You have this "big sister" vibe to me & I love it, your videos are awesome &you have won over a new subscriber! :) I've been really nervous lately about going to college and wanting to stay healthy& this was by far the best video I've seen!
"The freshman 15 is an expression commonly used in the United States that refers to an amount (somewhat arbitrarily set at 15 pounds) of weight often gained during a student's first year at college. The purported causes of this weight gain are increased alcohol intake and the consumption of fat and carbohydrate-rich cafeteria-style food and fast food in university dormitories." By Wilipedia
I'm gonna start working out over the summer, so that i'll be used to it by the time I move into college. I love my body, i dont want an extra 15 pounds. at all lol.
I avoided the Freshman 15 by walking just about everywhere on campus and by hitting up the rec center multiple times a week. Also watch what you eat in the dining halls.
I lost literally 20 lbs in my first year of college after a bit of binge-ing by always visiting the grocery stores on campus or off and picking up healthy foods for breakfast/lunch rather than hitting up the dining hall. Then I would eat only half of my dinner and never getting the dessert at the dining hall (omg...so tempting I know). I also carried my water bottle almost everywhere. I peed like a horse and always went in and out of class lol but it really helped keep me full.
I gained 15 pounds in 3 months at the beginning of Uni... I had pasta twice a day with tons and tons of cheese. as soon as I was sick of pasta and started to eat healthier food I lost them again :)
Here's a tip to anyone that wants to listen, I like to go to class in the earliest time possible because if I don't wake up early, I'm not as motivated so I will more then likely slack off. And ha, I'm eating a bowl of M&M's and drinking orange soda as I watch this. Lol.
Just saying but, the only reason I got here, cus I was wondering what freshmen fifteen was. Now that I know, I don't really care about gaining fifteen pounds. And just saying but, why would one be at the library at one am?

i gained the freshman 15...... and my school literally banned mini fridges. -sigh- guess they were too cheap for the electric bill.
I think restricting alcohol is also a way to avoid the freshman 15!
what if you have a meal plan? i mean, youre paying for food you could be wasting..
that's right nothing happened to me anyway and i'm the worst at taking care of myself
I always find that people either gain a lot or loose a lot of weight.
It's actually a myth and we really did extensive research on this topic as well as surveying people on our campus.
You should just avoid the dorm cafeteria. As faculty, I get free passes. I finally stopped using them...
Did you say uno bars? I wanna check out the bar you actually like eating.
kinda other way around in my case, 'cause i almost lost 7pounds when i was freshmen. 😞😞😞
I've done the freshman 15 research as well. I did my research paper for college on that and darlene nguyen is right.... it does not exist.
I just got to college a few days ago and actually lost few pounds so I actually have to try eating more lol
About how much do your weekly grocery hauls cost?
Do I need to change the water filter regularly?
