the issue with the 3rd grader analogy is that every other team in the country has struggled against a "3rd grader." PSU with IU, Georgia with auburn/south carolina. It feels unjust to say michigan is just beating inferior opponents while every other team struggles against inferior opponents

No you're wrong. Corum and Edwards will remind you of what they did last year...no need to wear and tear them up to this point. They have a great rotation to give other rb's snaps and keep them healthy.
I agree with this. I think the coaches knew coming into this season that the front end of their schedule wasn't great and they wouldn't need to put a heavy load on Corum and Edwards to win games. Now with 3 games left, against their best competition, you might see a ground and pound running game similar to how they played last year. Their running backs are fresh and haven't been called on to run the ball 40 times a game to win. Additionally, JJ is improved over last year, so he can be relied on much more if Penn State loads the box and commits to stopping the run. Other additional factors that I think are important are that Michigan hasn't had to show it's entire playbook on film because of the marginal competition they have played, meaning they probably have a bunch of plays saved for their best competition, that being Penn State and Ohio State in these last 3 games of the season. Plus, Michigan got to see their biggest two competitors on film prior to them having play each of those teams, when Penn State played Ohio State. All advantages in my opinion, but you still have to go out and execute and win the games.

He brings in the recruits and wins 10 games a year… Pretty good numbers if you ask me now the fact that he can’t beat Ohio State or Michigan or a top 10 team is a trend that he needs to change but there are lots of coaches like that. He’s just happens to be in the spotlight of the scrutiny right now. One thing I will say is that he does not seem to develop players at the level you would think they should be… If you are bringing in a top five class almost every year I don’t know it’s just they’re not turning out Nfl talent nearly as much as, you think should be
If you look at the big picture, he has a top 10 program that is in a great place on the national landscape. Lot of people here seem to think college football started in 2021, these teams are 6-6 in the last 12 matchups. Even the 2021 game was a 4 point margin. Should be a good one.
Yes, psu usually plays Michigan tough, but 2022 Michigan was the most talented MI team in 20 years. The 2023 team is even better and is the deepest team in the B10 and maybe/probably CFB. Easily the most talented MI team in my lifetime.
Don't think same can be said for psu. Only way Michigan loses is of they beat themselves with penalties and turnovers, 2 things they haven't done in 3 years outside the TCU game.
We own PSU 16-10 all time. All of PSU’s wins come from Rich Rod and Brady Hoke. Franklin is 2-6 vs michigan when fans are in the stadium and when he loses it’s not even close.

I been saying this for a year. If PSU Is built to beat OSU why have they beaten UM numerous times? They've only beat osu 1 time. PSU is better than what UM fans think. Homefield advantage is massive. Allar has played very well at home. Coming off arguably his best game of the big 10 season. Gonna be funny When Defense stuns UM and their fans. "We ran for 418 last year" this is 2023 trust and believe PSU players have had this one circled more than OSU.

Michigan's rushing game in 2023 has been a fraction of its 2022 self. In part because they haven't had to rely on it and with the exception of the Purdue game most of the starters haven't seen the 4th quarter (adds to stats being lower than last year). I think Penn St is the 2021 version of Michigan but the bad news is that same 2021 version of Michigan is now the better 2023 version of Michigan. Home field will play a big role in this game for sure. For Penn St to win Michigan has to beat themselves and have turnovers/penalties. If Michigan does what they have all year, especially on the defensive, I think it'll be a long day for Penn St's offense (especially a young QB). Over the past two seasons Michigan has beaten arguably better Penn St teams with again arguably worse Michigan teams. But this is why we play the games! Good luck to both teams and Go Blue!

I think Michigan realizes how many weapons are on the offense and that they don't have to run every single running back into the ground like last year. Edwards had a broken thumb and Corum was out. Franklin can't beat high ranked teams. His record speaks for itself.
We don't get to play a "#3" ranked Notre Dame team at home in early September (2022), so our high ranked teams are legit. No shame in losing to the best.

I totally agree. If either team can run the ball well, that's probably the difference. But I don't expect either team to be able to do that. So, it is going likely boil down to which QB can get first downs for his team. So far, I haven't seen that from Allar. But I know how he was recruited. I know he has that in him. Will he show it this weekend? Or will we not see it until next season? Don't know. We will find out.
As an OSU fan, I might be more excited for this game than OSU vs Mich St. It’s just such a huge game. If PSU manages to win than it creates the potential for a 3 way tie. If Michigan wins then it’s almost certain that the Big 10 championship and maybe even the CFP will come down to The Game.
