Pokémon is fail safe only for holding 10 to 15 years + . If Pokemon fails good everything becomes antiques and rare art which will increase prices and be more on pawn stars lol. If it continues even better . You really can’t lose unless you are opening tons of packs for quick gains. Buy slabs and buy sealed boosters and watch your money grow

If Pokémon halted production and stopped the TCG altogether it would rise even quicker price wise imo. If they carry on producing then it will rise steadily. Win win.

The way I think about this, and to add onto your section about remaking the games years later for the older fans. The kids that grew up with gen 1 are now in their 30s and are having kids of their own. Drawing the older fans back to the hobby increases the likelyhood that these parents will pass this hobby / introduce their kids into this hobby.
This increases generational follow through.
Parents that are willing to spend on a hobby will spend on their kids in the same hobby.
It is far more effective then Disney's strategy of simply tageting kids.
Pokemon in years to come will take over for this reason as they have found a way to involve both the older and younger generation simultaneously.
100% they keep engaging their older fans and creating new ones. In saying that I think that’s a really hard thing to do.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Can’t seem to target younger generations effectively. A real shame imo because it’s a fantastic franchise.
Insanely difficult to do! Disney started doing this and it was very effective with the animation version of the movies. But I think the recent remakes of old movies like the Lion King, Aladdin and others didn't hit home as well as they thought it would. Pokemon have managed to do this extremely effectively.
It is a shame about Yu-Gi-Oh, so let's appreciate how well Pokemon have been able to pull this off! @@phillips.collectibles
