We had to start a redshirt freshman at LB instead of our starter, Michael Rose-Ivey, who is one of our 2 best players on defense. We also started a sophomore at CB instead of our starter, which directly resulted in at least one BYU TD. The suspensions, or lack thereof on the part of BYU, had a direct impact on the outcome of the game.
