I wanted to sit down with my main watercolour palette and see how many different greens I can mix with the yellows and blues I have. I'll also swatch the gorgeous greens I already have in the palette too. This is by no means an extensive video - it's more of a relaxing experiment while I chat to you. At the beginning I'll also share some of the paintings I've been working on while I've been staying in Suffolk.
I honestly think mixing greens is one of the most relaxing things! I sometimes just do it for absolutely no reason except to see the beauty. And I end up with dozens of pages of swatches …probably not the best use of my etchr sketchbooks 🤣
As always, inspirational... but above all, just an absolute pleasure to watch and take in. Your ideas expand my palette and are so relaxing. Thank you Natasha.
I love moody greens! I have lived in Costa Rica for the last 15 years and have been spoiled forever by a lush and luxurious variety of greens!!! The freshness of green is not really appreciated enough in my opinion. Loved your company and this video and wish you a very happy anniversary!!! 💚🌲🌳🌴🌿☘🍀🍃
Moody greens Natasha. A really interesting exercise. I shall have a go with my blues and yellows and see which greens I can come up with. Thank you for the inspiration 🙏
moody greens are my favourite:D. I’ve been mixing Prussian blue and yellow ochre recently, they make a gorgeous range of moody greens. This was fun to watch!
So many 'moody greens',lovely to colour mix with you in real time, green is definitly your signature colour!. Hope you are recovered from the dentist now . I love the new bundle of feather painting, and look forward to seeing more of this series in the future, loved the new birds too (I think your birds are my favourite of your paintings) they have a magical quality to them. Hope Dominic loved his card when you created for him. I love your new abstract pieces too and look forward to seeing more of these too,so inspiring to see you trying something new but that still has the elements of your more usual style, but used in a totally new way. I like to take some time to just colour mix from my created palettes,it's a nice meditative thing to do and is another way to swatch as well. You must have a large range of greens now in all the diferent media you work with, maybe a video showasing all the greens you own in all the differnt media as well (hint hint!) I like the vivid almost malachite green of the portfolio folder too. I hope the new abstracts inspire you to use colours in a new way or use colours you don't use as much as others.,maybe a 'moody greens' abstract maybe...... (matt)
Ooh how exciting! I was very good and didn’t look at my moth card as requested, but I saw your other moth painting and I loved that one, so I can’t wait to see my one! I’m so looking forward to seeing you again when you come back from your Suffolk trip, it’s been way too long. Right, I’m going to continue watching the rest of your video while I finish my painting! it’s been lovely to see what you’ve been creating while you’re away, it’s been so strange not having my usual behind the scenes peeks at your artwork. See you soon! 😁💖😘 xxx
I'm glad that you didn't look! I love how I told you not to look and then proceeded to say what was on the card. 😂 I miss you and can't wait to see you too! 💖😘 xxx
These moody greens are really lovely, Natasha! Once again thank you for a wonderfully relaxing video. So great to hear you're feeling well after your tooth extraction.
Moody Greens. I hope you are healing well and being kind to yourself! Dental work is always so painful. Loved the video and plan on trying to see what greens I get mixing my colors as well.
Moody greens! 🤗 .... Who would had thought that you love greens so much. This is a total surprise for us! Yesssss, just teasing you a bit ... 😉 P.S. Those abstracts are gorgeous! 😍❤
"Moody Greens in the Comments" 😆 I love mixing the colors I have when I don't feel creative. I've been watching Oto Kano's color mixing/split palette videos and it is so interesting. I'd love to see what you come up with. Cheers!
I've never commented in TH-cam before but I really wanted to share how much I love your videos, from the lighting to the way you narrate and swatch art supplies, I genuinely enjoy them to the point I feel at peace. I'm so happy to see that you love greens, the colors you seem to like speak to me as well so that's a plus! Best of wishes,
Lovely Moody Greens, Natasha! 🤩 - I love mixing my own colours and find that the Cobalt Teal is quite a versatile mixing colour! Plus, it's a must-have for any water-related painting. And last but not least, congrats on your anniversary! 😍😘
What a coincidence Natasha! I'm messing around with a very green landscape gouache painting, during my lunchbreak at my day job :) It's quite a Springy-green sketchbook piece, but ooh those moody greens are creeping in where the shadows lie. I hope you're not in too much pain from your tooth and that you feel better soon. I did laugh at the anniversary card "Dominic has to look away, this moth painting is his anniversary card"... doops :D Thank you for another lovely video xx
That is a coincidence! It was obviously meant to be. :) My mouth is a little bit sore but it's healing. I'm trying to be as careful as I can. And I know - I didn't think that one through, did I?! (Dominic's card). xx
I really enjoyed this color mixing video . Thank you. Sorry to hear you had a rough week this past week. Hope you are well on the mend! I really enjoy moody greens as well!
Ooohh, moody greens!💕 I really like the greens you mixed with the Payne’s Grey blue/bluish. Just lovely. I look forward to seeing more moth paintings as well. Always such a relaxing and enjoyable time watching your videos. Thank you😘
Ooh Natasha I'm sorry to hear about your tooth extraction. I know that had to be extremely uncomfortable and I hope you'll be on the mend by the weekend at least. Thank you for this video on mixing greens. I'm diving head first into botanical painting and this video came in the knick of time. Moody greens ❤
It has been pretty uncomfortable, but I'm trying to do all of the things I should be doing for it to heal quickly (fingers crossed!). Good luck with the botanical painting!
Moody Greens! Green is one of my least favorite colours (even though I love nature and I am a plant mama) but all your videos make me appreciate this colour more and more and thanks to you I discovered there are certain greens that I absolutely adore and work well with my colour schemes (especially Vivianite (RS), Davy's Grey (H) and my all time favorite Shadow Green (PASS)). Thank you so much for this!
It's so funny, because it used to be one of my least favourite colours to work with too, and now its one of my favourites to the point of obsession! 😂 The three greens you adore are some of my absolute favourites too. :)
Oh Natasha, you are such an enabler! I usually mix my own greens but I love the convenience greens. I feel a spendy visit to my local art supplies shop in Belfast 🤣😂😆
Ha ha, sorry Lorraine! I think it's nice to have some convenience greens that you really love in your palette. But it's fun to mix and make your own too - I love the experimental aspect of it!
Moody Greens! Aww green is my favourite colour and it was great to see you mix some gorgeous shades. Lovely to see all the work you have been doing lately together, such a beautiful inspiring collection xx
Thanks Jeanine! It was nice to share it with everyone. :) RE: green - I think it's the variety of different greens that excites me so much. Dominic told me that apparently the human eye can see more shades of green than any other colour! xx
Moody Greens! :D I love most greens now too, and I own sooo many convenience greens haha. Color mixing is such a fun and relaxing exercise too, and it is very enlightening!
Funny I saw just the top of the post and saw the greens and knew right away it was your post natasha lol so funny how with little contact that I knew that, I have a big undertaking today , I may have to do it tommorrow lol
I love “moody greens!” Thank you for sharing your mixed greens, a lovely salad of colors. I enjoy playing with my colors, mixing them and trying not to make mud, there are beautiful brown colors from mixing. It’s raining 🌧and raining 🌧and raining 🌧 on my mountain top 🌊 < I hope it stops soon or I’ll be looking for Noah and the ark! ☔️🙆♀️ I have the windows and front door open and it smells so good and fresh! Have a safe trip home, love Fran
I think you have the cleanest watercolour palette in the whole world.😍 Mine is so messy compared to yours and I do try to be careful I really do!😆 Moody greens!x
Thanks Lynn! Any advice? I'm only eating soft foods, trying to eat on the other side, doing gentle salt water rinses 2-3 times a day. Let's hope it heals soon!
@@tlembro Thankfully I didn't have stitches but it was quite a difficult extraction. Several days on and it seems to be healing well! I've been so careful with it. :)
moody greens . It was interesting seeing how the paper gave a different effect. I like the smooth hot press papers- even for the granulating colours as they appear more subtle. Love that sodalite gen mix. So looking forward to more of your water colour vids.
Moody greens💚 I realized I have also grown to love all shades of this colour in the past few years, when I was younger I would never never reach for it, it’s interesting how much tastes can change and colour cravings can become obsessions, in a good way. I adore the raindrop painting, I think it would look lovely as a pattern on cards and notebooks
I totally agree with you there! I used to shy away from using green and now I can't get enough of it! I think that I really need to do something with the raindrops painting - it's the type of design that could be used for several things.
Random swatches are more like what I have time for and so I can understand. Beautiful artwork that you shared thank you. I love using paynes blue grey and using for mixes too. Hope your extraction heals well. Moody greens.
Moody greens! I was just thinking, I wish Daniel Smith or another one of your favorite paint creators would partner with you to create a Natasha Newton palette. I’d buy it in a heartbeat because I always enjoy your color choices!
Thanks Natasha for another great video, currently all my paint materials are packed away as we're moving soon, your videos are keeping me going as I really miss my painting, I'm also off work ill so this has help cheers me up. Love a moody green!
