    Apple oatmeal has been my favorite for fall time! It is just so warming and satiating :) I also like adding a little bit of vanilla extract to the oats and it smells incredible!

    Correction so that no one will get confused: You CAN produce vitamin D in the winter, but not as much, since there isn't as much sun. The body doesn't lose the function to convert the sunrays to vitamin D in the winter :)
    Also, vitamin K2 does NOT increase the absorption of vitamin D. Vitamin D increases the absorption of calcium, and vitamin K ensures that the calcium goes to the bones instead of clogging up the arteries. I noticed that Vivolife wrote on their page that K2 enhances absorption of D3 but that statement must've been written by a non-nutritionist.

      I think also because she lives in Sweden, there is so little sunlight there during the winter that that’s what she meant by the body not being able to produce vitamin d in the winter. It really depends on where you live. I’m in the southern US and it’s quite easy to get sunshine.

      @@sevareilly1419 I live in Sweden too so I get what she meant, but she made it sound as if the body completely loses the ability and some people who listens probably won't think further and just take what she says literally 😅

    Hi Alexandra thanks a lot for the video! I just wanted to ask about the flax seeds in the oats. Is it possible to acquire all the nutrients from the flax seeds even if they are not grounded? Ty x

    • @malinpegenius7945
      @malinpegenius7945 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Is it that inportant?! Is it not more inportant that we eat different things? I mean if you consider how to get The. Most nutrition from everything you eat you should eat WHOLE oats and not oats that we buy in a bag. We have already processed The oats. WHOLE oats you can only eat 1 tbs and you need to chew it really well like a horse. 🤪

    • @nicevery398
      @nicevery398 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@malinpegenius7945 I saw many recipes where they suggest to ground the flax seeds and in general online there are quite a few articles suggesting it is better ( like this for ex www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/nutrition-and-healthy-eating/expert-answers/flaxseed/faq-20058354 ) hence my question. In any case the ground flaxseeds would literally be the same flaxseeds you put in the oats but before you break them up a bit with a pestal or a mixer. In any case the remark on eating a variety of food is true but off topic under this comment

    • @jonathora
      @jonathora 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It's definitely recommended to ground them up before eating them because your body absorbs most of the nutrients and especially the Omega 3s which are already hard to obtain from a plant based diet, versus eating them whole they are most likely to just pass right through you undigested but you'll get the fibre benefits though.

    PSA: To my vegan brethren and sistren - almonds, avocados, kiwi's, butternut squash, and melon's are not vegan
    for the same reason as honey, they can’t exist without bees, as bees are used in an unnatural way.
    Also make sure to check how your bannas are transported as they are sprayed with a product derived from shrimp
    and crab shells to keep them fresh.
    - Hope you are all well

    Have you ever been overweight? It seems you use a lot of nut butters. I think I would gain weight with that. You were probably slim your whole life no matter what you ate? So then if you add plants and lots of fats you will stay slim. I’m not trying to be critical…I’m just saying many people can’t eat that much fat from nut butters and stay slim. You seem to have the body type that wouldn’t gain weight even if you ate McDonald’s.

    Why do vegans make oatmeal in the microwave? Takes 4-5 min on the stove.
    Imagine poor people watching this video. They must scratch their heads and ask themselves why rich people eat slave food.
