Ha! Excellent choice on that St Vincent de Paul also. It’s easily one of the best in the area. That aisle you found the watermelon trivets at…you can just sense that’s there’s good stuff buried in there but it’s so overwhelming! Next time check out Flamingo Haven and Riverside antique mall. Also, if you’ve never been to Traders World near Mason I highly suggest in a few weeks when it starts to warm up more. It’s a gold mine of antiques and vintage stuff at the outdoor booths. The Japanese necklace with the white jumper at the end there is a great combination. Personally, I wouldn't wear another necklace with it to protect it. That's one you could still rock in your last days.
As a kid who grew up in rural Southeastern Kentucky, Cincinnati was amazing and I moved there as soon as I could lol. I guess what is exciting or appealing is all relative to what you've got around.
That little cream satin thing you found in the first store is for packing your jewelry for travel. The thing in the middle unfastens on one end and you slide your rings on it.

Can we talk about the audacity for an average 80’s sweater to be (originally) priced at 48 in a random dusty midwestern ghost sorority house 😭💀 that’s a stretch even for here in Brooklyn. This is the kind of thing that gets me down about the surge in popularity of thrifting, people especially larger organizations think they have the right to charge whatever because they see the virality when they’re probably not even cleaning/mending let alone adding retail value to garments. It gives all of us that are subsistence collectors/sellers who survive off this and actually care (by upping the *value* not just the price) a bad name 🥲

I am born and raised in Cincinnati and also an avid thrifter. You went to some of the best thrift stores. The Mew to You is a hidden gem that I don’t think many people know about. Next time you come, go to the St Vinny’s on the west side of those are the 2 best locations with the best selection. St Vincent does amazing work around the city as well. If you're around Cincinnati again, the Norwood Salvation Army shop is an interesting one. I haven't been in a long time so I can't say what their stuff is like, but the shop itself is definitely Capital-V-Vintage. They're in the kind of place you definitely won't be able to find unless someone shows you where it is, and the clothes are even in an entirely different entrance not connected to the rest of the place at all.
If you're ever in Canton, you should check out Majestic Turnaround. Vintage mall inside of an old bowling alley. I HAVE spent an entire day in there. And Walkie Talkie is a great coffee shop down the road :)

Also, I would very much enjoy sending you a cool crochet piece to add to your wardrobe if you want one!
Hi from Poland! OMG i thought I know most of our glass designs and yet I'm not familiar with the vase that you got! Is there any branding? Is it from Huta Krosno perhaps? (I'm more a Huta Ząbkowice gal myself, but maybe someone else recognizes it!)

Never been the first spot but that huge sprawling St Vincent is my fave place and love their VHS selection…almost all of them are .25! Christmas and seasonal decor is incredible there. Amazing!
As a fellow Ohio thrift store hunter, another fun gem for a road trip is Madame Rosie's Boutique in Marblehead, OH. A quaint, lakeside thrift store with the COOLEST vintage finds. And the owner is an artist, she sells and hangs up her art. 10/10 recommend for thrift shopping and window shopping.

oh my gosh thank you!! adding this to the list!
My favorite secondhand furniture/decor shop in my small town is just in a 100 yr old house, with creaky uneven floors and I love it to pieces!
Spooky! That doily house kind of reminds me of the thrift mansion with the ghostly feels!! :)
You’re totally right!!!! 💛
My addition to the “characters that scared you as a child” tournament has gotta be the Rat guy from Psalty the Singing Songbook.. truely horrifying for my developing brain, many nightmares featured him🥴😂💀
If you're around Cincinnati again, the Norwood Salvation Army shop is an interesting one.
Omg this is bringing me back to my college days at UC! Went to New to you a couple of times and can say there are indeed many ghosts
If you're ever in Canton, you should check out Majestic Turnaround. Vintage mall inside of an old bowling alley. I HAVE spent an entire day in there. And Walkie Talkie is a great coffee shop down the road :)
Love this!!! Adding it to the list :)
The hand gesturing inside the Granny’s Girly Goodies package had me giggling 🤪💕
Kathleen, I recently discovered your channel and I need you to know you’re filling the hole that jenna marbles left in my heart. I love your content. Always happy to find another louie zong fan :)
My heart started to flutter when I saw the base with the frill…..and then the floral dress 🤤 amazing thrifts finds
Omg, this threw me back.
I found so many random cosplay supplies years ago at that specific thrift store. It's cool to see it still standing.
That little satin purse is for your jewellery I think. Your rings go onto that handle thingy. So cute!
Amaizing vídeo!! I’m IN LOVE with the pearl necklace, it’s so precious 😍
Glad I’m not the only person who cheers every time they pass the Hell Is Real sign
Good on you to get a dupe of the pencil cactus. Not only are the real ones toxic, but their sap can also cause temporary blindness! Fun! : )
eeeeek ain’t nobody got time for THAT! 🙃
I've had pencil cacti for 30 years and never had any problem with poison either for myself or my kitties
I've recently found several Ohio centered channels and it's so fun to vaguely recognize the things people are talking about!
Girl....I am in Lexington KY. I am always excited to go to Cinci!!!
I just wanted to say over the past couple weeks I’ve fallen down the Kathleen Illustrated TH-cam rabbit hole, and I’m glad to be here! Your videos are so cozy and delightful, I’ve really been enjoying having them on while I crochet. And you’ve definitely inspired me to be much more thoughtful about styling and approaching an outfit through a more considered lens. Thank you for your videos! Also, I would very much enjoy sending you a cool crochet piece to add to your wardrobe if you want one!
Aw!!! Welcome! I really appreciate this & would be honored. There’s absolutely no pressure! ⭐️💕
Flamingo Haven Antique Mall in Cincinnati is very fun. Not massive in terms of an antique "mall" but they did have a store cat last time I was there.
Ohio Valley Antique Mall on Dixie Highway between Springdale and Hamilton is the BEST in the area IMHO.
you had me at cat
Hi from Poland! OMG i thought I know most of our glass designs and yet I'm not familiar with the vase that you got! Is there any branding? Is it from Huta Krosno perhaps? (I'm more a Huta Ząbkowice gal myself, but maybe someone else recognizes it!)
When you were showing the flower vase, I reminded myself to look for a cute vase, and then you said it was handmade in Poland!? Like what? I'm from Poland! 🥹🤩 need to find this style of vases. Love you!
dawww! How cool! 💕⭐️
So beautiful!!! 💘I like the biwako pearls, it looks gorgeous🤩And the necklace fitted the white sweater well! So chic!💗💗💗
I love the frank lloyd wright shirt! And the whole rest of the video :)
Gonna have to try out some of those stores next time I'm in Cincy
OH and this is my first time seeing you!! I had to subscribe! You are my kind of people 😂🎉😊
I saw 5 clown dolls in my local Thrift shop today. I thought Kathleen would love these but I bet they’re haunted. 👻Hey stay stinky. ❤
Never been the first spot but that huge sprawling St Vincent is my fave place and love their VHS selection…almost all of them are .25! Christmas and seasonal decor is incredible there. Amazing!
4:40 -> I wasn't expecting to hear Louie Zong here ❤
As a fellow Ohio thrift store hunter, another fun gem for a road trip is Madame Rosie's Boutique in Marblehead, OH. A quaint, lakeside thrift store with the COOLEST vintage finds. And the owner is an artist, she sells and hangs up her art. 10/10 recommend for thrift shopping and window shopping.
watching your video on a Sunday evening is pure joy and a perfect end to a perfect day 🥰
I'm so glad you had a perfect day my beautiful friend
didnt think i could be more nostalgically brain blasted than when she panned over to the skyline i miss those chili fries so much!!! I live in washington now, and i am always dreaming of how great the cincy thrift stores are! next time try the salvation army on park ave in norwood~ beautiful old building
Have you been to Cambridge City over the Indiana border? It's literally just a town full of antique malls and thrift stores, highly recommend.
Also and maybe as good are Centerville, right down 40 from there and FULL of cool antique stores and a large "mall" of little booths. Also Richmond has a few good ones too. But the two C's are the best.....
So jelly of your seersucker gingham robe !!
I Just moved to Cincinnati, about to move into a new place, and needed a thrifting place to start. 😂 Thank you.
Not me going to Cincy next weekend for a wedding and wondering what stores to look for besides St Vincent...😊 Thank you for this !
@Anne-yh6yn I usually go to the one by my stepson's house, I just know it's the Bridgetown area, it's huge and I do well there but always like knowing about the little hole in the walls
I'm really needing to see you do both sides of the Scrap Exchange in Durham, NC. crazy place!
That dress is stunning on you!! I hope you wear it to the grocery store with your pearls!! I wear my pearls with my jeans!!
New 2 You is definitely one of the best! They have the sweetest staff too. I work next door and pop over a few times a month for the gems haha
I haven’t been to the weirdest thrift store, but I have been to the St. Vincent de Paul. I was very curious about the thrift store that you went to where you got the planter and the other gorgeous things! I’m all about trying new places!
My first time watching you, you are very clever, entertaining and fun!
@@lisab507 aw hi! Welcome & thanks for watchin!
Stores in houses are my fave! I've found some amazing ones in Utah, Colorado and Nevada in old houses and they are always so fun. Plus I always end up scoring at least one cool thing.
5:32 Look at the little spirit orbs you have floating around your head. Looks like you brought the ghosties back with you to your car. :D Yay, free ghosts!
I just found you. I live in Lima, two hours from Cincy. Maybe you already know, but Wapakoneta has a few thrift/antique stores that are fun to look through. At this point in my life, I like looking through the stores to see things I remember from my childhood.
The little silk bag thing is a travel jewelry holder/bag. So rings go on the long bit in the middle and it poppers on and off to take the rings off. :)
I’m so excited to finally find a video where I can GO TO ALL THESE THRIFT STORES!
Oh no, not the Quefe beads lmao....That's become an in joke in the Kandi/Decora makers community
The shout out to your mom 😅” you did your best “😂😂😂 killed me
