As always one more excellent video. I have the Wancher version of this pen, which has a more green tone to it and gold trim and nib. I also got from Australia an ink converter that holds a very large amount of ink. Really love it! I have two more KOPs so depending on how long I have to write with one of them, then I change the converter for the large one. The pen is just gorgeous!
The pro-gear KoP is a really nice looking pen, reminds me a lot of the Pilot Custom Urushi as it's nice and chonky. Glad to hear you've only had good experiences with Sailor converters, only wish that I could say the same as I've had two of them fail on me, and both at inconvenient times... guess that might be why they add the cartridges as they are bullet proof as far as I've found.
Pro Gear KOPs have been some of my favorite pens for many years. I like the flat tops as they make the pen look a little less like a MB homage. The nibs are exceptional. My complaint with the converter is that it holds so little ink for such a wet pen (mine are all adjusted pretty wet). However, now there are aftermarket converters that quadruple the ink capacity via eye-droppering, so that is not such a big deal (but an added expense). Sailor should come out with a M/F nib for this pen and they would pick up a little more market share. I suppose there is something about the nib geometry that keeps them holding at no smaller than an "M" nib.
Completely agree about having the flat top look less like a Montblanc / cigar shaped pen. Yeah the capacity of the ink converter does appear to be smaller than that of say a regular international converter, I do find myself going through ink a lot quicker.
KoP a big grail pen for me. I'd go for the broad nib, the cigar shape and either raw Ebonite or Dark Green Urushi coated. Gold furniture. Sadly, the price is what the price is...
Thank you for another great review!
Beautiful pen! Nice ink match, too. 😍

Great video, as always, Dave! I love Sailor pens! Nice ink match with it too.
Thanks Liz, Sailor do make some great pens!

You're right, the flat ends of the Pro Gear King of Pen do make it look a lot like the Pilot Custom Urushi.

Is that a second hand pen? As it looks to my eye scratches on the cap under the clip and on the body between the nib and threads. 🤔
Brand new, although I've had it for several years before reviewing.
