Awesome job on the exterior wash. I would have politely asked the individual if he had a business card (if not), then ask what dept he worked for. "Just in case anyone else from the city stopped by I could let them know that I already spoke to a city representative!"
“Can I wash my car at home? It is still permitted to wash your personal vehicle at home. However, the best alternative is to take your vehicle to a commercial car wash, where wash water is recycled and then directed to the sanitary sewer for treatment. If you must wash your vehicle at home, please try to limit the amount of soap and water used and, if possible, conduct the washing on a pervious surface where the water can soak in, such as on your lawn or gravel. It should be noted that charity car washes are prohibited in the City, unless the wash water is prevented from entering the storm drain system and receiving water bodies. The City can provide guidance as to how charities can conduct water friendly car washes. Mobile detailers may be used by residents providing they have a City of Del Mar business license and contain the wash water with berms or other methods, vacuum it up, and then dispose of it in an approved location, like the sanitary sewer.” Looks like washing is allowed, you just need a business license and need to trap the water and dispose of elsewhere. www.delmar.ca.us/FAQ.aspx?QID=232
@@BestInClassDetailing - Confirmed again! Pleasant upload, a great attitude, you you love what you're doing! About the whiner znd regulations : he got attracted because of the foam imo. As you said, the soap and water will never reach the see. Consider a different soap application or method with this client to avoid .. . Take care.
Verify what the Karen is saying.. if it's true.. adjust.... if its not true... have the info available (printout, website, emails, etc.) and show him next time... then tell him to pound sand nicely if you wish... these types of people can waste a lot of your time... but sometimes it's worth it, sometimes it isn't...
Very well said. I’m in the same state and know the regulations/ laws are different from city to city. However, I always keep a hard copy of my SDS’s on hand just in case something like this happens. This is something that is not spoken about in the detailing community.

Gotta show the final results!
@@doT03 it was pretty dark afterwards sorry about that. 😬
Do you have SDS’s for your products?
I wondered about this. In phoenix we are allowed to cash cars but have to dump on the grass and use bio degradable products.
Dump on the grass? Huh no one does this in phx
Could’ve been ceramic coated and the coating is possibly clogged.
Labo cosmetica Purifica ❤❤❤
@@gregory3227 he only drives that car once a week
