Thanks so much for all that you guys do! The timing for this could not be better! I'd be cool to get animation tutorials for how to animate like certain iconic animation like dragon ball z or SpongeBob in krita as well (on the short side of course)
smd lol this is why youtube sucks, saturated with garbage. who the FFuk uses a mouse to animate????
thx
you rock!
Hey terrific video, what can we do if the create video option is not shown in the options bar?
WAIT- YOU CAN ADD AUDIO?! I- I'VE NEEDED THAT FOR SO LONG AND IT'S BEEN RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME THE WHOLE TIME😭
Sometimes it doesn’t like MP3 files so I think WAV or something is better? I’d Google it to be sure though since it was a year ago I had that issue.
@@Frostfern94ye
Me too 😭😭
this is unrelated, but
nice pfp >;]
@@dreaminsepsis2542 ur so real for that
Just wanted to share a little tip regarding the audio part.
I don't know if it was just me, but krita sometimes doesn't take mp3 , so in that case you need to convert your audio file into a WAV file. That's gonna make it work for sure [=
for me the audio keeps changing where it lines up so ima try that
i use different software for the audio and editing
@@Ramen5000Manga just useful to have a reference while animating
Thanks man had no idea
@@Ramen5000Manga what software ? 😃
Tip: The HOLD FRAMES option in the right click menu allows you to choose how long to hold a frame/frames. Say you drew in 1s and want to switch to 2s, you select the frames you want to extend or space out, select the "insert multiple hold frames" option and type in number of frames to hold (in this case 2) then all the frames you selected with skip the number of frames specified :). Instead of spacing each frame individually you can do it in one go.
Them: You can animate in Krita.
Me: [spill drink from mouth] Pardon?!
YESSSSSSSSSSSS THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR
I AGREE!
Shad upp Ahhaa
Thanks, this was super helpful! I've always found animating on Krita really intimidating and difficult, but after watching this video and following along, it's starting to get easier!
B
Could you please update this? There have been several changes to how Krita handles the onion wrapper and the frames. That made it difficult to follow this exactly.
Thank you! Finally- I was so confused with the Krita Animation UI and process. It was like a culture shock as I used to animate with Photoshop. But I love Krita coz it's free. Cheers!
I've grabbed Krita a few times (and again, recently) for the purpose of animating, since I'd heard from others that it was one of the best options art software had to offer; I never could figure out how to get it to work though, so this video is a massive help! Thank you for sharing, Winged Canvas!-
We're so happy you found this video useful! We have more Krita videos on our channel in case anyone is looking for more tips and shortcuts :)
I love using Krita, it truly is an amazing free program
Love this. Tried animation paper first, and it was really simple and straight forward but I missed having the tools and controls that I had in Krita for creating still images. So happy to see that it works so well for animation too
Thank you for this ! Right to the point! For my ADHD mind you have the best voice for teaching and comprehension as well as the proper pacing for me to grab onto what I am learning. Thank you for being a great teacher !!!
I'm in the process of migrating to Krita from Photoshop (for budget reasons), and this video was super helpful. Thanks for the concise and informative tutorial!
Oh my God thank you for covering animating in krita! Hopefully we can get a krita series!
I'm just new to digital art and animation and I found krita really interesting.
And I'm thankful that you explained the animation really well since I plan to practice basic animation in krita.
We love to hear that! Check out our channel where we have more Krita resources :)
This was incredibly helpful! I'm always having a hard time when it comes to learning about new programs and stuff and this video took a lot of my anxiety and made it feel way less overwhelming than I expected :D so thanks a lot!

this was so helpful i have always wanted to do animation on my laptop, i draw on krita but every animation tutorial was just complicated or apps with money. Thank you so much for this video!
thank you so much sir!
Some changes to our highschool Adobe subscription has been put in place and some apps require teacher permission/confirmation to be used so for a while I couldn't use Adobe animate anymore because I wasn't bothered to do that. This helps a lot with my animations. Thanks 👍
I'm using Krita for my drawing course, so this helped a lot
this is the best video i have found for animating on krita thank you!
I used to use Krita for animation, but I stopped at the end of 2020 because the audio tool they had for animating was glitchy. I now just use Photoshop to draw frames and import those frames into a video editor to put together.
yeahhhhh they still haven't fixed it
This is gorgeous, im taking a bit of inspiration from it(only the movements) Be Proud of this work
THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!!!! THATS RIGHT WHAT I NEEDED!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️

hey is there any way to make multiple blank frames at once? I'm adding sound to my animation and its quite long so I don't wanna click add blank frame over and over again
Thanks for the great explanation! P.S. I love your fireball character 🔥
thanks for teaching
Oh wow what the basics thankyou
thank you so much!
i want to give you a BIG thanks for this tutorial beacause i wanted to start animating so i downloaded krita but it looked compliceted for my tiny 11 year old brain so this tutorial was really helpful really thank you so much for this tut im definatly subscribing!
I was following another animation tutorial and had to open a couple Dockers, but the one I already had open (color wheel, brushes) kind of exploded all over my screen, and I cant seem to get them back into place, or into a layout where I can actually see my canvas. Is there a better way to move them back, cause I clicked and dragged a bit and it didn't really help, and I even closed the program and reopened it and the Dockers are still completely in the way. Any help is appreciated
наконец то нормальный ролик про анимацию в крите, урааа!! спасибо

Great stuff! you earned a subscriber more :)
Thx - nice tut!
Good job, thanks !
hi, how did you add the "create a new video" in your context menu
Hey terrific video, what can we do if the create video option shown at 12:18 is not shown in the options bar?
00:40 is the resolution not a function of the amount of pixels? What does it change if you have already set a pixel size for each axis?
Learning how to use krita with this video right now 💪💪
You are the GOAT.
Krita is a brilliant software. Like it a lot, very good UX.
