I'm afraid of russian AC modders who try to DDos every big ACC event. Patreons pay 5 up to 20€/month, ACC costs 20€ once. So modders got a huge interest to act shady. Best GT & track mods for AC are ported from ACC, so you can see Kunos really does better. I pay for good honest work. Thats why I got Ac & ACC + DLCs twice, plus bought both a third time to introduce a friend further into sim.
Gamermuscle pleaase finally push AC modded races on LFM. People complain about modabillity yet you can see on LFM nobody is really interested in modded races. I try to fill servers every day off. People gonna jump to ACE for good reason. And I"m super excited. Till then I play ACC because there is an active racing comminity. On Ac multiplayer only 3-5 out of 24 finish race.
I'm probably in the minority here, but i don't use that many mods in AC1 apart from CM, CSP and sol? Sure i have the odd car and track i play around with, but i still spend most of my time playing with kunos content. While they are some exceptionally good mods that can keep up with the quality of kunos, most of the mods simply don't. AC1 isn't going anywhere, people will still play and mod it for years to come. Especially for the silly stuff. As for how they want to do their mod support, i think beamNG does this perfectly. They have their own repository that is curated and doesn't allow stuff that should be licensed, and then there's the wild west outside of that. Beam can now say "look, we have our repository that we take responsibility for, whatever's outside of that isn't officially supported and we're not liable for" Idk how eager car companies will be to give out their licenses, but i think some of them have got it through their heads that getting your car into a game is massive advertisement. Porsche didn't buy overtake for nothing. But at least the tracks should be very willing to hand out their licenses, especially the smaller ones! If you can say "alright, here's the license for the track, but you have to include our current sponsors" that's a win win for everyone.
I have the same high standards for AC1 mods - but even then I use dozens of mod cars and tracks (RSS, VRC, URD hypercars and GT3s, laser-scanned tracks).
@@Atticvs32 so true. I've been playing the heck out of RSS 2000s GT1 mod. It's like a classic version of gt3 today, except you got Ferraris with beautiful sounding v12s. Lambo v12s too. Dodge viper v10. Salleen American v8. Lister v12. Its amazing! So beautiful sounding compared to mosern gt3. I also likee RSS + VRCS LMP900 &. 90S GT1 paired with kunos 90s gt1 cars and URDs GT1 (though the sound is quite mid and i recommend replacement, its bad, the modelling of interior is okay too, but handling is great). Anyway these cars are like LMP1s or hypercars with actually good sounding engines!!!! Whats not to like?
Well, a lot of modders announced that they're waiting for ACE to port their mods into. I hope we will finally see PM3DM's late Super Touring pack in full form.
You would think they will want to , especially car moders but who knows what random stuff will happen with AC1 in the future lol - of all mod platforms I think only really ARMA and Beam are in the same sort of catagory as AC1 even then AC1 is basically its own separate game these days from original ac.
@@eagletrippin are you slow? those mods are meant to make ac graphics better they tweak with acs code. ac evo will have a different code and it already has good graphics
AC1 is here to stay at least for a while because of the already existing huge mod library. However, I can see if ACE is good enough that most people will just switch. With time, even the mods will follow the player base if ACE takes them away from AC1, which will only stay for niche and unlicensed mods. The key word is ACE must be "good enough" both with the driving experience and the moding possibilities. That remains to be seen.
The way the CEO talks about "modding" is it will be tightly "controlled" by Kunos. What I want is open file access and ability to change the hp curve and linkage lengths, etc... I don't think Evo will ever have that kind of access. So AC will be an eternal cult classic for some.
I'm already subscribed, but I'm fully capable of hair loss and bad driving on my own, thanks. I'll probably be playing both until Evo fulfils all the things that AC1 currently does for me. I still fire up rFactor 1 from time to time just for the Hitorix GT mod.
Absolutely amazing. AC EVO will be an all in one solution that gives you everything AC1 did with all mods. What more can you want? The big difference is, that it will be easily accessible for everyone because you just download the main game and enjoy it as it is.
Yah I'd love for it all to be streamlined and "just works" I and i think most people just CBA with some of the 90s PC BS that some games expect you to put up with lol.
What I want, but am afraid I won't get, is the ability to open up car files and change the hp curve, the suspension type and linkage lengths, the tire width, etc... Instead of file access, we'll have to grind points to spend on upgrades like in FM or GT7. AC Evo doesn't look to have totally open file access.
In the long run I think AC1 will become what R.B.R. (Richard Burns Rally) is today, seeing as there are still people making mods for R.B.R. to this day and it is 20 years old now.
I reckon all the big mod studios with their own IP will be jumping straight to ACE with ports. Anything unreleased might get finished and released to AC1 first, but going forward they'll be making for the newer platform first once they have figured out thee pipelines. AC1's got a decade of back catalog though and is great. It's not going to be replaced overnight even if ACE is awesome. I'd argue modding in the ARMA2->3 & Source->OrangeBox was pretty successful. Indie games just kind of took up a lot of the mantle that modding did since it's way easier and accessible to actually get into building your own projects now with game engines, where as modding has become more difficult on newer games.
I agree ! - especially that now people just make unreal games instead of modding like they used to I'm not sure if I said it in the video I might have cut it out lol I wanted to keep the video focused on AC but there is intresting aspects to how modding has changed over the years
I'm excited for ACE. I've been playing AC1 for 6-7 years now. It's my favorite sim by far but sometimes all the fiddly shit of fixing issues with updates and mods can be a huge frustration. Also as nice as CSP/Pure makes the game look there is just to many things that look super dated that mods cannot fix. The reason I enjoy AMS2 so much is that I can easily get in game , nothing to fiddle with , VR looks and runs amazing and its just load up and have fun. I'm certainly not going to stop playing AC1 but I'm very excited to play ACE.
Bring it on! I just bought a CSL DD bundle after being out of the force feedback scene for 12 years. I'm pretty excited for ACE but dipping toes back into AC again this week has been super inspiring, i just can't fathom how they can top it tbh, the FFB is insane to me... or maybe it's just coz i'm coming from a Fanatec CSR Elite (belt drive and horrid pos)
2:00 the problem with that is (from what i hear) a lot of the modders actively worked with kunos on some scale for ac2, so likely dont have that ambition to outdo ac2 in ac1.
The big interest of CSP is to keep AC1 up to date and it's only at 0.24 preview 1! Can you all imagine what will happen within 1 ->2 years reaching versions like 0.35 or 0.4 or 0.5? i don't wanna even mention the release in future of v1.00 of CSP. AC1+CSP will never die because CSP team has hacked the game (it's like now another game) and will keep adding features, improving what they have already released then bugfixing it and for sure will add a serious damage model too. If CSP will keep update AC1 will never die. Trust me guys. Kunos has created with AC1 a monster and that monster can eat up everything in the next years too.
I'll live in AC Evo if VR and online are playable in early access.. and continue to tinker with AC performance trying to chase down the occasional frame drop/freeze
So as a long time subscriber, GM. The most interesting thing for me - is when ACE finally beds itself down properly..... Is then finding out what you enjoy playing more over the next year (25/26) or two?... (Cos as a declared AC Fanboy yourself - it will be very interesting to see ; )
I will probably be tempted to buy Evo so I can do my own compares with AC1. I have been using AC1 from the very beginning, so many years I have lost count. I have plenty other sims, but apart from occasionally using AMS2 and Raceroom (for the better AI racing) and BeamNG for its uniqueness, I hardly use them. AC1 with CM, CSP and Pure and other mods is so fulfilling in many ways, not just driving, that it will always be my number 1. I hope I have to eat my words but I can't see it happening. Excellent video by the way. What is going on, on the screen, while you are rambling on, 😀rather proves the point!
AC is really damn nice and i played for 10 years but it really is start to showing its age. No matter the mods it wont fix the horrendous AI and lack of real weather. There is also a lot with saftey cars and multiclass racing that could be better. EVO will hopefully set a fantastic baseline that will make AC almost obsolete.
@TheCameltotem Stop chatting shit. It has real-time weather you clown & custom AI. The mod scene alone has kept it miles ahead of most recent driving sims. So stop with your lies because you don't like it anymore 🙄
@TheCameltotem Rain isn't anything close! 🙄 Why, do you play 4k beyond with 144/250 FPS? You're talking as if rain particals tell you if a driving game is good or better than another 🤣 Do you even understand customising & how much customising can be done right now with AC. You're talking as if EVO is some kind of miles apart from what exists now. Evo is the future but that doesn't mean it's better. It's not even out yet. Modders right now can pull off the lighting EVO has. I'll say it again. Do you play AC at 4k beyond on max CSP settings. Loads of lighting mods, with max refresh rate 120 being standard I'll guess you don't. So all you have are online videos showing high res clips The Modders made AC what it is. EVO is just trying to keep up. It's glaringly obvious by how it looks. Using MFAA instead of TAA Why are so many people easily ready to claim (this game looks miles better) when the average gamer can't even fully max out the current AC. Or bother to inject different AA's to make it look sharper EVO will have a lot of catching up to do with it's own game they left for modders to keep relevant..
@@MrAden1307 lol never seen so hurt. I have lots of mods and like I said AC is great but you cant mod the fundementals of physics, ffb, racing rules(saftey cars etc) real rain physics etc. Sure AC evo has a lot to catch up on but if the base just feels so much better than people will play that and modders will flock to it. EVO is going to be the king going forward.
Evo has a lot to live up too, but time for the real question. What track are you racing in the second filler footage?! that looks nutty having to avoid luggage carts lol
Honestly, if someone came in and did a mod for the AI in AC it would be huge. I love RSS and VRC cars, but you have to compromise how you drive to not blow away the AI. Like pretty much any setup adjustments on the car make you way too fast, they do jenky stuff in mixed racing where they can't decide if the hypercar should pass the GT3, etc. Right now LMU is my go to. I personally love rF2/LMU physics and FFB. For me personally it replicates real driving the most accurately (I know you disagree). People talk about the 'drifty' rF2 physics. My take on that is that's how it feels when you roll on the tire sidewalls, you feel the car twist and shift to the side and someone inexperienced would actually think you're starting to slide the car when you're actually just rolling on the tire sidewall and feeling/seeing the car shift side to side. It's one of those things that exaggerating in a sim makes sense to how it feels in real life. Anyway, all of that said, the physics in AC are a close second, it's just not quite there. You can tell RSS is working around the limitations by giving the brake pressure the ability to go to 115%. If you don't use 115% you can drive the GT3 cars with ABS totally off and never lock the brakes. Another good example is that in rF2 I can turn off all visuals for pedals and know exactly when I'm using too much brakes because the FFB and bass shaker feedback is so good. In AC I feel like I need a brake pedal meter on the screen so I know how much brakes I'm using. One thing though, the replays in AC using a mix of RSS and VRC cars for multi class racing.... it's the only replays I actually watch. I've literally saved and rewatched full races because it sounds so close to real life, and it's also easy to 'walk around' the track and just sit in one spot like you're watching the race.
You can tell how much to brake in AC from wheel forces if you are actually driving at the limit. RF2 just has exaggerated suspension load tug which people mistake as detailed braking feel.
@GamerMuscleVideos it's definitely not strong enough in a lot of cars. Some cars you get it, but the exaggerated effect is what you need in sim racing. Even with the pedal gauge on the screen knowing how much I'm braking I still can't feel it a lot of the time. This is coming from using exclusively AC for like the past year and just now going back to LMU and rF2 the past few weeks.
Props to the Italian approved pronunciation of 'EVO' (as if someone told you 5 times in a row how to say it) Maybe time to get into Espresso as well? Espresso is basically Cappuccino 1
Personally, I'm going to be sticking with AC1. It's the gift that keeps on giving. Vanilla AC was pretty decent but what's been done with it is frankly insane.
The best part about this is there's no downside, if ACE fails to deliver (physics or anything else) we still have the OG AC that will be constantly improved. I mean just look at some of the latest mods from VRC, best cars in sim racing
If I was a massive AC fanboy then I would obviously buy this. As I have more AC content than I can care to use I don't see me rushing out to buy. Did the Italian chap not say they wanted the mods licenced, so hows that going to work?
Looking at the AC Evo its just like modded AC1 but in a new game engine from kunos, its a new play ground/sandbox for modders Marco also wants to give modders a new powerful sdk and the pipeline to support the modders, So cars and maps might not take too long to be ported to AC Evo But, Graphics wise, It might take 3-4 years to have a decent graphics mod (mods like photorealism cyberpunk kill my pc type of graphics) to be made, car parts is also planned to be in AC Evo and needs to be learned, and with this "car parts" feature lets just say that if a Mazda RX7 already exist thats the base model and no one can make it anymore but you can make the parts for it, therefore if you make a whole car the parts should be removable, (already did this on some of my mods where car change parts when you change skins) that's why im a bit curious about the "licensing" stuff Taking the "licensing" stuff will be a hassle because most of the modders are hobbyist, but i guess they want to do it so that it will be "legal" and make the mods more decent and presentable in exchange of compensation or getting paid for the mod or even (a miracle) get a job in that company you're partnered with Edit: I guess if the car companies and aftermarket companies will be a headache Kunos will just say: "that mod is illegal you cant play it on Kunos Official Servers, but hey you can play it on your own server" *wink wink*
If Kunos makes is EZ to port mods into ACE then will be not much battle, people will still play AC cause of performance and etc but i think having customization will bring a lot of "drift" modders into the new game since thats a thing AC1 lacks, tho we just unlocked PBR stuff for AC1 so, there is no way AC gets outdated graphically at this point
The problem is if someone want to do make a free, good quality car mod, who's checking if it breaks copyrights? I think free mods are gonna be harder to release in ACE... Also is it only gonna be Payware mods only in the ingame marketplace? I dont know if they understand that modding dont working that way. Most of todays free mods in AC is not even licensed. How is that gonna work in game? Are they gonna have to pay the automakers? In my opinion mods should be free, if it is payware, then Its a third party paid Add-on like they do in FS20/24. But you can add mods outside the game and play with them in that sim too, becuse thats how generally modding works.
Exactly a person doing a free mod for fun probbaly dosn't care about doing lagit sound or lagit mesh or whatever they will just want to do what they can do / physics files or whatever and then want to slap it in the game , maybe they do a good job maybe not but it can add up to lots of mods and some good free mods that are super fun and still way better to drive than most cars in most video games. if everything has to be lagit ( which is not a bad thing) it means you basically only have more "serouse" mod teams that allso probably want to be paid for it or need money for them to then pay for everything to be lagit themselfs , so you then end up killing off the momentum that comes from no rules modding that you find in AC1 , which is why I think AC1 could end up being around for much longer and even compete with ACE.
hey Mr Muscle what was that last track you was racing around in ? nice content btw, AC is going to be hard to beat but eventually AC Evo inevitably will win in the end even if its 5 years after release
If ACE can compete with iRacing for quality of matchmaking and server performance then it could be a huge market disrupter. Otherwise it will only disrupt AC1 players
@ i’m pretty sure they do want to considering I racing has the most reliable and best matchmaking for competitive racing and the server quality is incredible. I’ve never raced on AC1 because to do it properly requires third party software.
@@murfenator82 I can see them and high quality modders doing well out of ACE , they represent a specific part of modding but not necessarily the majority of modding From a customers perspective these types of mods are basically DLC or like for example pay ware planes for msfs. However a large part of modding for any game is not professional mod groups selling paid mods but the random people doing totally crazy not at all legal random content lol.
AC already fails to work properly for me as downloaded directly from Steam. I dont play it often enough to justify Content Manager and SoL. I dont want to have to chase down all the updates and whatnot to make it work properly. Ive gone through the setup 2 or 3 times over the years and each time Ive noticed the amount of mods has decreased. I dont think AC will disappear but I wont be going back and couldnt be more excited for Evo and the plans they have for it.
If Evo only allows track and car mods, like rFactor, then AC is gonna stay alive for a good while. AC has tons of script mods, weather, working infotainment, cameras, HUD, gamepad fx, and the list goes on. If AC Evo doesn't allow for this type of mods, AC is going to stay alive even if the playerbase is smaller.
good question i think to ask is (looks at wheel in the video), Does AC-E have native Moza wheel base and wheel support? ie.. no wonky setups or work arounds?
@@GamerMuscleVideos Awesome! I'm loving my moza wheel, but i think since they are (sort of) new to the playing field, most of the curent title missed them, like Forza Motorsport/Horizon 5. EA picked them up pretty quick though, so F1 and Rally are good. Same with ACC. and more affordable imho. Thanks much!
I'm with you, but it's really hard to understand what AC Evo will be about modding, at the moment in the statements they talk about objectives-goals, but nothing concrete, the idea is the one you describe in the video, but it's not so simple to understand how they will realize it and if they succeed actually, anyway l still think it's an interesting idea if they manage to make it to reality, maybe it will mean that there could be many fewer mods but of higher quality. I would put it this way, if there will be a way to port the AC1 mods, then AC EVO will be the true successor of AC1 and will move a lot of people from AC1 to AC EVO, otherwise they will be two games that will live in parallel. Anyway AC1 is a giant, actually it's a real wild playground, it lives and will always live, whether it is a niche or thousands of people, it will not be abandoned for a long time, I'm sure of it! As I'm sure AC Evo will be played by a lot of people even without the incredible amount of mods present in AC.
I could see them introducing a mod format, turning the talent in the PC Sim world loose, and turn it into a win-win situation. The most successful or popular mods could be offered after console release as DLC. Mo money for everybody😂
hopefully ac evo make modders create good road cars. If there's one thing that's lacking in ac is really good & accurate road cars. To this day there is no good (if any) zonda mod
Have to wait and see , the depth might get in the way of things or maybe make it so that players don't care about mods as much or maybe they do even more ! hard to predict untill the game comes out and we see what the tools are and what the actual game is.
as someone who likes free unlicensed mods in their truest form. and likes street racing, touge, jdm etc (in sim racing) i am definitely going to be sticking with assetto corsa 1 for a long time. it doesnt look like ac2 will be adequately replacing this anytime soon with its insistence on approving and moderating all mods. making them licensed, even if that means charging money for them. or just outright banning/ not accepting them on their store. nope. not for me. i will undoubtedly eventually end up buying ac2, but there are some aspects of ac1 i dont think it will ever replace. at least, not until we get a content manager 2 for ac2 that allows unlicenced mods etc. but i dont see that happening. at least not any time soon anyway. it may not even be possible with a modern games copy protection etc.
If Rain is integrate along a file repository with direct download from Content Manager. AC will be alive for many more years. But CM UI needs to be redesigned to handle all the variations. Right now CM is still stuck with a server list where everybody still use AAAA 1111 etc to top the server list. Sort by Server Name was AC original way to sort the mess, modding made it worse. CM offers a lot of ways to filter servers but you probably need 3-6 years before you understand how it works. It boggles the mind how bad UI is. It's like a car with the ignition key in the trunk. With all the variation AC has to offer we need to filter servers by TAB's. Traffic - Drift - Race - Free Rooming - Track day - Rally - Dedicated ( Discord Club ) Quick Race ( Discord Open ) etc. It should be EASY to find YOUR type of racing. For me as a casual driver, I'm SICK of Nurburgring and the default cars. GT3 or F3 on SPA or MX5 on Laguna Seca. + a million NO HESI servers. I KNOW there are many out there who just want to jump in, without having to sign up to a Discord groupe to race next wednesday, on a different track and car than the one you came to race. Some servers use mandatory apps, like radar and race flags. CM can make it universal. I respect content creators but hate the growing list of Patron subscriptions that expires when I'm dead. I'd much rather pay a monthly subscription fee thru Content Manager that enables YOU to create a server everybody can join without a single mod installed beforehand and be ready in 5min. No more doggy ad virus Sites. It would bring LIFE and updates to long forgotten tracks and cars. Find a way to reward content creators thru CM not outside of it, it just creates separation. Overtake should really think long and hard how they can cooperate with Ilja because AC EVO might just turn into a Patreon cluster F... ( Full Metal Jacket ) Good for Me - Good for You. Do it.
I litrally went through special needs education as a child , the fact that I can even write and talk in a semi coherent way is a miracle and the idea that people think I'm going to pronounce things in other languages correctly is shall we say ... overly optimistic.
@GamerMuscleVideos didn't know that mate, congrats on all you've achieved 👏 it's still English tho 😁 i could be wrong but im assuming EVO is an abbreviation of Evolution, just found it unusual how you pronounce it 😉
@GamerMuscleVideos pronunciation aside, do you think Evo is going to have the longevity of a sim like iRacing? I had a break from racing, was well involved with the LFM league on ACC, but since I've come back I've found ACC not as populated. Assuming that's due to the impending release of evo?
Marco said that he want the modders to work with official manufacturers with licenses . RSS and VRC wont be able too afford licenses ? So will kunos slit their own throats ?
AC Evo will "eventually" only allow "approved" modders and their "approved" content. It doesn't seem like you'll be able to open a car file and change the suspension type or tires, etc... Original AC is a totally open type of modding. I don't think AC Evo will ever have open modding and easy file access. So the mod scene and users of AC will be largely unaffected. Instead of opening a file and changing the engine hp curve, in Evo, you'll probably have to grind credits and buy an engine upgrade like FM or GT7. AC will be eternal because of the open file modding.
I think you might be missing the master gameplan. For example, do you think Valve are worth so much because they release loads of content themselves or skim off the top of other peoples hard work and in return they provide the audience numbers and the distribution? I'm hoping that actually they provide an official outlet for modders to legitimately release content that is OEM friendly and better balanced and of better quality. WE all win, they get ongoing passive income, modders maximise their content reach, the player base gets loads of content. So no I don't think it will be a battle because both can exist but Evo has the potential to bring a lot more polished experience. I can't be f**ked to dick around with content manager to work out why update X on mod Y has created error Z.....try using CM in VR for example.
@@Space-O-2001 of course all companies want to own a store / walled garden , I think for sure kunos can do it. However this will make AC even more of a wild west for crazy shit which I turn makes AC1 even more appealing as it's own thing lol.
@@GamerMuscleVideos Yeah in that sense I hope AC continues to thrive but as I become an older fart, time is my most precious commodity and the days of tinkering for tinkering sake has lost its appeal lol
Most of humans are simple creatures. We like what we know is good. It's safe. We don't like new and unknown. I think alot of people will be hesitant to move away from ac. I think it's the same with iracing. No matter how perfect of a sim comes out, you've played the same sim for 10 years, there's no way you are changing. Sure you might give it a try, but iracing or ac will always be your comfortable "main sim"
How VR works is critical for me. AC VR is ok but it’s after the fact and it shows, even with Sol and Shaders and other mods. ACC is graphically beautiful but still a bit fuzzy in the mid-distance. AMS2 has outstanding and seamless VR support but below critical mass in the multiplayer population so it tends to be wasted. It’s also frustrating to join a race meeting and get stuck before the race because the host server has left or fallen asleep. If AC Evo gives us a decent multiplayer experience and a strong VR environment out of the box without modding and fixing, it will already be unique. I won’t even start with iRacing, which is graphically dated to begin with, out of date on track detail and has that awful subscription model - just a non-starter for me personally
They’re being quite coy on the mod-ability of ACE… they say it will support mods… but reading between the lines I think that the red tape will be so onerous that it’s not going to happen on the scale we see now… but I guess we’ll see…!
If i could use an analogy; I think AC1 will be like early youtube before copyright ai where anything goes. ACE will be like modern YT where some things sneak through but most is caught by ai detection
I don't think ACE will have anywhere near the modability of AC. It will be locked down to reserve the IP rights of the manufacturers that they have signed deals with.
I think its too soon to say that - I think ACE will have way larger player base than RF2 and already has incomparable momentum compared to RF2 - we also don't know if there will be modding restrictions neccercerily.
I think you’re wrong with EVO modding not being more popular than AC1. As someone who tries to make mods I think kunos promises of a new ksEditor is very promising. AC1 mods will continue but EVO has promised to be a more powerful mod engine and AC1 modding (for most modders) is FAR from perfect. I might be naive but I think it will be easy to improve on AC1s mod ability.
I think in the long run it will be more popular and ACE will be more popular and make more money , but I think it will have to compete with the insane wild west of AC1 and as i say it will be interesting to see if AC1 modders see ACE as a challenge.
@ I really wonder how track rights will work. If it is a public track or different countries can have different laws on copyright on tracks and how do modders prove they have right to the track?
Just for having fun, AC is great. For competitive racing, AC is pure shit and even if some good communities tried it and made decent working leagues, it’s lacking too much. So everybody has its preferences, but for people who want competitive racing ( which are a lot) will stay on platforms like Iracing, ACC or maybe ACE if it has good content in the end for competition.
In comparison to MFS games, there's a 10 year development gap between Kunos in-house game engines. I highly doubt it's even possible to port mods in a "easy way" with such scenario. Nevertheless, I think that the modding community always was and always will be the way it is in AC1. I'm all for supporting scratch-made content, making it licensed, making it profitable for creators. If they create a market where you can release and easily promote original content, making it harder to pirate, it would bring all the big groups into the new game. However, I hope that it will not affect the more shady scene. For some people seems like a pill that's hard to swallow, but I think that even Kunos themselves realize this. If they would completely disallow 3rd party mods made by whatever means, with converted content or not, ACE will never be as big as AC1. It's literally impossible. If they will let it be on its own, just the way it is now, I think that with some years we might be in a similar spot that we see AC1 currently, hopefully even a better one.
Yah there was maybe 7+year dev gap with msfs , but the developers allowed old physics engine to be used at same time as new one. They are two different contexts and examples and games so hard to compare directly. But it's hard to find other examples.
@@GamerMuscleVideos Yeah, that's fair I suppose. Though, being around the highly competitive field in AC, I actually hope they remade plenty of things. There's a lot of little loopholes in physics that allowed some ridiculous broken setups. I kinda wish we could get a clean slate with the new model so these things won't happen again, at least not in the same way. It's a huge developmental gap for sure, plus we will wait some time until some info about mod support will appear. Then again, most people who would try to port the old mods probably wouldn't care in the slightest lmao. I think the biggest advantage will be the modern shader pipeline so the cars will look acceptable with little effort. Either way, really looking forward to this!
...strangely what you're saying make sense 🤣... but you forgot to mention the AI and the single player part... I stil have high hopes, for EVO in this segments.. I mean it can't be wose than AC, every new mod is getting worse with the AI!😮💨
i can confirm. I use AC1 with a f1 real cockpit (2009 car) at home and i also drive a F3 car (i sold it) and i'm planning to buy a GP2 series 2005-2008
Yep AC drives way better than iracing and also has all the tracks + you can easily adjust content to match your real world car better. Every real world driver I know that's a legit fast real world driver ie they can hustle a car that has down force they all like AC1 due to how you can move the cars around at the limit.
AC and the mods are too big to just go away ACE will be great for the future 1-3 years but I guarantee I will still be frequently racing in AC1 Feel like this whole conversation ACE vs AC mods is just overblown. We still will have AC1 its not being taken down. Like Kireth has made like 4 videos you have made 2 concerning mods just chill 😊
What I hope for from ACE is native hotlapping leaderboard so you don't feel completely alone and driving for zero purpose or reason (I dont like online multiplayer racing), and I hope the mods have a central ecosystem native in ACE rather than it all being poorly glued together by something like Content Manager. The AC mod system felt so flakey and fragile, one mod wouldn't work without some other mod which needed to be a specific version locked behind some guys Patreon, but then that needed some other mod which was only available on some dodgy website... that all needs to stop imo.
So the EVO game is a wait and see for me, right now, not that impressed with it. And what will initial cost be on STEAM!!!!!! I am sorry but I have no plans on getting AC EVO when it come out, especially when it only has around 5 international only tracks to race on - and they are tracks I already have in my other games. Free Roam tracks may be nice, but I buy racing games to race, not to Sight See. Right now there is too much hype on this new game which I really could care less. Next will EVO put restrictions on modders in what they can create in the new racing game? AC 1 has had no restrictions on track/vehicle content and will stay with that game until I see the direction the EVO game is going to target - what Audience of racers. Will AC EVO have option for Formation laps or Rolling Starts like in ACC or RFactor 2? If not, that is a turn off for me if they only have standing starts like in AC 1. I do racing series that do rolling starts such as Indycar in AC 1.
I'm certainly going to wait a bit in AC1 to see if AC Evo will deliver. Without Stefano and Aris plus Marco's bad early start, I am really skeptical of AC Evo. I think they will be pushing this game more to compete with Forza/GT styles of games than with an ultra realistic physics current AC1+CSP genre. Kunos was sold back in 2016 to the Corpos and since then, not even 100% passion motivated Aris stayed. Anyway, as Marco mentioned, they won't support modding in the short term, so there is nothing really to see here. AC1 will remain king for the time being. There is no fight whatsoever beyong this clickbait video. If Evo is open to modding as AC1 is, there is no reason why anyone will stay behind and "fight". That's pure intrigue...
well if kunos didnt make any money from the evo they probably will shut the central server down BUT if kunos ever see this comment i have a solution... RELEASE A NEW DLC FOR THE AC 1 so that modders can have a new propper official physics im ok if its expensive i want offroad and rally
Online touge, racing (gtx, formula), no hesi, rally, rallycross, weekend tracking (nordchlife, etc). If these I would delete assetto corsa and every other racing games.
fair enough , I know what you mean to be honest AI is rubish in everything and sadly so is online ranked racing for most part which then leaves you with leagues lol
@@GamerMuscleVideos Just as desktop pc's were rendered completely obsolete by phones, tablets and SoC, petrol and diesel engine cars were obsoleted by EV technology, the "paperless office" rendered physical paper totally obsolete and wireless connection meant you won't find a wired internet connection anywhere. Because everything experts predict always comes 100% to fruition and technological advancement is never over exaggerated to artificially inflate market values so that men in pinstripe suits with greasy comb back hair can make obscene amounts of money for shuffling digits around on computer screens on wall street and in the city of London. :)
AC is basically Counterstrike.
Thats why I got Ac & ACC + DLCs twice, plus bought both a third time to introduce a friend further into sim.
non-vr is basically rubbing sticks together.
That only runs Vertigo. Inferno. Dust II
Don't say that, they will add loot boxes.
It’s also world of Warcraft
Nostalgia for AC will be omnipresent as soon as ACE releases
Beam can now say "look, we have our repository that we take responsibility for, whatever's outside of that isn't officially supported and we're not liable for"
Idk how eager car companies will be to give out their licenses, but i think some of them have got it through their heads that getting your car into a game is massive advertisement.
I have a metric ton of extra tracks, but the kunos cars are my go to also. Virginia international in a Porsche gt3 is pretty much all I need.
Mods NEED to be a supported feature.
GM: "Ehvvouuu"
Well, I guess this one of those cases where "half-way-there" is good enough. 😜
Agree 100%
I agree ! - especially that now people just make unreal games instead of modding like they used to I'm not sure if I said it in the video I might have cut it out lol I wanted to keep the video focused on AC but there is intresting aspects to how modding has changed over the years
i wonder when we are just going to call it ACE.
I agree I'm the same 🤣 👍.
Yup. I want to race, not administer mods and fixes
It's about time you got back to work.
@@MrAden1307 CSP rain isnt anything close to Iracing rain or whatever. Also custom AI lmao. AC is great but AC Evo is the next step.
@TheCameltotem Rain isn't anything close! 🙄 Why, do you play 4k beyond with 144/250 FPS? You're talking as if rain particals tell you if a driving game is good or better than another 🤣
Do you even understand customising & how much customising can be done right now with AC. You're talking as if EVO is some kind of miles apart from what exists now. Evo is the future but that doesn't mean it's better. It's not even out yet. Modders right now can pull off the lighting EVO has. I'll say it again. Do you play AC at 4k beyond on max CSP settings. Loads of lighting mods, with max refresh rate 120 being standard
I'll guess you don't. So all you have are online videos showing high res clips
The Modders made AC what it is. EVO is just trying to keep up. It's glaringly obvious by how it looks. Using MFAA instead of TAA
Why are so many people easily ready to claim (this game looks miles better) when the average gamer can't even fully max out the current AC. Or bother to inject different AA's to make it look sharper
EVO will have a lot of catching up to do with it's own game they left for modders to keep relevant..
I want to know that too :). Also the jets in the air looks really nice.
If evo can have an easy way to install licensed "above board" mods and a 3rd party way to still install whatever you want I think thats best
Yah if everything is seemless and less effort then i think it will win out overall , but Im sure AC1 will be the wild west even more due to that lol.
Props to the Italian approved pronunciation of 'EVO' (as if someone told you 5 times in a row how to say it)
Maybe time to get into Espresso as well? Espresso is basically Cappuccino 1
I also gave him shit about it on stream because he was still butchering it after that interview. Well done James. Next on the list is Pagani Huayra
Personally, I'm going to be sticking with AC1. It's the gift that keeps on giving. Vanilla AC was pretty decent but what's been done with it is frankly insane.
I hope that with ac evo they could just do mods in steam workshop it would make it more simple and more consolidated
ACE will never be like AC. Uncontrolled mods makes AC king imo.
PASTA FIGHT ! - I'm excited to see what happens with this - would love to see a 90s style demo scene geek off !
Waiting for Future Crew to start releasing AC mods.
I think everyone will buy ACE regardless , just interesting to see how the modding will pan out.
Mate is handling better than iRacing?
Looking at the AC Evo its just like modded AC1 but in a new game engine from kunos, its a new play ground/sandbox for modders Marco also wants to give modders a new powerful sdk and the pipeline to support the modders, So cars and maps might not take too long to be ported to AC Evo
But, Graphics wise, It might take 3-4 years to have a decent graphics mod (mods like photorealism cyberpunk kill my pc type of graphics) to be made, car parts is also planned to be in AC Evo and needs to be learned, and with this "car parts" feature lets just say that if a Mazda RX7 already exist thats the base model and no one can make it anymore but you can make the parts for it, therefore if you make a whole car the parts should be removable, (already did this on some of my mods where car change parts when you change skins) that's why im a bit curious about the "licensing" stuff
Taking the "licensing" stuff will be a hassle because most of the modders are hobbyist, but i guess they want to do it so that it will be "legal" and make the mods more decent and presentable in exchange of compensation or getting paid for the mod or even (a miracle) get a job in that company you're partnered with
Edit: I guess if the car companies and aftermarket companies will be a headache Kunos will just say: "that mod is illegal you cant play it on Kunos Official Servers, but hey you can play it on your own server" *wink wink*
Pretty amped for the release. Finally a fleshed out AC with some development.
Things like touge Union will keep people in the original ac for a long time
The problem is if someone want to do make a free, good quality car mod, who's checking if it breaks copyrights?
I think free mods are gonna be harder to release in ACE...
Also is it only gonna be Payware mods only in the ingame marketplace?
I dont know if they understand that modding dont working that way.
Most of todays free mods in AC is not even licensed. How is that gonna work in game? Are they gonna have to pay the automakers?
In my opinion mods should be free, if it is payware, then Its a third party paid Add-on like they do in FS20/24.
But you can add mods outside the game and play with them in that sim too, becuse thats how generally modding works.
Exactly a person doing a free mod for fun probbaly dosn't care about doing lagit sound or lagit mesh or whatever they will just want to do what they can do / physics files or whatever and then want to slap it in the game , maybe they do a good job maybe not but it can add up to lots of mods and some good free mods that are super fun and still way better to drive than most cars in most video games.
if everything has to be lagit ( which is not a bad thing) it means you basically only have more "serouse" mod teams that allso probably want to be paid for it or need money for them to then pay for everything to be lagit themselfs , so you then end up killing off the momentum that comes from no rules modding that you find in AC1 , which is why I think AC1 could end up being around for much longer and even compete with ACE.
mods you pay for is just DLC, or as Paradox Interactive calls them, Content Creator Packs
hey Mr Muscle what was that last track you was racing around in ?
nice content btw, AC is going to be hard to beat but eventually AC Evo inevitably will win in the end even if its 5 years after release

@@GamerMuscleVideos thanks 👍
If ACE can compete with iRacing for quality of matchmaking and server performance then it could be a huge market disrupter. Otherwise it will only disrupt AC1 players
i highly doubt that ace wants to compete with iracing. ace will be more of a casual driving experience. just like ac1.
@ i’m pretty sure they do want to considering I racing has the most reliable and best matchmaking for competitive racing and the server quality is incredible. I’ve never raced on AC1 because to do it properly requires third party software.
RSS and VRC and others already making cars that are better than many other top sim titles. In that sense they already have quite a headstart.
@@murfenator82 I can see them and high quality modders doing well out of ACE , they represent a specific part of modding but not necessarily the majority of modding
From a customers perspective these types of mods are basically DLC or like for example pay ware planes for msfs.
I wish Kunos would release modding tools for ACC as a last update for it.
Still waiting for the cup of tea mod once discussed on stream.
i like it the white porsche keeps going sideways every chance it gets
What is your setup?
good question i think to ask is (looks at wheel in the video), Does AC-E have native Moza wheel base and wheel support? ie.. no wonky setups or work arounds?
Yah already works on most wheels and they are working on good out the box settings 👍
AC1 is one SIM to rule them all. And we are all Gollum heads. Our precious!
youre all noobs if you dont use vr.
its called EHvo!
I could see them introducing a mod format, turning the talent in the PC Sim world loose, and turn it into a win-win situation. The most successful or popular mods could be offered after console release as DLC. Mo money for everybody😂
What do you think of ace's ffb ?
Seemed ok ish , but also seemed a bit overlly dampened and felt like there was some delay in the game.
hopefully ac evo make modders create good road cars. If there's one thing that's lacking in ac is really good & accurate road cars. To this day there is no good (if any) zonda mod
For me ac evo will take it either way given how much more depth it goes in other areas.
Have to wait and see , the depth might get in the way of things or maybe make it so that players don't care about mods as much or maybe they do even more ! hard to predict untill the game comes out and we see what the tools are and what the actual game is.
Yes but when is EVO released?
Jan 17th
as someone who likes free unlicensed mods in their truest form. and likes street racing, touge, jdm etc (in sim racing) i am definitely going to be sticking with assetto corsa 1 for a long time. it doesnt look like ac2 will be adequately replacing this anytime soon with its insistence on approving and moderating all mods. making them licensed, even if that means charging money for them. or just outright banning/ not accepting them on their store.
nope. not for me.
i will undoubtedly eventually end up buying ac2, but there are some aspects of ac1 i dont think it will ever replace. at least, not until we get a content manager 2 for ac2 that allows unlicenced mods etc. but i dont see that happening. at least not any time soon anyway. it may not even be possible with a modern games copy protection etc.
What is this airport mod? Looks fun

@@GamerMuscleVideos thanking you buddy 🥳
My opinion = objectively better.
EVOH beating AC1 is imho less likely to beamng implementing competitive racing via LFM. The latter one would surely be revolutionary for sim racing.
I think Evo will be at AC in popularity easily
Do it.
Why can't GM say Evo properly 😅
Wait until you hear him say Corsair. @@GamerMuscleVideos
Marco said that he want the modders to work with official manufacturers with licenses . RSS and VRC wont be able too afford licenses ? So will kunos slit their own throats ?
For some reason I've gone off cheese😂
Finger crossed for the T-Rex mod!🤞
AC Evo will "eventually" only allow "approved" modders and their "approved" content. It doesn't seem like you'll be able to open a car file and change the suspension type or tires, etc... Original AC is a totally open type of modding. I don't think AC Evo will ever have open modding and easy file access. So the mod scene and users of AC will be largely unaffected. Instead of opening a file and changing the engine hp curve, in Evo, you'll probably have to grind credits and buy an engine upgrade like FM or GT7. AC will be eternal because of the open file modding.
@@virtualawakening2299 I agree
What if Kunos did what Microsoft Flight Simulator (Asobo) did; hire the teams making mods in the previous version to make official content?
I thought they did?
They’re being quite coy on the mod-ability of ACE… they say it will support mods… but reading between the lines I think that the red tape will be so onerous that it’s not going to happen on the scale we see now… but I guess we’ll see…!
If i could use an analogy; I think AC1 will be like early youtube before copyright ai where anything goes. ACE will be like modern YT where some things sneak through but most is caught by ai detection
I don't think ACE will have anywhere near the modability of AC.
It will be locked down to reserve the IP rights of the manufacturers that they have signed deals with.
RF2 msitakes all over again. Modding restrictions and monetization? How about no.
@ AC1 mods will easily converted to EVO so I don’t think it will be any challenge or competition.
i could see the main difference being licensing red tape. we will likely not see unlicensed tracks or cars like in the past.
@ I really wonder how track rights will work. If it is a public track or different countries can have different laws on copyright on tracks and how do modders prove they have right to the track?
J.Weany is a menace
ACC>EVO>AC.....just got a feeling
so it's just interesting thoughts
Eevo or E-v0, wharever
Tracks is the main thing, i could not care less about some modded car.
im sticking with ac. not going to spend out on a new pc just to run ace.
Looks like ACE will run quite well to be honest , better than ACC from what I could gather
@GamerMuscleVideos will it run on a 3rd gen i7 with a 1080ti?
minimum recommended is Intel i7 8700k GTX 1070.
why don't we have many (any?) 1930's 30hp cars like from the mafia game
...strangely what you're saying make sense 🤣... but you forgot to mention the AI and the single player part... I stil have high hopes, for EVO in this segments.. I mean it can't be wose than AC, every new mod is getting worse with the AI!😮💨
u can have great AI on AC1 + CSP + NUZZI + tracks must have itself a good AI. If u download crap conversion the AI wil be Sh@@
5:49 is this true? Real world drivers and real world training centres are using AC1 as professional simulation tool.
I've seen Alonso and Gabriel Bortoleto using AC for practice . There are probably a lot more.
i can confirm.
8:00 what is this track? Looks great lol

This will be the greatest battle, Deus Vult!
No other game has aged as well as AC, it will be a surprise if AC Evo is better, lately game sequels tend to be worse than their predecessors.
AC and the mods are too big to just go away ACE will be great for the future 1-3 years but I guarantee I will still be frequently racing in AC1
Feel like this whole conversation ACE vs AC mods is just overblown. We still will have AC1 its not being taken down. Like Kireth has made like 4 videos you have made 2 concerning mods just chill 😊
CASIO watch lol !
beep booop beep beep fizzle
What I hope for from ACE is native hotlapping leaderboard so you don't feel completely alone and driving for zero purpose or reason (I dont like online multiplayer racing), and I hope the mods have a central ecosystem native in ACE rather than it all being poorly glued together by something like Content Manager. The AC mod system felt so flakey and fragile, one mod wouldn't work without some other mod which needed to be a specific version locked behind some guys Patreon, but then that needed some other mod which was only available on some dodgy website... that all needs to stop imo.

AC1 FOREVER (NO BATTLLE)
That's pure intrigue...
ive only played AC1 vanilla o_o
entirely new game with mods
well if kunos didnt make any money from the evo they probably will shut the central server down BUT if kunos ever see this comment i have a solution... RELEASE A NEW DLC FOR THE AC 1 so that modders can have a new propper official physics im ok if its expensive i want offroad and rally
ACE will sell really well I don't think kunos need to worry about that.
Online touge, racing (gtx, formula), no hesi, rally, rallycross, weekend tracking (nordchlife, etc). If these I would delete assetto corsa and every other racing games.
AC1 is dead for me because the AI is godawful and I'm only interested in single player sim racing. If only the modders could've fixed the AI.
fair enough , I know what you mean to be honest AI is rubish in everything and sadly so is online ranked racing for most part which then leaves you with leagues lol
*its
AI can convert the mods.
Not yet
@GamerMuscleVideos yet. Being the key word...lol
@@cdrseabee and it will be crap the first few gen's
