Saved some annual leave from 2019 for some big trips abroad in 2020 and ... stayed at home. The plus side? Discovered lots of places near me that I probably wouldn't have discovered had I been travelling abroad and realised that travelling local can be interesting too.
New content? Germany, some caribbean islands, Cyprus, anywhere they'll have you really.

It's a shame that you had to rush back, since you are one of the few channels to show hidden and underrated parts of Italy!
Next time you'll be back there you should visit Craco, a medieval hilltop town abandoned and left in ruins, that would be a maginificent comeback for you guys!
What the Beans showed of Italy was breathtaking. I very much look forward to a long visit as soon as we're able to travel again. I'll add Craco and Sicily to my list for that visit.

Although there are still street food traders in many places. Please support small independents. They're just hanging on.
I’ve had to cancel several trips due to COVID, including a three week stay in Italy and - very ironically - attendance at the 2020 production of the great Oberammergau Passion play, which has been postponed for two years. Ironic because the once every ten year production began as an act of Thanksgiving but the good folks of Oberammergau being saved from the plague! On that trip I was also going to lead a group to Prague, Budapest, Vienna, Salzburg and Munich. For your future travels to Italy I strongly suggest you explore the region of Le Marche that is often overlooked. If you do, then be sure to visit not only Urbino but also the nearby town of Urbania- where I once spent 4 months during summer learning Italian and getting to know the wonderful local people. Be sure to visit the hilltop towns of Piobbico, Monte Nerone and San Leo as well. Cheers!
I just found your videos and I love them.. I give you my subscription as a reward for your effort and good job despite of the pandemic and the last second decision of British Government about travel quarantine for people coming back to UK from Italy.

Great video! Long haul drives are TOUGH. I’ve had 2 cruises canceled, 1 postponed, Disneyworld cancelled, and I’m sure I’ve forgotten others. Instead I got to have abdominal surgery!!!! I watched your video before leaving for a mammogram which made me smile so thank you! You guys are great at spreading joy and I thank you for it guys. Sleep well and survive the next day’s drive. Thanks for keeping the torch lit, we've been really struggling this year not being able to travel in our van, had planned a trip to Scotland for a week as I finally have my first week's leave from being a carer all year but had to just go to peak District as it's closer to home, better than full lockdown though! Lol just feeling like there's no end in sight and sometimes watching travel vlogs just makes me more depressed and feeling trapped but then I remind myself we watched these vlogs whilst getting Page and converting her and we have lots of adventures ahead I'm sure 🤞

Covid made me cancel 2 trips to Las Vegas, one with my Dad and one my annual trip with my friends. Also missed a family party outside of Washington DC.

we had to cancel our trip to the US, California in September and we're very sad because we planned this for over a year now. But instead we had an amazing trip in germany to the baltic sea and learned how to sail and get our boat liscence in sailing and motor boat. That actually was cool and we loved it. California then maybe next year!
Yes I have had to cancel my trip this spring to Nevada and parts west.
I now have plans to do it this next spring. Van travels as originally planed. I could have gone this year but so much was closed,
hopefully things will open fully in the spring.
I completely feel for you. I'm a Canadian who had to cancel a May trip to Iceland to be postponed to October which is now postponed until May 2021. Plans have to be agile during this time. Safe journey back to the U.K.

We are with you guys! Just a few weeks ago we were on a 3 week long road trip trough Sweden. Unfortunately our camper van broke down. After 5 days on the road. We barely made it into Sweden. The drive belt snapped which is the worst thing that could happend. Repair would have take weeks to finish. So we then had to get home by bus, train, ferry and hire car which was an adventure in itself. Our van with lots of personal stuff and a good part of our clothing is still in Sweden (or hopefully now at his way home). That didn't go as planned... :-)

Bummer! Your Italy serine has been amazing, introducing me to fabulous places I’ve never heard of. COVID has has so far robbed us of a trip to Cozumel, Mexico back in May, as well as a southern Caribbean cruise vacation that we were supposed to go on in early November. Hoping to be able to do both in 2021. Trying to make the best of the situation, visiting the beach and hopefully the mountains in our state of North Carolina, USA. We’ve been so fortunate to have kept our jobs and not lose anyone to COVID, so I hate to complain too much, but all these plans cancelled due to COVID is so disappointing!

My trip in November has been canceled. I live in the USA and my parents are in Canada. I have not seen them since we were there last November. They usually come to the USA a couple times during the year and were probably going to be here in May but we all know what happened. I have been living vicariously through you while in Italy. Pretending that I don't drive 12 hours a day for a living. ;)

COVID Cancelled trip: This past spring we had an amazing trip planned that would hit Amsterdam, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Ireland, England, and a quick stop in Luxembourg. But COVID just laughed in our face and said, “Awe, that’s cute. NOPE!”

Had a four week cruise to New Zealand, Tahiti, Bora Bora and Hawaii cancelled in April, also had our three week trip to South Africa cancelled for Christmas too 😩 can’t wait to travel again soon
St Ives would be nice to visit and a trip to Penzance and not forgetting the beautiful Scilly Isles.

As far as cancelled/modified plans go, I had a road trip into Canada and through Banff cancelled, so I circled south instead and did Yellowstone. Honestly, I can't complain. Still turned out great.
Can you travel and then edit during quarantine? I love the Italy videos. I’m American and was supposed to be in Paris this week, hopefully it will open up soon.

We love you Beans! My husband and I fell upon you weeks ago and have been binge watching for hours on weekends. Our three children even request “The Beans” for shows now! You asked and were answering! (As we lived in the UK for three years, 6 years ago) one of our favourite places was Snowdon. We loved the mountains, the lakes and hikes. Please take a trip up to Wales, although right now they are also on a restriction travel ban as well! So, scrap that, just go somewhere safe and give us some smiles and food! How sad, this virus is sucky! Had to cancel our trip to HI twice and who knows when we will get to go but, haven't lost our jobs or gotten sick so, thankful for that. OK, congrats on 80K!

It would be great to see you travel to Canada. Perhaps do a cross country tour starting in Newfoundland, through Quebec, Ontario, and the prairies, and ending in British Columbia.
My wife had secretly planned a trip to New Caledonia for us for my 40th this year in may....so that was not happening...you should both come to New Zealand. We have plenty of room ;) and have re elected jacinda for another 3 years!
Do you also got this funny restrictions like Australia seems to have? Living on an island far away from other big land has become dangerous, if the goverment suddenly suffers from mental illness and corruption.
@@karstent.66 haha yeah sadly to come here you must quarantine for 2 weeks as we have no cases in new Zealand outside of the quarantine facilities that we know of...
@@karstent.66 our “funny” restrictions have resulted in no cases in Victoria for 6 days straight and only a couple in one other state.

We visited lake Como this year in September and it was stunningly beautiful! Especially the NOT Tourist places!
I was supposed to go to North Carolina this past March and run a marathon (not everybody's thing but I love it) and eat at some really good restaurants I'd heard about and do at least one guided hike. The race and the trip were cancelled only a week before they were supposed to happen. We weren't actually on stay at home locally until the week after I was supposed to travel (and I'm not sure what North Carolina did specifically). And even now the US is on nearly everybody's bad list (for good reason). Within the US it's even hard to travel because some states require quarantine if you are traveling in from certain other states, but you would have to look everything up individually...
Hope you make the UK by the deadline. As a US traveler, I just finished my 14/day self quarantine in Ireland, doesn't matter much now since everything is closed anyway for the remaining 2/wks here. Will probably have to self quarantine for another 14/days when I return to the USA.

Hey, a quick comment, just found your videos and love watching them with envy ! I would LOVE a video on what you guys take along with you as you travel, meaning, all your luggage ! Is it a backpack or two, or 2 suitcases each, and what clothes do you take? How many pairs of underwear, shirts, jeans, shorts, jackets. Do you buy clothes as you go and then leave some behind? What about laundry? Then how far in advance do you plan for your next trip? How long do you stay, how do you plan for the next country, etc. ! So many questions....with this quarantine and being stuck indoors, im sure you could make several videos on the logistics of this. LOVE your videos, thank you !

So trying Europe too. Turkey nogo. Now Italy. So off to Athens this Wednesday on a one-way ticket. Let's see how that fairs. Happy Beans to one and all. 👍

I was supposed to go to a conference back in the states ( I live in Australia now) and then go back to the east coast for a visit. And I was supposed to go to the Olympics in Tokyo. The universe and COVID had different plans:-( But at least I have more time to watch your videos:-)
And, as in my case, your other half is welcome you are not travelling to conferences and enjoying hotel food and wine in foreign places whilst they are sorting out children etc :)
Every trip this year has been canceled. Cruise in April, camping in Canada, and my daughters boyfriend has to cancel his move to the States 😢

I was supposed to be in Australia in May to go skydiving on my birthday! 😭😭😭
My wife and I have had four packaged tours booked for 2020 and January of '21 cancelled. Also two European river cruises and an Alaskan cruise put on hold. We have close to $10,000 in travel credits tied up awaiting the day sanity returns. Back in early June of this year Portugal announced they would let Americans back into visit. Immediately I booked airfare, car rental and Air BnB in Madera. A week later the Portuguese government changed their minds and we had to cancel that trip as well. Right now we are on Day Two of trying RV life in Upstate NY. So far I hate it. Give me a hotel with lots of space, clean showers and toilets, quiet, heat and the ability to easily hop into my car and eat at a restaurant.

Normally I would have traveled to Oludeniz Turkey yesterday, October 28, 2020, but due to the Corona Virus Covid 19 this was canceled at the last minute :-( Now I have to wait until March 6, 2021, before I can go on vacation to Oludeniz - Turkey again :-)

COVID Cancelled Trip - Last June my yearly trip home to Italy was cancelled. I have got one planned for Christmas, but it will be cancelled as well, most likely. A 2-month vacation as soon as this shit is over.
