Just so you know, the output on this video is relative to all of my other videos. The gain knob on my mic was set to the exact same spot for all the corps' lots. The reason this recording sounds "Volume too low," is because that is how loud they were actually playing. Crown was not as loud this year compared to years past. Also, TH-cam puts a limit on the maximum output volume a video can have, which you can see in the "stats for nerds" section under "content loudness." This video is -5.5dB under the 14 LUFS limit that TH-cam has, so its about as loud as you can get on TH-cam. I would suggest getting hearing aids if this video isn't loud enough for you.
At around 7:56 there is this one song that I’ve heard them play and I just can’t get over it. I want to know that song so bad. What I know is that it has been called “Project21:Reprise” and it’s based off of “Carolina in my mind” but I just can’t find the sheet music. I would really love to teach my brass this song as a nice lyrical warmup, but I just can’t find the sheet music.
I have enjoyed drum and bugle for 50 years. I love listening to their practicing and performing. I am glad so many young people love to participate. Where can i go to watch them practice???
Iirc, for finals week the warm-up lot is Military Park, just a few blocks north of Lucas oil stadium in Indianapolis. I'm not sure about other competitions, but for finals week the lot is completely free and open for public viewing!
I didn't like Crowns show this year... I am actually a BD fan and I think Coats shoulda won... but there is NO WAY on Gods green Earth that this ISN'T a Jim Ott Award winning line.
My take on Right Here Right now. I saw a couple of fundamental flaws in the shows DESIGN, (Not the performance) First, too much emphasis of drums. People dont wait for Crown shows to see multiple and lengthy drum breaks, which has never been their strong suit. They want their damn HAIR parted with that brass line. Secondly, after the countdown gets to ZERO, people expect, (rightfully so) that they hear that brass line on the count of zero. Very disappointed to see a 1 minute drum break first. That is a show design flaw contrary to Crown tradition IMO, At the very end, I believe I could have picked a better and more opportune time to present the CROWN, and a better one, as in the 2019 version at the very end. Thats the best Crown set of all. Crown did the best they could with what they had to work with and 4th isnt bad.
@@dennissmathers898 What you are noticing is what ALL corps are doing. They are making the horn licks/runs much harder and longer but then giving their chops a break in between with filler from the front and battery. It keeps the content score higher, even if they dont quite nail it. They earned their Ott award 100%. Crown was RUNNING while playing some of these licks. The other top 5 parked and blew for technical runs.
@@trevorcheyne3810 IDK but I think SCV won one year with their brass line when they won it all, and I was OK with that. I feel they deserved it. But as for the Blue Devils? WAY WAY WAY too much unresolved dissonance in their shows traditionally to please my ears. Seems that fans are always glad when their show is over to give their ears a rest. Is it possible that a 11+ minute show can be performed without a major chord in the entire production?
Lol, just noticed the time stamp labels, I’m the one that’s talking at the end of the video I think I said something like “Let’s take it CrownBRASS” (my voice was shot all three nights)

@@TDDrummer1 You can't win with a 5th place drum line. Crown seems to have an issue year after year with that caption. Yes, they are a solid line but to actually win you have to be more than solid. You need something that the others don't have and they simply don't have the pedigree that SCV, Blue Coats and BD has. Just an observation.
@@gabrielrenner5512 Thanks, but that can’t be all, is it? What do the crowns represent in the realm of humanity? Does the corps have a philosophy? A doctrine? A motto/creed? Probably for the outfits. The playing is exceptional those outfits are ugly as sin

Jealous. They have no BEAST hornlines.

why are they all so caked up tho like damn
lmao😭
The amount of dedication and willpower it would take to actually join a corps like this is insane
Be careful, some people get very offended when you don’t refer to them as drum and bugle corps…

the amount of money lol :(
I love how they add in the fingers and horn positions while they sing. Something I haven’t seen them do before.
