Amazing video Kai loved it, you mentioned wanting an anime. Well there is a little bit of animation, this also explains a lot about the apex predators and the main villain of this game. This is a character trailer for a character in Apex legends and by far it’s my favorite one of these. Plus it’s very related to titanfall 2. th-cam.com/video/FTk9VD2nPuw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ASmlxv2bEw8eNg35 Keep up the awesome content!!!
One small detail nobody ever notices is how BT is left handed when he's fighting by himself, but switches to right handed when he's being controlled by the right handed pilot.
Oh... cool one indeed... the one I love the most is BT never stop looking at Cooper when he fight Viper during the flight scene... just to respect the protocole 3.
From what I've read in the comments, sounds like it's never going to happen but I was listening to a podcast recently, I'm positive they mentioned a Titanfall 3 rumour.
@@kaizammitThere was also a post on twitter where respawn was saying Titanfall was at the core of their dna, but I’m doubtful. Apex is making a lot of money it seems their focus is there. The Titanfall community has been led on so many time they are starting to lose hope. But with recent apex news and rampant hackers maybe we can wait a little longer 😅
@@croatiaboy11the guys that made this game are great. If you follow the games they were involved in there’s not a bad game. One of the medal of honour games, call of duty, WAW, MW1,MW2, TF1,TF2, original Apex legends. No idea what they’re up to now.
An interesting detail is that after BT's first supposed "death," a great touch they added was how Cooper doesn't say a word throughout that entire section of the game, even while there are plenty of people in his ear trying to communicate to him. The video cuts out most of the gameplay, but Cooper is completely silent and refuses to respond to any instructions or questions given to him for 2-3 minutes while he silently mows down enemies. And as the person playing the game, you yourself would feel the same way he does: too filled with rage and sorrow to say anything, because both you and Cooper have built such a connection to BT that can only be fully experienced through the hours of gameplay this game provides outside of the few hours of cutscenes this video provides. That's what I love about this game, you don't play as Cooper, you ARE Cooper.
yea watching this made me feel like i was watching a dvd that kept skipping, not too bad for me because i've played through the game 3 times in the last year so i know whats missing but it sucks for people watching the apparent "movie" because you have half the context
also the first death then bringing him back relieves you because then you subconsciously think he cant be killed, thats why the second one hits so hard
Controller player. I think he was playing on a console I don't know, the game was kinda buggy here for some reason, a lot of textures were glitchy and I've never actually seen blisk appear and disappear mid cutscene@@Crunchy166
@@Crunchy166and "as a movie" lol, noemally you upload a gameplay movie already knowing what happends to get the best angles and the most immersive feeling
Three other cool things here most people miss: -1: In the training pod, when Lastimosa lets you call down a Titan, if you're quick enough you can see its ID-code: FS-1041. The Titan chassis that replaces BT's original one in the last level also has the tag FS-1041 before you install BT. This hints Lastimosa was already calling in favours to get Cooper his own Titan for training, and makes it one last gift for Cooper from Lastimosa. -2: In the cutscene where Cooper's captured and Slone takes the Ark out of BT, BT actively reaches for Blisk rather than randomly swiping. And Blisk pulls and awesome flip to dodge around it before running off. -3: In the very first mission's end cutscene, when you exit the sympod, you see Lastimosa loading up the SERE-Kit, loading in stuff and putting the optic back, subtly foreshadowing you'll be taking it out.
@@kaizammit I heard you bought the game and want to play it. Are you gonna stream it or just play it by yourself? I would love to watch your playthrough!
@superturrican2181 I might record the first part and see how it goes tbh. When I play games, I can't process the filmmaking side of my brain so it would be me just playing having a blast. Would that still be interesting? 🤔
@@kaizammit Explanation was: When during the mission "Effect and cause" (time travel mission), BT copied and uploaded his core into Cooper's helmet to communicate effectively even when in different times. That copy stayed in coopers helmet.
You can perform melee executions on the bosses like you saw with Ash at 50:34. Sad the person recording didn't do it more, it always gave me much more of a satisfying victory.
@@SirBattleMasterI'm pretty sure cooper would have been proffesional only in the first half, but he does seem like the kind of guy to crack a joke to break the tension, so the fact that the funny lines actually play into parts of the story more that the proffesional ones make sense. Kinda like the "throw" part or the "not leaving you"
1:58:39 "After Slone's death, he offered Cooper a place in the Apex Predators, stating that his contract with the IMC was up and that he doesn't work for free, ignoring orders for him to kill Cooper. He would eventually be able to escape the destruction of Typhon and rebuild the Apex Predators. After the Frontier War, Blisk would relocate to the Outlands and became the commissioner of the Mercenary Syndicate's bloodsport, the Apex Games. "
One thing this game did so well, and im glad you mentioned it, is the vignettes scattered throughout the game and large ammount of side characters that get brief mentions. Even though you're the main character in this hugh mission, there is still this massive world that is also doing its part to hinder/help you. I don't know why, but I had a strong connection to the 6-4. Almost a "blink and you'll miss it" mercenary group in the story. The environmental storytelling in this game is just off the charts, and most players can't help but have a favorite moment or 2 that just sticks with them.
The 6-4 are fantastic. Took me like 3 seconds to start loving them. Reminds me of my favorite co-workers Ive ever had, just some dudes with plenty of ability that are also very positive and love what they do. Fantastic.
@@kaizammit Just something to add, many of the characters that don't show up much in this game were explored more in-depth in the first game's campaign. People like Barker, Sarah, and Blisk. Also, the ship that you start off on that crashes in the second mission is actually named after a character that dies in the ending of the first game's campaign, James MacAllan.
On the topic of Titanfall's helmets being large, they're actually much more reasonably sized than a lot of video game sci-fi helmets. A lot of sci-fi games give their characters helmets that are meant to look in-proportion to their body, but that an actual person's head would never fit inside. Titanfall's helmets are scaled more realistically, which makes them look large at times. As someone who does a lot of Titanfall cosplay, it's very helpful.
Although I will add, the helmets in game are very clearly quite tight fitting, even if more realistic than most sci fi, and many cosplayers end up with the bobble head effect anyway, but that could also just be cosplayers not exactly having a soldiers physique, haha.
@@vyviid I mean, they're tight fitting because they're packed with protective plating and electronics. If you stuck a radio, a Raspberry Pi, some holographic projectors for the visor, a cooling system for the electronics, and then like a combined inch of plating and padding in there, that space would disappear real quick.
Its also the outfits that the pilots wear cause its not very bulky like other franchises who wear full armor its like a standard uniform plus helmet and jumpkit cause on some of the enemies the helmet doesn't look to big at all it looks proportionate because they're wearing a bulkier outfit
9:10 omg i just noticed this, lastimosa says that "this is not the real thing", and when he passes his titan onto you he says "this is the real thing" thats such awesome attention to detail
True, but I think he more is talking about how weightless you feel getting thrown through the air and the lack of impact/landing. It's a disconnect between the player and the game's world when you jsut bounce off a surface instead of the character taking a moment to react to the momentum and impact.
@@CertifiedSunset The jumpack thrusts downward to reduce momentum. If there was impact in every landing, pilots would need constant knee replacements. The only time the jump pack doesn't reduce a fall is when viper throws you onto the draconis
This game also has a lot of really cool little details. For example: When the time travelling starts there's the presentation room you end up in on like the 3rd teleport. If you go close to the podium the guy will acknowledge you, and an audio log in the present will change depending on if you caused an interruption or not. And in the mission where BT gets kidnapped he says "watch your step" at the start (our watch OUR step if you are piloting BT at the time), and there's bonus dialogue if you in fact don't watch your step. There's more but those are some of my favs. Lots of little world building moments you can easily miss Edit: going to list a few more I like; BT and Cooper have different dominant hands as you can see by BT holding the gun differently in pilot vs titan mode Enemies you kill in the past will show up as old corpses in the present during time travel Ash stops the platforms if you don't ride up the moving ones to her little dome arena, and if you jump off after the last one starts moving she'll be disappointed and you have to redo it.
My favourite detail is that the Titan Cooper calls in during training is FS-1401, and before you put BT’s core into the blank Vanguard it has the same name, meaning it was probably going to be Cooper’s when he finished his training
Another one is that BT will autoswitch to the most relevant loadout for a task he does (assuming you have it) like how during the relay mission bt will switch to ion to plug in the cables after you return with the arc tool
I think the way they killed BT actually worked phenomenally because the first "death" sets up that false sense of security of oh yeah they wont do that again because we can just pull the cheap trick of transferring his core and then in the very next segment of the game the sacrifice that destroys the core hits you harder since you had basically just been shown massive plot armor
The guy doing the gameplay is incredibly good at missing the cool way to do things - every single boss has a unique execution that he just refused to do Also never switched between all the different weapons and classes for the titan
Absolutely love this game, though I thought the gameplay you watched wasn't the best. They cut some nice moments out and hardly ever did any assassinations, especially against the named enemies. They never realized you could hack a bunch of systems, including the robot enemies with your data knife either. Not to mention they hardly ever used any of the other Titan Loadouts which help to vary up the gameplay quite a bit. Regardless, still a good watch!
Believe it or not, I've seen worse players playing the campaign. I saw one playthrough that completely ignored every single dialogue option, only used walls and slides when it was absolutely necessary and never executed. That was so painful to watch. It's like people see an FPS and think you're meant to play it like COD
What they also did really well is when you start off BT is very formal calling you “pilot” or “cooper” and doesn’t get jack’s jokes you can see BT learning his jokes and engaging more in his jokes and eventually also being less formal for example at the end BT calls him Jack
You are saying they should zoom in on the villain's' faces more, but I think the intention was to put ourselves in Cooper's POV. He would never get a close up, and neither do we. Through the entire campaign, we never see anything that Jack does not.
Also, I think part of the intention in not fully zooming in, therefore still showing the titan, is just yet another way that they cement the idea that pilots and their titans are essentially one.
I usually hate fakeout deaths because the second time (the real death) loses impact, but the way Titanfall 2 did it with BT still kept the impact for me.
Imo, it worked because the first one was very telegraphed, and you can tell the moment BT stagger forward without an arm. The second one went in the opposite direction by hitting you hard and fast, which likely caught many unobservant players off guard.
@@ShinigamiSamaH it also works in 2 extra ways, one more subtle then the last. the first death, the one before you get a new chassis, feels more like a second wind. quickly catching up, and finishing the job. the second death though is a bit special to me. not only do you lose bt again, but the chassis he was in too: FS-1041. the exact same one you had in the simulation. it was supposed to be a gift from lastemosa to you. and not only did you lose bt again, but lastemosa's gift too
@@ShinigamiSamaH to prove your point. I only noticed watching it this time that BT's second death was also foreshadowed While rebooting his systems after the fight with Slone, BT starts running through the protocols. When he gets to protocol 3, the text starts glitching, so you don't see if that protocol was successful or not. I saw it before, but haven't made the connection until now because I looked at it as a countdown (count up?)
@chojin6136 Yes, hence me saying it will catch people off guard if they aren't looking at BT's rebooting text. While that is foreshadowing, I don't consider it as being telegraphed since it is a "blink and you'll miss it" moment, as opposed to the first time having a minutes long segment showing how badly BT is damaged.
The final villain is Blisk a character from the first game, his mercenary group is called Apex Predators and is one of the founders of the Apex games (Apex Legends). He is still alive in the Titanfall universe and was most likely being set up to be main villain or anti-villain in the third game. A true mercenary at heart which is why he invites to be a predator.
@@kaizammit yeah you could disembark during the huge titan fight at any time but there was no reason to unless you want the pilot helmet collectables but exiting while fighting there would just put you at a huge disadvantage
There's an easter egg not shown in the video here. Not sure if others have mentioned it. If you beat the game on the hardest difficulty, his helmet flashes at the end. It flashes a message in morse code "Jack?". Love this series. Hoping for another one. BT is one of my all time favorite characters. Awesome video, as always!
@@ZeallustImmortal Did he watch after the credits? Idk and I don't think so cause on this video didn't show up. And do get pissed off cause saying the truth lol
Glad to see this. Titanfall 2 is an excellent game, and it's a damn shame we haven't gotten a proper sequel for it, and got the battle royale Apex instead. As a side note, there is a video on YT by Luke Correia titled, "An Exercise In Trust: How Titanfall 2's Voice Acting Makes You Care". It's about 24 minutes long, and it's another very good look into Titanfall 2. I highly recommend it.
As someone who literally started a master difficulty campaign yesterday for the 1st time, it's VASTLY different. I peek my head out to just see where enemies are so I can shoot, and I am instantly a critical hp lol, or if there's like 3 stalkers, I just die instantly hehe (I'm not insanely good at the game, if you couldn't tell)
what i love about bt and his voice is its cold he is 100% robot but the va (i forget his name) puts slight flair into it making such a robotic voice sound calming and you can trust him, he adds a soul to the souless
During the time travel level, you can approach the guy speaking and he’ll acknowledge you. When you jump back to the present you can interact with the desk and it will play back the speech with your interruption. However, if you don’t approach he won’t acknowledge you and you can get a different playback.
@1:25:25 the deaths of bosses change depending on how you kill them. when the health is caution tape you can perform an execution like the previous one you talked about. its player choice. same with BT dialogue, how he talks to you develops differently throughout the game depending on your dialogue choices.
They have it so that melee kills while a titan is doomed end in you doing a more cinematic kill animation. During the boss fights, they are the only titans that actually drop into a "doomed" state in the campaign, so it's up to the player to see the kill animations on the bosses.
You pointing out the obvious Japanese inspos warms my heart. A lot of people forget that Titanfall was inspired my not only a lot of Japanese culture but tons of animes. To quote one of the lead artists "its a game about Space Ninjas and Mechs and their relationship with each other"
Whoever made the original video really disappoints me. They went with the more 'proper' voice lines and cut the clips pretty poorly. They either left out plot points, extra lines, or cool cinematography/animations, such as the boss kills, all ya gotta do is melee them once they reach the 'critical' HP bar. And in general, but this is just a personal nitpick, it wasn't the best of gameplay either, felt clunky watching it. Very slow compared to what even a mid player could have done. But your reaction was still great! Good to see an actual.. review I guess. Most reviews just point out the good and leave out the bad, not that there's really anything wrong with TF2, one of the best games of its generation, but it was nice to see. You, good sir, have earned another subscription. :D
Honestly, I wish the player had a little bit more “experience”. Seeing them get over a minute on the gauntlet hurt my soul, as well as missing all but one of the boss executions. It just felt so clunky, I would have loved to see him watch the gameplay of a veteran player.
Him: "They're not going to do that again, because it will have lost it's power." Me: "Oh my sweet summer child." At that point of "why does it feel like he's just sitting there, why aren't you doing things." The player controls the camera during that entire scene, so that's not on the cinematic itself. Also it's great because if you look back at the beginning, the pilot is preparing the cere kit in the cinematic at the simulation pod.
One thing I love about the first two levels of this game is that the tutorial gives you a taste of the movement and freedom a single pilot has, before stripping it away from you and grounding you for a few moments as a normal trooper in the battlefield. It really gives a scale difference of the abilites each soldier has and makes sense as of why normal soldiers would either shit themselves out of fear or cheer in triumph whenever they saw a pilot joining their fight. It's show-don't -tell done excellently.
Kuban Blisk (The main villian) is like the leader/owner of the apex legends game which is a bloodsport. The lore I don't really understand sometimes if he's the leader or owner but he's is and influential figure in apex legends
This game was such a breath of fresh air. It's so rare to see a game that goes out of its way to continuously keep things moving, add diverse gameplay elements, and not linger on them too longer. It's really easy to conceive a world where the time-jump level was an entire game, but they added it, kept it long enough to make it interesting, and moved on from it before it outstayed its welcome. The story was engaging and really focused on the building the relationship between Cooper and BT, and every story beat moves that growth forward. The ending seems like it should have felt like a cheap shot - BT "dies", only to get a new body and then die again, but for some reason it didn't. That moment when BT's system goes down doesn't really have the same impact watching it as playing it - you've just spent a good chunk of the last 8-12 hours inside BT's cockpit, and to be in that cockpit when the lights go out and you can't move or do anything but watch as his system is scrambling felt gut-wrenching. I really hope we get a Titanfall 3, but with the success of Apex Legends, it seems increasingly unlikely that will happen, which is honestly kind of tragic given the level of love they put into this game.
1:37:00 But it makes sense The momentum from the throw is added to the momentum from the jets, like if you're standing in a moving train and you jump forward, you don't land at the back of the train, you land in front of where you started, because the momentum of your jump is added to that of the train
so when you are talking about the physics from about the 1:35:00 mark it is interesting to note that it is largely physically correct. As you are moving at speed when you start falling from the ship you continue to move in that direction as you fall, This is because nothing has acted apon you to slow that movement other than drag(in order to keep the speed up + some limits of source engine they didnt have drag/much drag), so you travel on an ark in the direction you were traveling. Think of it like a running jump or a throw. same idea. Also as a fun fact all of BT's throws in the game are legit within the game engine, as in he actually throws you with a force and a vector within source instead of an animation as to better keep that feel of correct physics. will say I'm glad you touched on this point again at the end, wrote this before I got to that point. but yeah, source engine reasons is why it's like that. They needed to use source for the wall running and movement to work correctly for the speed and control they wanted but it is not as deep physically speaking as say unreal.
That calling card Blisk gives to Cooper is actually an invitation card to the Apex Games (Apex Legends), and since Apex Legends is in the future, Blisk was probably looking for people to start the Games. Its fun to think how TITANFALL 3 could have turned out if it didnt turn into Apex Legends, or Cooper might expect the invitation in the future and be in Apex, either as a legend or as an event boss or something. Damn EA and them making respawn cancel TF3 😔
That's what happens when they drop the game directly in the middle of a COD and BF game. The practically doomed it to fail. If they had held off another couple of months, the game may have sold more copies on release.
Why cutting the landing at 1:27:36 , that editor besides not knowing how to play for demonstrative purposes cuts good details. (Great reaction though❤)
that bit at 11:50 about how it’d look better in ue5; titanfall 2 is actually made using a modified source engine, so the games that you’d be comparing it to graphics wise would be like team fortress 2 and the portal games! titanfall was really ahead of it’s time in many, many ways, and that’s why it’s my favourite fps lmaoo
Titanfall 2 is one of my all-time favorite games, a casual playthrough is roughly 6 hours. Would recommend playing on at least Hard difficulty for slightly tougher enemies.
1:58:47 That’s exactly what it is. Kuben invited a bunch of people to participate in a battle royale gameshow. With Kuben being the Leader of the Apex Predators he decided to call it the Apex Games.
One of the coolest details that foreshadows something is at 1:58:08. (he says it multiple times, but thats the first) BT says "my analysis indicates a throw is our only option here" foreshadowing the last live saving fastball. Also really cool because it shows that even after the blast and with his systems messed up the '3 protocols' went through quicker than hell. BT is thinking of how to destroy the weapon, and then also protect Cooper.
Fun fact, at 52:22, the person speaking up front is general marder. If you dont get close, he does his speech, but if you get close he will comment "What is it test pilot, can I help you?". Ingame there are data entries in the form of recordings you can find, and one is of that very speech, and depending on how you play this mission, the recording will reflect the change as you changed the past.
Protocol 3. Protect the pilot….. from the beginning BT tells you you guys are guna complete the mission and he is going to protect you no matter what. It’s not often a game makes you feel so much for what is essentially an npc but when it happens it’s special. You just feel that bind between the Titan building and the gameplay enhances that.
22:35 Damn... You are good at predicting. In the credits, Jack's helmet blinks rapidly, which is supposedly morse code for "Jack?", probably sent by BT.
Goddamn! Seeing Protocol 3 in action again, still hurts to this day, everytime I see it :( I'm still holding onto hope that Respawn might someday create a Titanfall 3, this game was an absolute masterpiece.
one of the best reaction viedos i have seen so far i really like the fact that you never stopped the video to talk about something really smal for 10 minutes
I cant believe the video you watched cut it out so spoilers if you dont want to see. At the end of the credits, coopers helmet flashes light in morse code saying "jack?" Implying that BT is somewhere still, either some bit of his ai in his helmet, or perhaps he was teleported into an alternate reality when he went into the arc. We dont and will probably never know.
Actually, we know exactly what's going on, there. He even says it in the game, but at the time, it's done in such a subtle/easily forgotten way that it's actually quite genius. Remember how he transferred some of his AI functions to Cooper's helmet to stay in touch with him when Cooper time traveled? That's what's still in there. So it literally is BT in the helmet. :)
its not morse but binary code. A Flashing like the helmet does cant transfer morse, which is made out of short and long signals. Binary is just flashes. on and off. 1 and 0. And it makes much mor sense for BT to communicate in binary than in morse.
@@Soeck What? You can 100% do morse code wth a light. You just flash or hold the light on for dots and dashes. You're right in that it is binary, but to say it can't be morse code is just wrong.
@@kaizammit I haven't played through the TF2 campaign in years and it was a treat to experience it again with somebody for their first time. When you mentioned you wondered how they were going to mix things up I chuckled because as you saw, nearly every level brought a new or interesting mechanic. One of my favourite unique sections they didn't actually show in this video as its during gameplay but before you get to the fight with Ash (cool robotic baddie earlier in the game) you have to parkour your way up the city as its being built and spinning, so suddenly everything is sideways or upside down and its a real mindfart to navigate. You were considering playing through it a few times and I highly recommend it, it's around 5-6 hours to complete it and you'll get that much more of the relationship with BT etc.
God I love this game's subtle story telling so much. "Protocol 3: Protect the Pilot" was such a heavy line but got overlooked a lot. BT would reference it from time to time hinting at the ending scene which you instantly guessed. Then there's BT slowly forming a relationship you and forming mutual trust. Calling you from pilot, to Cooper at the factory out of sheer desperation and fear, finally to Jack after that vindictive mad dash, comms blazing in but no time to give a reply. Your just set on getting BT's data core to safety. Always gives me the chills.
1:29:20 yes, you can fight boss as a pilot in every encounter. you just jump out of your titan and start shooting and climbing on them. also, except the first boss and viper, you can get cinematic execution with every boss, you just need to damage them until the yellow and black health appear (doom state), and melee them to trigger your titan finisher
its nice seeing the cinematography of this game discussed cause there is so many little details to make it what it is. i know you mention cutscenes for killing and others have mentioned it but there is executions if you melee, also the reason they don't zoom for a bodyshot before fights is they want to show off the titan as well, as the titan is as much the boss as the pilot
the Titanfall games will forever by my favorite First Person Shooter experience. From the fresh feel of the universe and the insanely smoothly feeling to the controls and wall-running and utilizing your abilities and titan, these games are unmatched. I love hopping back on Titanfall 2 every now and again, now that Steam servers are back up.
1:28:41 that thing its like a bear trap in a nutshell, as even in a titan, constantly moving its key to survive, but with that it keeps you in place, unable to move much making you vulnerable and easier to hit wich on higher difficulty's would be death sentence xD
A fun little fact about the time traveling mission: The name of that mission is "Effect and Cause," which is the reverse of (you guessed it) cause and effect. The reason for this is that the events that happened in that facility already went down, but you were also there (hence, why BT says he detected traces of his own signature). For example, when you first go to retrieve the device on Anderson's body, you'll drop into a room full of dead security robots. A time distortion will activate and bring you to the past, and your presence in that room (the effect) is what activates those robots. You're then brought back to the present, and those robots are now "dead" because you caused them to be there.
Fun fact! Fs-1041 from the training simulation is the same titan you drop down in level 9 when unlocking legion. 2nd fun fact! In the effect and cause mission (time travel mission) the past is in fact causal to the present. This is evident in the university class hall part, the professor says "can i help you pilot?" If you get close. On his podeum there is an audio log in the present day (ruined facility). If you got close, it ends with the can i help you line, if you didnt, it ends at the last line of his lecture 3rd fun fact! Bt is one of very few remaining vanguard class titans. Vanguards are the tankier and more adaptable model. Whereas sarah briggs is in a monarch class titan, a later version of the vanguard based more around suppressive fire and maneuverability. 4th fun fact! The thermapylae was actually a militia ship taken by the imc. 5th fun fact! The card blisk gave jack is an invite to the apex games. From the rampart and mirage cinematics we can see that they also recieved cards, even after blisk ruined their life or damaged their reputation. That is why blisk walked away, he knew he didnt need to kill the pilot when he could potentially make a profit from him. 6th fun fact! At the end of the credits, there is a scene where pilot coopers unwiped helmet blinks in morse code. Translated, it says "C O O P E R" if i remember correctly. This means bt's data chip, ocular lens or at the very least ai, still lives.
A little piece of trivia, but, in the final cinematic, if just like Cooper, you're just a guy in his chair, too stunned to do anything, and you don't pick any of the 2 dialogue options, another "secret" dialogue plays, where neither BT or Cooper says anything, until BT ejects Cooper and simply "Goodbye, Jack." Fucking love this option more than any of the other two.
its a shame the recorder didnt pick the more joking lines from cooper like "missing me already" or "someone's in love" BT's response shows more of his character. There was also a few missed story and gameplay bits too. 1:01:20 - missed a dialogue response to BT 1:02:02 - walked away from the Anderson Log, showing how he died. 1:06:41 - BT responds to you stepping on an enemy to kill them rather than shoot. (also shooting at the friendly turrets rather than the enemies) 1:10:50 - Kills the MRVN rather than walking up and interacting with it. should be noted, all the bosses have a unique execute animation.
Just stumbled on this and man, great job! Felt like playing through it again. The campaign is a masterpiece. Great game and gunplay, big feck off robots, beautiful musical backing, awesome storytelling and being invested in the characters so much, you become emotionally attached. I highly recommend you get amongst and become one of us pilot!
@kaizammit awesome, can't wait for the playthrough. As a nzder, I think the Brit accent and slang is great and I'm stoked that you'll be able to experience the game for yourself. Stream will undoubtedly be great if you decide to do it live, I'll be there.
@kaizammit also, wanted to add, if you decide to delve a little further, Plot Coalition, here on YT decided to make a fan inspired multi episode story based around Titanfall. Highly recommend checking that out, too. Would be cool to see you do a breakdown of that.
Lets not forget, somewhere out there, BT is still alive. Theres a small scene after the credits, that has Cooper's helmet display Morse Code, something along the lines of "Jack, are you there?" Also, that "Calling Card" is an invite to the Apex Legends, something that actually happens after Titanfall 2, since Viper's kid is there.
Man you missed an era. Titanfall 2 to this day is still one of the best fps shooters of the past 15 years. Destiny combined from al its 10 years of dlc is its only rival
Can’t believe they cut the part where Ash’s arena builds itself before up. Really shows how you’ve been moving through fragments of the arena as it’s being constructed
Something to note about your disappointment with the boss fights; with the robot lady (Ash) when she was killed, the person playing the game did an execution by meleeing when here health was in the super low doomed state which plays that cool animations. If you do an execution on all of the bosses, they each have their own cool animations. So whenever you go to play yourself, I recommend trying to do that with every boss. There's also a lot of really good voicelines that weren't shown in the video you watch with them either being skipped, ignored or just having the other option selected instead. I implore you to listen to chat if you stream this so you can choose the ones that have really good storytelling or are just really funny.
Quick detail I think got left out of that video. In the last part right before the credits, the helmet's lights blink a few times. IIRC, that in morse translates to "Jack?". And just now I'm remembering... BT did transfer an AI fragment into Cooper's helmet to allow communication across time...
that wrist mounted device reminded me of a forgotten game called "Singularity" by Raven Software, it revolved around a wrist mounted device called the TMD or Time Manipulation Device!
I can't believe they edited out the smart core out almost every time 😂 It's like having that smart pistol but in minigun form. Don't need shoulder rockets with that.
6:30 Respawn is comprised of the original Devs from infinity ward, the original creators of CoD. 40:20 One of the many great things about this game is that every level has a new mechanic or gameplay dynamic that you have to adapt to. 1:45:35 This is the point where BT was humanized for me. His response came from a point of desperation instead of programming.
a funny thing to note during the throw to the beacon if you pick the "i need a change of underwear" bt will respond that hes added that as a note for the next supply drop
Something to note about the boss fight kills- every boss has a unique execution kill that plays when you melee the boss after their titan becomes "doomed" (secondary healthbar). Whoever was recording the gameplay clearly had no idea you could do this, so we missed a lot of the unique glory kills that exist.
One nice detail i"ve noticed when i played this game is that the titan you call in the VR world at the start of the game is the same titan that gets given to you when you have BTs data core
Hey Kai, there is a bonus scene if the game is completed on the hardest difficulty, it reveals that BT is still with us, through the subroutines he put in Jacks helmet
Might someone would mention, but after the ending credit, there is post-credits scene. the helmet showed at the end of scene, suddenly turns up, and blinks. it has two bright light, translate to ASCII code, '01001010 01100001 01100011 0110101100111111' which means BT transmitting to helmet "JACK?"
14:17 the mercenary took the guy's ear as a trophy/souvenir 50:35 This was an execution animation that you can use in the multiplayer. When a titan (player or npc) gets to "danger/caution" health and the health bar changes, if you melee them you initiate an execution animation which is determined by which titan you are using at the time. These executions snap you to third person to watch and are very cinematic/creative. While talking about executions, you can also equip many different variations to your pilot/player which are triggered by meleeing a human sized enemy in the back and are also in third person and very creative and over the top. 2:02:00 thats what would have happened to Harmony, lastimosa's home and the main base of our faction. You unfortunately missed the after credits cutscene, after the credits end it shows our/Copper's helmet which starts blinking. This blinking is Mores Code for JACK. While not confirmed it is never stated that BT removed the copy he installed on your helmet when you were time traveling. So I think that that copy is still existing in our helmet and could be used to restore BT. Apex Legends is the same universe and is hosted/done by Blisk as he seemingly seeks to gain new recruits for his mercenary group (I have never touched Apex due to me feeling like it takes away from Titanfall and prevents us from getting the next Titanfall game so I don't know much about the story there).
Man, favourite FPS campaign, maybe ever??? I recommend trying out the MP or just watching some high-end gameplay for multiplayer. (Specifically some attrition gameplay) It's pretty awesome to witness, it's one of those easy to learn, hard to master with a disgustingly high ceiling. If nothing else, I would recommend checking out the Apex Legends trailer for Valkyrie, there's a cool connection there. Also, It looks like this player had a very high FoV, so that makes some of the scenes look really weird and framed oddly. Blisk is also one of, if not the main villain of titanfall 1, and he is a big character in Apex Legends, in fact I think that's the name of his mercenary corps. There's also an after credits scene at the end with a cool little secret that links back to something that happened in the time travel mission.
This was a great watch. Titanfall 2 is probably by far my favorite shooter. And yes you can exit the titan at any time. Multiplayer really does show the scale in difference when your a pilot vs in a titan. Thanks for the reaction. 😢 Titanfall 3 forever in our hearts
1:37:27 I get it not making sense but it is how physics work. Jack and BT are moving as fast as all the jets because they are on them. The inertia from that plus the added energy of being thrown makes you move faster than the jet you were initially on. Still it would look more realistic if you were faster at the beginning then slowed down at the end from air resistance. But anyways, its the same principle with jets launching missiles in a fight. You can essentially throw missiles in a jet by using the jets speed propelling a missile in addition to its own ignition after launch. Its why you see when missiles drop from a jet they still travel the same speed as them because of inertia then when the missile adds its own energy from its combustion it travels way faster.

Amazing video Kai loved it, you mentioned wanting an anime. Well there is a little bit of animation, this also explains a lot about the apex predators and the main villain of this game. This is a character trailer for a character in Apex legends and by far it’s my favorite one of these. Plus it’s very related to titanfall 2.

there are theories that BT is actually still alive in cooper helmet, because in effect and cause episode he uploaded himself to cooper helmet.

Three other cool things here most people miss:
-1: In the training pod, when Lastimosa lets you call down a Titan, if you're quick enough you can see its ID-code: FS-1041.
Also BT's death gets foreshadowed in the time travel mission (BT says his scanners pick up data traces of himself)
@superturrican2181 no way, really!? That's awesome.

You can perform melee executions on the bosses like you saw with Ash at 50:34. Sad the person recording didn't do it more, it always gave me much more of a satisfying victory.
They also chose some of the more dry lines, too. Like they didn't choose the funny or camaraderie lines and kept it almost professional.

@@hangman4011 ikr dude, i was gonna say it but he lost all the personality building lines in the options.

@@SirBattleMasterI'm pretty sure cooper would have been proffesional only in the first half, but he does seem like the kind of guy to crack a joke to break the tension, so the fact that the funny lines actually play into parts of the story more that the proffesional ones make sense. Kinda like the "throw" part or the "not leaving you"
1:58:39
"After Slone's death, he offered Cooper a place in the Apex Predators, stating that his contract with the IMC was up and that he doesn't work for free, ignoring orders for him to kill Cooper.
Also little details and foreshadowing, like Lastimosa loading up SERE kit after you leave simulation
I clocked that off camera when I was going through it again. Very good.
The 6-4 are fantastic. Took me like 3 seconds to start loving them. Reminds me of my favorite co-workers Ive ever had, just some dudes with plenty of ability that are also very positive and love what they do. Fantastic.
“The 6-4 a family and we will kick your ass”
Its also the outfits that the pilots wear cause its not very bulky like other franchises who wear full armor its like a standard uniform plus helmet and jumpkit cause on some of the enemies the helmet doesn't look to big at all it looks proportionate because they're wearing a bulkier outfit
totally, like motorcycle helmets look big on most people
@@vyviidyes. A lot of scifi helmets basically replace the head.

The gravity feels wrong because Cooper is wearing jumppack, which is essentially a small jetpack. Its the same way he can double jump.
The opening part shows this. Before you get the jump pack, you stick to the ground so much.
True, but I think he more is talking about how weightless you feel getting thrown through the air and the lack of impact/landing. It's a disconnect between the player and the game's world when you jsut bounce off a surface instead of the character taking a moment to react to the momentum and impact.
@@CertifiedSunset Thats the jump pack. There is no impact, thats the entire point of the jump pack.
@@CertifiedSunset why would it not be weightless while wearing a small jetpack??
Lots of little world building moments you can easily miss
Edit: going to list a few more I like;
BT and Cooper have different dominant hands as you can see by BT holding the gun differently in pilot vs titan mode
Enemies you kill in the past will show up as old corpses in the present during time travel
Ash stops the platforms if you don't ride up the moving ones to her little dome arena, and if you jump off after the last one starts moving she'll be disappointed and you have to redo it.

@@kaizammitplease do play it, the guy you watched this from did a horrible job with the cuts. He cut or avoided at least 4 or 5 great scenes
Yes, I agree. I didn't expect to see it again but my doubt of, it's too early... There's still time did ring true.
The guy doing the gameplay is incredibly good at missing the cool way to do things - every single boss has a unique execution that he just refused to do
Also never switched between all the different weapons and classes for the titan
And he also managed to cut out so many cool moments
@jmasterchief3015
I just watched that and had to say "in all my 3 playthroughs, I didn't even know you could shoot him😂"
jesus , im sorry the presentation is god awful
I agree
yeah it was really rough watching this gameplay
Absolutely love this game, though I thought the gameplay you watched wasn't the best. They cut some nice moments out and hardly ever did any assassinations, especially against the named enemies. They never realized you could hack a bunch of systems, including the robot enemies with your data knife either. Not to mention they hardly ever used any of the other Titan Loadouts which help to vary up the gameplay quite a bit. Regardless, still a good watch!
Yeah the gameplay was painful to watch at times.
Exactly what i was gonna comment. Lots of really good content missed. Hopefully he can find more of it when he streams this on his own.
@@ShinigamiSamaH 'foreshadowing' was my intended meaning, the word just escaped me for the moment. Thanks for picking that up

Him: "They're not going to do that again, because it will have lost it's power."
Me: "Oh my sweet summer child."
At that point of "why does it feel like he's just sitting there, why aren't you doing things." The player controls the camera during that entire scene, so that's not on the cinematic itself.
Effect and Cause is in my opinion the greatest video game mission of all time, such a unique idea done so well.
1:24:00 You thought he ejected, but the story is that he tried to but his seat got stuck so he was yelling about that and he just exploded
Hearing "What will they do next to change up the gameplay and make it interesting?" as the 'Effect and Cause' title card appeared made me giddy 😂
I'm glad you finally got to the game. I love it and am still waiting for titanfall 3.
We all are
This game was such a breath of fresh air.
I do love that Kuben Blisk was a main antagonist in Titanfall 2 and founded the Apex Games (Apex Legends)
Titanfall 2 is a game that is always complimented and seeing your valid criticism like the boss cutscenes is very refreshing
1:37:00 But it makes sense
The momentum from the throw is added to the momentum from the jets, like if you're standing in a moving train and you jump forward, you don't land at the back of the train, you land in front of where you started, because the momentum of your jump is added to that of the train
so when you are talking about the physics from about the 1:35:00 mark it is interesting to note that it is largely physically correct.
@@Hydraclone another thing to damn EA by😔
1:28:00 war drums ..gives a such a glorious primal feel... bloody wicked
Why cutting the landing at 1:27:36 , that editor besides not knowing how to play for demonstrative purposes cuts good details.
(Great reaction though❤)
Imagine cutting titanfall from Titanfall. Also this FOV is obnoxious, especially for a cutscene showcase
I didn't understand that tbh, I was enjoying it too!
@@MrDarkSidius Respawn didn't test the campaign on high fov, that's why when you see it in max fov it looks weird
that bit at 11:50 about how it’d look better in ue5; titanfall 2 is actually made using a modified source engine, so the games that you’d be comparing it to graphics wise would be like team fortress 2 and the portal games! titanfall was really ahead of it’s time in many, many ways, and that’s why it’s my favourite fps lmaoo
44:50 the fact you picked up on a fact not explained until the spinoff game, Apex Legends, is insane. Bravo!
Goddamn! Seeing Protocol 3 in action again, still hurts to this day, everytime I see it :(
I'm still holding onto hope that Respawn might someday create a Titanfall 3, this game was an absolute masterpiece.
one of the best reaction viedos i have seen so far i really like the fact that you never stopped the video to talk about something really smal for 10 minutes
@@Soeck ah my mistake
@@Soeck They're basically the same, morse can be dots and dashes, auditory or visual like Jack's helmet flashing.
@@Soeck What? You can 100% do morse code wth a light. You just flash or hold the light on for dots and dashes.
You're right in that it is binary, but to say it can't be morse code is just wrong.
Oh baby been waiting for this one from you!
One of my favourite games and my favourite game reactor, what a perfect Saturday combo.
Thank you so much fella! I hope you enjoyed it, let me know. Kai
1:04:12 it’s a real crime they didn’t show the whole sequence of getting to the ark, it’s by far the most BEAUTIFUL part of the entire game
The voice actor for the main pilot is Matthew Mercer! He is the GM of Critical Role and a prolific VA for many other anime and video game properties.
its nice seeing the cinematography of this game discussed cause there is so many little details to make it what it is.
i know you mention cutscenes for killing and others have mentioned it but there is executions if you melee, also the reason they don't zoom for a bodyshot before fights is they want to show off the titan as well, as the titan is as much the boss as the pilot
the Titanfall games will forever by my favorite First Person Shooter experience. From the fresh feel of the universe and the insanely smoothly feeling to the controls and wall-running and utilizing your abilities and titan, these games are unmatched. I love hopping back on Titanfall 2 every now and again, now that Steam servers are back up.
Damn he called it at the beginning lol
Fun fact: when captain lastinosa said "take care of him" when he died he was talking to BT to take care of jack not the other way around
The jumps in the airship mission are weird, but something to consider is that you have actual jets on your hips, propping you up.
"will they do it again? Probably not now because it will lose it's impact"
😂😂😂
Famous last words
1:49:34 Yeah, SERE is an acronym for "Survival, Evasion, Resistance, Escape"
If you got close, it ends with the can i help you line, if you didnt, it ends at the last line of his lecture
3rd fun fact!
22:00
Man, your way to good at your predictions lol😂
A little piece of trivia, but, in the final cinematic, if just like Cooper, you're just a guy in his chair, too stunned to do anything, and you don't pick any of the 2 dialogue options, another "secret" dialogue plays, where neither BT or Cooper says anything, until BT ejects Cooper and simply "Goodbye, Jack." Fucking love this option more than any of the other two.
its a shame the recorder didnt pick the more joking lines from cooper like "missing me already" or "someone's in love" BT's response shows more of his character.
There was also a few missed story and gameplay bits too.
1:01:20 - missed a dialogue response to BT
1:02:02 - walked away from the Anderson Log, showing how he died.
1:06:41 - BT responds to you stepping on an enemy to kill them rather than shoot. (also shooting at the friendly turrets rather than the enemies)
1:10:50 - Kills the MRVN rather than walking up and interacting with it.
should be noted, all the bosses have a unique execute animation.
51:14 Oh, just the best Mission of a FPS Campaign of all time.
Might do! I did purchase it.
Theres a small scene after the credits, that has Cooper's helmet display Morse Code, something along the lines of "Jack, are you there?"
Also, that "Calling Card" is an invite to the Apex Legends, something that actually happens after Titanfall 2, since Viper's kid is there.
Man you missed an era. Titanfall 2 to this day is still one of the best fps shooters of the past 15 years. Destiny combined from al its 10 years of dlc is its only rival
I know, I know. This was one of the reasons I started the channel, just with my little twist on it.
@1:59:32 you can notice BT's old paint scheme when his ocular systems aren't working.
that wrist mounted device reminded me of a forgotten game called "Singularity" by Raven Software, it revolved around a wrist mounted device called the TMD or Time Manipulation Device!
Bro i loved that game so so so much! Played like 4 times trough the whole.
I can't believe they edited out the smart core out almost every time 😂
It's like having that smart pistol but in minigun form. Don't need shoulder rockets with that.
"So we got Blisk and Slone left, oh there's Richtor too..."
**BBBZZZZZTT**
*Viper's on station*
I wasn't expecting him and it was awesome!! A proper moment!!
14:17 the mercenary took the guy's ear as a trophy/souvenir
50:35 This was an execution animation that you can use in the multiplayer.
