The "jazzy version" I think sounds the best because it really features Angelina's amazing voice. But, this is my favorite version simply because I was lucky enough to be in the audience for this incredible performance with Toby Gad on the day the song was officially released. This is absolutely great because it is a live version! BUT, you have to listen to the slowed down jazzy version from Toby Gad's album. YOU WON'T BELIEVE HOW GREAT IT IS!
I don't want to pile on, but you do have at least one more version of this song to do. I also saw a version this morning recorded live on the Wish bus in the USA. Only Angelina can release like 7 versions of a single song and have them all go viral. Each version is different and each is spectacular, but the Piano Diaries version is a completely different take and it is the best of a horn of plenty.
This live from her LA concert is probably better than the "official" studio release (Mulholland vers). Angelina has recorded this many times now. This was at the Glendale concert a month or so ago and is my favorite live version for lack of a better word. But unfortunately, this is not the jazz version we had in mind for you. The version is a black and white album, audio only on Toby gads piano diaries. It is worth doing that even if a third time! A totally different feel and style. In spite of that, your reaction was great.
FYI. It’s not on any album. It’s a stand alone release at the moment. It may eventually be on the Piano Diaries 2 album that Toby is working on. The jazzy version can be found on Angelina’s channel.

When you can vocally generate the soul singing of Janis Joplin, then add in the 'slurring' jazz style of Amy Winehouse, and incorporate your own improvisational ability using techniques learned from Billie Holiday, the result is mind blowing for sure.
This was the stage power version. Great but not the slower jazzy version, which I think is the best version of all and she completely changes the feel and meaning of the song while staying with the same lyrics.

This is NOT the Jazzy version. This mess, which only the voice of Angelina could save, I can only guess that they thought they could stick any kind of thump crazy drum package and make it a Pop song. This is absolutely great because it is a live version! BUT, you have to listen to the slowed down jazzy version from Toby Gad's album. YOU WON'T BELIEVE HOW GREAT IT IS!
I don't want to pile on, but you do have at least one more version of this song to do. I also saw a version this morning recorded live on the Wish bus in the USA. Only Angelina can release like 7 versions of a single song and have them all go viral. Each version is different and each is spectacular, but the Piano Diaries version is a completely different take and it is the best of a horn of plenty.
I think you'll see that that song can get better once you hear the actual jazzy version--on Toby's site.
This live from her LA concert is probably better than the "official" studio release (Mulholland vers). But it's not the jazzy version (which is not labeled jazzy at all but is known as the "Piano Diaries" version). These two are pumping out music at such a pace even they can't keep track. Good, on one hand, to have so much choice but trying to communicate a version becomes a true challenge.

Angelina has recorded this many times now. This was at the Glendale concert a month or so ago and is my favorite live version for lack of a better word. But unfortunately, this is not the jazz version we had in mind for you. The version is a black and white album, audio only on Toby gads piano diaries. It is worth doing that even if a third time! A totally different feel and style. In spite of that, your reaction was great.
FYI. It’s not on any album. It’s a stand alone release at the moment. It may eventually be on the Piano Diaries 2 album that Toby is working on.

This was the stage power version. Great but not the slower jazzy version, which I think is the best version of all and she completely changes the feel and meaning of the song while staying with the same lyrics.

Nice reaction to the wrong video! The jazzy version is an audio only on TH-cam. The exact name is Bad Valentine (Piano Diaries) version. This jazzy version is much slower and has only Angelina's vocals, Toby on piano, and some string instruments. You guys basically listened to a live version of her official music release...the style like her music video. This is NOT the Jazzy version. This mess, which only the voice of Angelina could save, I can only guess that they thought they could stick any kind of thump crazy drum package and make it a Pop song. Why they would want to ruin a great Blues/Jazz song like this?
In the Jazzy version things quiet down in the percussion section and the piano again claims it's proper weight in the piece. Well here is the link to that.
