I found out about these a few months back and bought myself a pair. So much better than slippers or pumps. The soles are soft enough to feel the pedal but firm enough to give support. Perfect and good value for money too.
Just got my first rig, I've almost made the mistake of spending £80 in Sparco. I'm getting one of these first to try. Thanks for your video. You gained a subscriber.
I agree I've been using Aqua shoes now for three years, If they were marketed as Sim racing shoes, who would know they are aqua shoes, the type I use have vents in the soles
Just went out to Sports Direct and picked up a pair. Sized them as small as possible (kinda' like a climbing shoe) so that there would be no slop and since the neoprene stretches on your foot a little too small is better than a little too big. Can confirm, SUPER GRIPPY.
I disagree with the water shoe thing. I have those exact ones from Sports Direct and although on the brake pedal it's quite good, the soles are so grippy that your foot doesnt slide up and down the throttle at all and your foot ends up getting stuck in one position. Then you end up lifting your foot off the pedal and moving it every couple of corners. I also find the sole is too thick. It's thicker than my karting boots, but whereas the karting boots have a rubber but not sticky sole. The only problem with karting boots is the stiffness of the sole for sim-racing pedals. They are slightly too stiff. I've tried a bunch of the low end water shoes but most of them don't have the bit at the back where the sole goes around the heel which is essential for sim-racing and again usually the rubber is too stick for pedals.
@@Plan3tBob I use the Koden M51 Kart Motorsport boot atm. It's way softer than a good quality karting/racing boot and the grip on the bottom is really good. I would prefer a slightly thinner sole, but they are very comfortable, cheap and they are still the best thing I've tried.
I did the same. I payed a little more for mine from amazon but the are a little more sneaker than water shoe. They work perfectly . On a different note, what breed is your cat. I just got a rescued kitten that looks exactly like yours same color fur , eyes and everything. But i dont know anything about him.

Totally agree
I already bought a pair of aqua shoes for sim racing before seeing this video. It's good to know that it is a cheaper alternative to racing boots.

Just ordered a pair! Thanks Mate.

Good to know! I just picked up a pair identical to the video so if in practice they're too hot I'll know to drill some vent holes.

Interesting! I was just umming and ahhing over some rubber covers for my new TLCMs, but I reckon I'll try this first. Good video, good cat.
Same here I was going crazy my shoes were too big for the pedals size I was about to break something
Definitely going to give these a go. Not sure about the bad Pacman death impression at the end though...
LOL, yeah it did sound like that.🤪
never needed shoes until I got to try manuals on raceroom, one hour of punta-tacoing my way through laguna seca obliterated my feet 😆
The cat in the end made me give you a thumbs up 🤣 .. And I ordered myself a pair of Hot Tuna aqua shoes 👍
Really cool idea to use aqua shoes mate!😻👌
Sim cat loves her new saddle too!

Pretty neat idea, for my application, I'm just using some old slip ons, that lost it's appearance to go out on the street. 👍
When I'm playing and doing a conservative lap I generally drive with my big toe would these be better then that lol
Hmmm, I haven't tried the big toe driving method. But now I'm imagining you have an unusually oversized mutant big toe.😬

Did you find an 'ideal' shoe?

@@simongymer199 Nice, I'll take a look.
put a big sock over your throttle shoe to reduce grip :)
I use these!! They are brilliant.
I play barefoot, I hate playing in socks. I’m going to get a pair and if I like it I’ll come back and let you know. Thanks
So.. what did you come up with? Were they any good?
Turn them inside out
... If you find them too sticky
Omg thanks!!! I had acqua shoes for so long but they were sticky as hell and i couldn't use. Now i can thank uuuu
Do people generally wear socks with these?
Are these still good for sim racing and what gloves and the best and cheap
Yes, absolutely.
For gloves, watch this....th-cam.com/video/yJDf9VTdWq4/w-d-xo.html

Tuxedo cats are not a particular breed, just a regular moggy.
