    A legend. This is what I love about mma, he doesn't speak the same verbal language as a lot of his opponents, but combat is so universal that it feels as though we know him well through that universal language.

    Still can't understand how he fought Royce Gracie for 90+ minutes!

    • @D25700
      @D25700 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      they realy fought a bout 5/8 minutes all together. the rest of the match was pretty much hanging in the ropes holding position.

      Then had the guts to fight Igor Vovchanchyn for another 15 minutes or so....

      Plexiun it was more than 90 minutes. More like 100 minutes. Then he came back in the same night and fought a draw after almost submitting #2 ranked heavyweight at the time Igor Vovchachyn for another 10 minutes. Royce was fighting defensively, escaping Sakuraba's submission attacks.

    When asked about the Gracies, he said i just happened to win. That is very humble there.

    From this clip you can tell why Ariel Helwani is the best MMA journalist. He was asking the best questions and the Brazilian journalists need to stop asking Brazil specific questions if they even wanna come close to Ariel.

    the Japanese abused him, he fought outside his weight class against guys who were roided out of there brains! his body took really hard punishment and now he's paying the price. I think he was the greatest grappler in MMA

      his nick was Gracie Hunter, not Killer. Gracie Killer was Wallid Ishmail for dominating Gracie's in BJJ comp. Saku's other nicks were IQ Wrestler and Pro Wrestling Messiah, both given to him as well as earned.

    Who is this lady questioning Sakuraba?? His nickname was Always "The Gracie Hunter", not Gracie Killer... SMH mann, I've been following MMA fr a long time, and seein/hearin new MMA Media members come out of the woodwork trying to cover this sport is laughable. they're getting paid to mispronounce names, refer to fighters as Different nicknames, askin questions that have been answered over and over in fighter's careers... real talk, it's honestly mind-boggling.

    • @americanmuscleamericanmusc4581
      @americanmuscleamericanmusc4581 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Maybe , and this is far fetched and purposely so, she was confusing Sak with Alex Stiebling and getting there nicknames muddled up?...hahaha jk. Yeah, it's pretty crazy. I've been around the fight game for over twenty years as well and I think, in many ways, in terms of reporters etc, its gotten a LOT worse .
