Their intonation is what I also found so very impressive. Is perfect pitch required of these young players to be a member? They certainly seem to have the gift.
BRO! What a coincidence! One of our Baritone techs aged out at crown 2019. And one during brass block I heard him say “Baritones think DAAAAARK CHOOOOOCOLATE”
Hi Scrappy, I’m a new Sub.....thx for your channel! Oh and how brilliant is it to teach your talent to sing 🎤 what they’re to play for pitch perfect tone???!!!!!!
I love Crown, been following them since 1985, watched tremendous growth and development of the Corps over time, to include this multi-award winning horn line. For some reason, I couldn't get the 2019 show....I may be off by miles, but I didn't feel 100% buy in by the performers. Not to say they didn't perform brilliantly (they always do, because they can), I just didn't feel the emotional connection I feel when I'm watching a crown show. Technically clean? as usual. perfect intonation, pitch, full brass sound as always, battery and guard included. I just didn't connect with this show, and I kind of feel they didn't either. This Corps can play the hell out of whatever they're given, obviously, but I can tell when they really connect with the story and the music, and I just couldn't this season.
Loved the woman in the green jacket ducking down to get into the inner circle- reminds me of when someone is ducking their head when entering the danger zone of a helicopter or was she bowing in homage to being amongst Greatness. What says you?
Matt Harlof: “You guys are so good that you don’t have to try hard!”
Facts.

Best brass, period.
LivingDonor777 well that is why they won brass caption
PERIODT
Matt Harloff as “coach” directs these uber talented young people into Angelic sound!!!!
Yes crown brass is best brass
13:47 is what I miss most about marching
The singing of the ballad hit got me so good
13:44 and onward... that singing.... almost sounds better than when the horns play..... gave me chills.
Crown once again the standard for brass. So perfectly balanced. Flawless intonation.
Their intonation is what I also found so very impressive. Is perfect pitch required of these young players to be a member? They certainly seem to have the gift.
Just in case this video is the new “crown drops the hammer in the lot” video, I’m commenting early
Nice
@8:16 for a second gives me star wars duel of the fates vibes
We got those vibes all summer trust me 😂
7:05 chocolatey is the best word to describe the baritones

Carlos Perez-Hijar just curious, who was this techs name lol
Samer Issa Matthew Cocagne
Carlos Perez-Hijar oh my lord, I miss that dude 😂
Samer Issa do you know him?
4:33 whoever wrote this low brass entrance deserves a medal
I liked that sound @2:34...
But that blend @13:47 😯🔥🔥🔥 even the cameraman had to take a deep breath 😆
Perhaps the cleanest hornline besides 2013 crown in dci history
The tone from the trumpets is so warm that it doesn’t even sound like it’s from trumpets
That is why I love crown brass. They play with such a warm tone compared to the other top corps.
I miss all these great people
i wanna hear dank clouds 😭
yoo i was there for this. i took a few recordings on my phone and still have them. sounds 10x better in person
True
awesome video, thank you for recording.
Thanks! No problem
I love the Crowns Brass Line....and I’m a drum 🥁 line guy!!!!
God bless you🔥
What the hell are people talking about with “crown” this is a sixers highlight reel
Thank you
No prob!
You are now listening to the Best Brass of 2019, and many more before.
The guy in the pink shorts at 5:09 is the brass director at my school.

Carolina Crown was founded in 1988...
you can hear an overtone at 8:24
Unreal

13:47 The sound I expect to hear when I meet god
Wait is the bit from 9:42 in 15/16? Crazy time signature
Yeah they play a song called Bucimis that’s in 15/16. The way it’s written is just alternating between 4/4 and 7/8 but still achieves the same effect
Wow that sounds wild!...but I like it!🔥🔥🔥
ONE AND DONE at 12:38
The acoustics in there are terrible-sounds like a cafeteria-love Crown's brass!!!
I think the acoustics are amazing!!...the resonance and echos in that space only add to the depth of sound.
@@johns3106 for real. It can really muddy up their sound but when you're THIS GOOD it does not make one bit of a difference.
Ok who is the one dislike from
Is this the Indy stadium warmup room cause I think I warmed up in there once
It is
@@scrappysbootlegs3676 It sounds so nice in there, the reverb is crazy.
6:30 is what I like
7:05
What's the chord at 10:03?
Sounds like a Gmaj9
I marched Crown this past season and its Gmaj7 maybe add9 but I think it was just a 7 chord lol
Gmaj7 11, I can't really hear a 9 in there but definitely the 7 in bari's and 11 in the trumpets.
G sus4 sus7. It's the first note of a phrase, it only exists for an eighth in the show.
@@welovethat2218 major 7, I don’t hear a 9
