur and eyes can be difficult but looks amazingly balanced.

I'm looking into getting some tools and trying out this form of wood carving but i've seen alot of reviews of the dremel which have said it breaks very quickly? Have you found it to be durable? And why do you use the two separate tools?

Luke Burrows I started first with Dremel 3000 but it wasn’t powerful enough to remove wood fast especially harder woods. Dremel much louder than the other. I still using the same one without any problems. The other one is a Foredom very powerful with corse or extreme bits thats why i like it. As you see on the videos i start with Foredom and finish with Dremel because the smaller hand piece. If later I able to buy thinner hand piece for the Foredom i will retire my Dremel. I wish I had 10% of your vision, dexterity and control. Congratulations. Could you please describe dust control system you are using? I assume you are using the Dremel flex shaft. Your guidance about the carving bits would be helpful
Shailesh Shah Hi My dust collector is my table. Thats a box sealed on top is a pegboard. On the bottom there is a 4 inch outlet. It connected to my dust collector what suck all the dust out. Pretty much that’s it. About bits I using Kutzall bits for fast wood removing. All the details i using diamond bits. You can able to buy it on eBay as a set and chose what’s you like. Thats same with Kutzall bits. There is many shapes and sizes you have to try some so you can see which one you likes. I using 4 kinds and that’s enough for me.

Hello. I have bought a Wolfcraft flexible shaft, maximum 3500 rot/min (for the drilling machine). Is it possible to carve with a rotary rasp at such low speed? I think maybe it would be possible with rotary burrs. But with rotary rasp, you think it's possible? What's the minimum speed you use with the foredom?
You need higher speed. Both Foredom and Dremel run low speed too but won’t do anything. Run it like 10-15000 rpm
