“Please don’t ruin my childhood.”
When a movie is self-aware.
Comrade 269 When the movie says what we’re thinking.
Me too
Too late fellas . Greed and more greed is the agenda also controlling minds
Comrade 269 yup :)
So, Tom Hanks is playing Forrest Gump and that gay guy from Philadelphia...
What a wide range he has. l hope they include a mixed couple. 0:50 Great job!!!
First. Only Tom Hanks could have played him. Second. When Roger's passed. A quarter of the world's politeness went also. The man was truly a good person.
More than a quarter.
TH doesn't look or sound like him.
Lowkey wanted Michael Keaton to do it cause he’s one of Mr. Rogers oldest friends and was an original cast member of his show too
My thoughts exactly! Can't wait to see it
I don't think he looks or really sounds the part. Yet I think he's the perfect choice seeing as Tom Hanks is also really wholesome!
For those who disliked this video, remember
Mr Rogers would be proud of you expressing your personal thought instead of going with the popular opinion
Hugh Mungus hey you stole my profile pic
What a burn for everyone that didn't like the video tho! Its like the ultimate killing with kindness!
@ola cola whoa, Tom Hanks? Link some evidence my man. That's a hefty accusation
@Christopher Adams OH SH*T!SHOTS FIRED!
He also would not cancel you for having a differing opinion.
I was bawling my eyes out when I saw this trailer. Mr. Rogers raised me. I loved him with all of my heart, he was basically my dad when my own father wasn’t there. And after my mom passed, I looked up to him even more when I was a teen, he will forever be my dad. I use to say “Hi, dad!” When he walked through that door. I’m 26 years old, a combat veteran for the U.S. Army, and I promise you that I will cry when I watch this movie about my dad...
❤
@@reginaldd.paperstacks194 God bless you. He touched me deeply too....
That ending scene was so perfect. A New York City subway packed with people in a dense metro area. And they all recognize him and start singing, including the police officers in the background. That one scene alone perfectly encapsulates the shared humanity within us all which Fred Rogers nurtured.
Felt the same way. Great scene. This movie actually looks pretty damn good!
I cried at that part cause I can actually feel mr rogers not being annoyed and fesling genuine to it. I dont know it just warmed my heart.
You have to wonder just how many times that scene happened for real in his career.
Robert Lombardo exactly
Liam s same
In this day and age, we need Mr. Rogers now more than ever.
Kris Vee that is so true I don’t think I could go see this movie I would be crying my eyes out I loved Mr Rodgers when I was a kid and I still am He helped me through a very hard time in my young life I still remember him saying I like you just the way you are that helped me in so many ways
Unfortunately today’s Mr Rogers would be a non-white, morbidly obese, transgendered, race baiting, SJW child molesting, feminist.
It would specialize in victimhood seeking, government benefits, sexualizing your child and destroying his/her mind and your mortals, dumbing down and turning your child against you.
Even though Mr Rogers was a liberal he is still my childhood hero.

If only mr Rogers would see all his neighbors grew up

Sg Cr or it is his way to see children since Jeffery Epstein is giving names and Tom is one. I’m not watching this and ruining my childhood of Mr. Rogers.
I think the world needs someone like Mr. Rogers again to remind us what we have forgotten.
Amen
We have that person, his name is Tom Hanks.
No d in his name but I agree
True superhero.
@Dorset Deb Go. Watch. The. 2018. Documentary.
0:33 that “hello neighbor” is so packed with kindness. Props to Tom Hanks

I’m glad this movie was made. I’m reminded of how kind I felt the world was during my childhood. I wasn’t full of rage or anxiety, while there was chaos in the world, the 80’s and 90’s just seemed calmer and more respectful.
I saw color but had a healthy curiosity about others, I wanted to learn, I was happy to teach, I welcomed connection because of shows like this. Mr. Rogers was a staple of good nature.
I cried during the trailer and feel very fortunate to grow up when I did.
so right
As did I growing up in the ‘90’s and 2000’s, myself, A Comment.

@@SocialDem86 - Especially when you're called a "Hater" for expressing your beliefs.
I wouldn't say it takes guts, but a particular kind of soul or spirit or strength. I'm both nihilistic and pessimistic and I admire more than anything people that can look at the world and remain kind and optimistic. I always think of Mr. Roger's "look for the helpers" story. I think it's one of the loveliest things I've ever heard and yet I still can't help the attitude that the helpers wouldn't have to be there if we weren't so terrible.
“Sometimes we have to ask for help. And that’s okay.” ♥️♥️♥️😭
Such a beautiful, pure soul.
THATS GREAT, NOW TRY FINDING PEOPLE WHO WILL GIVE YOU THAT HELP.

Tom Hanks is just about the only person that could play Mr. Rogers correctly
R.I.P Mr. Rogers
You will always be remembered as a wise man
I'm glad i got to be your neighbor all those years ago.
“The greatest thing that we can do, is to help somebody know, that they are loved, and Capable of loving” - Mr Rogers
Except that Fred didn't include the random commas or capital and then leave off the other punctuation (that at the end). :-P
The ending where everyone sang for him was so pure and beautiful 😭
That actually happened IRL; he had to take a subway, and a bunch of school kids sang the theme song to him!
@@ZilentZombie The one time I wish social media was a major thing back then.
It made me cry... to the point that I don't even know if I can handle watching the whole movie.
IRL on the BMT.
I thought that too , very touching
We need to learn how to handle our emotions again, Mr. Rogers! He was bullied as a child, so he turned his sad experiences into something beautiful. He was a kind soul, a preacher, and a lover of people. We need more like him!
You speaking about Trump?
He was honestly a lovely guy. No dirty history. He helped people, he had a testimony and was blessed by God to help and love others.
Lulu I was just shocked at how many bodies they found under his house after he passed away. I guess you really can’t know everyone. I’m kidding! My head would have exploded if that happened. I loved Mr Rogers as a kid. I even had a cardigan that I thought was the coolest thing ever 😂
@@jamesmaillet9727 Calm down. Lulu is referring to the social-media crazed world we live in now. Where many people feel the need to show emotions without thinking, just like they post on Instagram and Facebook without thinking.
Fake news...
He IS a fucking angel
I remember the day Mr. Rogers passed away. I specifically remember how upset one of my teachers was when I went to their class that day. Before class we always watched the news and when they talked about Mr. Roger's death he lost it and shed some tears. At the time I didn't know much about Mr. Rogers but I've watched some of his stuff since and man what an incredible guy. I hope wherever he is and whatever he may be doing he's happy. Regardless of what kind of person he might have been off camera he touched a lot of lives and for the better.

In this age of incivility, Fred Rogers represents what people could and should act like towards each other. I think and I hope he puts himself in the mindset that he will and wants to honor a good man by portraying him rather than trying to become him. Totally against the rules of acting but it’s an exception in this situation.
When it comes to stepping out of your typical roles (Comedy) and successfully step into the polar opposite (Realistic Drama) I’m convinced other than Robin Williams Tom Hanks is the only one.
One of my best memories as a kid back in the early 2000’s was watching this every afternoon with my grandma. She passed away last month. I watched the movie for the first time last night and it really helped me bring back good memories and get my head in the right place. She died in a similar way that the main character’s mother did and it helped heal a lot of pain for me.
Robin Williams would’ve loved the role😭❤️
Nick Perez he would have been perfect for the role.
@@happyhorse1028 Only if Mister Rogers had a tragic end. Robin was living a high life story with a no happy ending every movie he was in has that theme.

I grew up watching Mr. Rogers while it was still airing. I was born in 2003.
@clout chaser First of all many black people saw the show. If you ever watched it you'd know that he symbolized equality when he sat in the same tub of water as a black cop back when segregation was still around.
@clout chaser An individual does not speak for all. By we, you mean I.
@clout chaser Lmao one individual doesn't mean an entire race didn't see it. Seems like you need to watch some of it.
Why is everyone bringing politics up in the comment section, this is a movie on Mr. Rodgers, if you do talk about politics in the comment section please keep it respectful, we owe him at least that much
This movie is not about "Mr. Rodgers." Coincidentally, though, it _is_ about a man with a name very close to that: Mr. Fred _Rogers!_
Thank you, dumb moron @MikeJames6. It's not being the "spelling police" to say that a specific thing or name being referred to doesn't exist. And it isn't being "just ready to pounce," dumb-ass. The internet needs fewer jerk-face people like you who are just ready to pounce on someone just for helping a person out with some information. That really makes you sound helpful, douche bag.

@@camcamcam9507 he was. He was the host of an educational children's television show for many years. He taught kids about many things, morals, integrity, how to get along, respecting others, self esteem and much more. Since he was on TV for many years, he influenced the last 40-50 years of children's earliest memories. Those kids are now adults. I guarantee it. Anyone who grew up watching Mr. Rogers will be emotional while watching this. I went to see the documentary about him called Won't You Be My Neighbor back in May with my husband and a friend of mine. My husband, who didn't watch Mr. Rogers much growing up, commented "that was pretty good". My friend and I, on the other hand, both grew up watching Mr. Rogers during different eras of his career (she's much older than I am) and we were both tearing up throughout the whole movie. When they showed clips from the show, it just brought back so many memories from my childhood, things I'd forgotten about, and made me emotional in the most wonderful way. Plus, they told the back stories of certain aspects of the show that I had always wondered about as a child like the reason behind why he always announced out loud that he was feeding the fish. As a child, I always thought that it was a little odd that he'd announce "Well, it's time to feed the fish now". But now that I know the story behind it, I think it was really sweet.

He was also a Christian minister and believed he spreaded the Gospel in a way that people didn't know they were getting it.
@@jst1 The good kind, not the Evangelical or Trump kind.
@@jst1 as I recall he studied to be a priest but decided to work on a children's tv program at his last year of study. That was the time that tv started being a mainstream thing or something
@@HofTheStage He was an ordained Presbyterian minister
@@dan_hitchman007 No idea about the Trump kind" but Rogers was an Evangelical since the very word means those who follow the Bible. He even called himself an evangelist in an interview before.
I shed a tear every 5 mins of this movie
I have legit been binge watching all his episodes for like a week now because it just brings back such good memories of my childhood. Really excited for this movie!
Of course, it had to be Tom Hanks :)
He IS the nicest guy in Hollywood
I said that too 😁
@@SnoopyDoofie well, if they were to make a film around the urban myth that he was a sniper in Vietnam........... sure, why not?
A national treasure playing a national treasure!
Of course.
you know why you're bawling?.....because he made you think about how far we've come from our childhood
Sadly that's probably true....
Pretty profound statement btw...
I feel that man great observation
Good comment. True, and you made me cry more. X'D
I am 8 years old,i cried when I saw this, my aunt passed away 4 days before my birthday. And from life I have learned a lesson that I knew without mr Rogers…legends don’t die…they move to another neighborhood…the heaven neighborhood.
Mr. Rodger is an iconic character of mines growing up. No matter how I was, going out and play I always find a time to watch his shows. Love the show.
And in that moment it cost nothing to have a kind heart and politeness.
Mayhem W. it still doesn’t but people just forgot about it...
It costs you your pride, your comfort, and your safety. But it's worth the price.
Dayne Chastant how so?
And so shines a good deed in a weary world
When she said, “Please don’t ruin my childhood”!! I felt that!!! I was afraid to click on the video!!! 😳 Don’t want any bad seeds planted regarding Mr. Rogers!! 🥰 I couldn’t handle it!! Such a kind and warm spirit he had!!
Karen Winston watch the documentary. No bad seeds at all;) Just a good human being.
@@jhoang861 I've been looking for that documentary. Where can I find it?
Karen Winston Who said that? Didn’t hear it in the video.

I'm already in tears 😭 he was a great influence. I watched it everyday ... Trust me knowledge is power.
what you DO with knowledge is power!
The nicest man in Hollywood playing the nicest man on TV. Can't think of a better person to play Mr. Rogers. 😊
True facts
Two words

“It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood...”
*immediately starts crying*
Tom Hanks is gonna make everyone proud with this role
This is so heart-warming.
I've never seen an episode of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, but I really look forward to seeing this.
Tom Hanks is literally the perfect actor for this movie... it’s gonna be amazing
Yeah…especially for a guy who frequented Epstein’s island. Yeah…he is perfect. Has a lot of experience with minors!
The Holy Trinity
Mr. Rogers: love others
