Got a bottle of this beside me having a bed time dram . Never thought I'd have a bottle of this do really appreciating it . Paid £65 In a whisky specialist shop 1 minute from my flat .
Just received my first bottle of this after waiting 18 months. WOW this is truly something special. I also have the Killkerrin 12 which is very very similar. Hard picked to pick between these 2. They are both exceptional. Heavy barley influence which I love and the oily texture is divine. Man this is heaven. Fortunately I have both of them now but would happily buy more if I could. Campbelltown is definitely my favourite region. Not for everyone, but for me it is perfection.
This is a crackin' review of a crackin' whisky from a crackin' whisky reviewer! This is a great whisky, but I've only ever been able to get my hands on one bottle and it is long gone. I keep thinking someday things will shift and it will be more available again at a fair price. To be honest, my cabinet is full and I just don't shop as much these days. I have quite a queue... but it is a job that needs doing. Thanks, Jim.
Thank you for the kind words Bud. I think we all wish this was more available but...can't see it haen any time soon. And, like yourself, I could do with easing up on my whisky buying a bit 😔😇 Cheers my friend.
Icing sugar too- agree this is the best distillery bottled non cask strength 10 year old scotch. Have found plenty of batch variation but they’ve all been great. If you like this have a look at Benromach cask strength
Thanks for shining another light on Springbank 10yo. Love it and great to dive into the (possible) batch variation... looking forward to that add on. Slainte mhath
Hi Jim! I agree completely. Best Distillery. Best 10yo. To think that only one year ago, I could buy a bottle of this for 35€ at the supermarket. Now it's up to 60, but at least I can still get it. Cheers, Bernd
Cheers Bernd. It's a sad, unfortunate truth that we are victims of Springbank's success. We put them there but...when their whisky was/is that good...it was always gonna happen.
Great re-review mate. Absolutely love this one, my batch is 17.08.2021 as well. Had a few misshaps trying to get a bottle and especially one shipped here as I'm sure you can imagine! But eventually got hold of one at a reasonable price and it was certainly worth the wait. I just love the blend of the sweet flavours with that unmistakable funk. Have yet to try Yoichi, I must keep an eye out.
Synchronicity in play here as I am working on the same thing with SB10. As you stated there are multiple batches per year. I have 3 different 2019 batches/bottlings. I’ve heard there can be upwards of 5 per year. “Malt Reviews” talked about this as well in their SB10 reviews. Interesting comparisons for sure. Cheers 🥃
I cannot get my hands on a bottle of Springbank 10 now, and I won't pay crazy prices for it (it's good, but not that good). So I buy Glen Scotia 15, Craigellachie 13, Clynelish 14, Glencadam 10 and others.

Love the video. I really like watching you enjoy. Your tasting notes teach me a lot about my own tasting

Cheers Frank. I don't think I'll ever feel anything but love for this expression. It's always there for me on the dark days 😉😄
Slàinte my friend.

Have my first bottle of this arriving today
I hope you enjoy it buddy.
Ben Nevis 10 is often touted as a good alternative. However, I've only had the new version and I'm not getting a lot of "old garage" from it.
I actually suggested the Ben Nevis as a good alternative to the Yoichi so...they're all in the same camp or thereabouts.
Cheers buddy.
Took me a while to come round to loving this, but after years of revisiting it I’m hooked on anything from SB these days.
Cheers John. It's an expensive addiction mate 😉
@@WhiskeyNovice it sure is, work trip to Machrihanish next week so I’m hoping I can get some things from the distillery, without the stress!

Cheers Matthew. I'll certainly never tire of it mate.
I haven't even seen a Springbank in the wild over here in a few years. I keep looking, though...
Enjoy the hunt Jesse 😉
Cheers buddy.

Cheers John. It's an experiment that I'd never tire of trying my friend.
Just found a shop that have 5 brand new shiny bottles behind the counter.
I got one (£70)....
The question is should I get another tomorrow morning!??

All great bottlings André. And every one of them a great alternative to SB. Cheers.
Ah geez, this video made me thirsty for Springbank. It's early afternoon so it's OK to have a dram, right?
😄😄 I'll not tell if you don't Mike 😉
