The pen looks stunning! The nib looks minuscule compared to the size of the pen. I am going to buy either Danitrio or ShiZen, I do not like small nibs. This video was very helpful!
@@PenultimateDave I know. The Miyabi Empress is a VERY girthy pen the nib is long enough but compared to the pen looks too thin. Don't get me wrong THE EMPRESS is a GORGEOUS PEN under the right circumstances I would buy it too but before I buy one of those I would rather have a Danitrio Sho-Genkai in purple or something like that.
This has become one of the favorite pens in my collection. My one quibble is that when a pen hits four-figures, I would expect the threads to be lacquered as well. Now, let me convert all those measurements to American for you…😄
She’s a beauty. 😍

The Taccia Miyabi Empress has a number 8 size nib 😉
The original Taccia's had a #5 nib, the standard Miyabi has a #6 and the Miyabi Empress has a #8 size nib.

Nice video Dave!
Thanks Joe, glad you enjoyed it!
Spectacular piece, dave, congratulations for a worthy acquisition.
Many thanks!

Yeah I do think that's a common complaint about non Nakaya urushi pens, lack of lacquer on threads.
Could you please tell where you purchased this pen or put a link. I didn’t understand when you said the name of where you bought it. Thanks
I purchased it second hand from Chris at truphaeinc.com as he sometimes gets consignments to sell.
Thank you, and I appreciate your videos!
