I have a 1991 mustang 5.0 I have owned it since new, I installed the 3 chamber flowmaster in 1994 so over 23 years the mufflers have had the same sound and there is zero rust, please keep in mind those mufflers have only seen one season of winter but the car is my daily driver in the spring summer and fall, love the sound, pretty quiet when putting the car through my neighbour hood in the early morning and a real tare your face off sound when the highway presents itself, I will always run flowmaster its such a beautiful gift you can give yourself that will outlast your expectations!

Technically the method flowmaster uses is just about as old as the sound absorption method used in glass pack mufflers, flowmaster just took the next logical step by refining the method to minimize power loss.
Modern glass packs/absorption mufflers have also made great strides. That said, I still prefer the chambered sound of flowmaster. I'll be putting a 60 series on my 00 celica gts here pretty soon along with a resonator that uses absorption so I'll have the best of both worlds.
I actually prefer long glasspacks with the guts burned out. But I'd take a good set of flowmasters in a heartbeat.
Although I love Flowmaster, the new FX mufflers are essentially 50 yr.old technology too

The part number should be etched on the outlet side of the muffler. If it is a dual outlet muffler the part number will be found on the inlet side instead. As far as I read and heard from others that flowmaster 70 is the quieter drone.. is it right? So, do you have zero drone for bolds with no cats on GMC Sierra 2013 crewcab?

And what if you have a turbocharged vehicle? I think those chambers would be detrimental since the idea is to extract and let it free flow as much as possible in a turbo car
+Darkmetamorphosis1 both Flowmaster's Delta Flow and Laminar Flow muffler designs are designed specifically to aid in exhaust gas scavenging, which increases exhaust velocity. We typically recommend more aggressive mufflers that can handle the added exhaust flow when used in a turbocharged application. I have a 1970 GMC with 40 series dump out directly under the cab, its loud! But sounds cool for a short time.
I have another truck just like it and would like a full length exhaust to the rear bumper. What are the QUIETEST mufflers for that?

Most people buy after market mufflers because they want them to be louder.
I have a Dodge Charger R/T Daytona with flowmaster outlaw catback I love the loud and deep pleasing tone but after awhile the kids and wife complain of the drone it doesn’t help my migraines either lol....I might switch too the super 44’s where it’s loud but not obnoxious
We're glad that you're happy with your Outlaw Cat-back. The Super 44 is one of our most popular mufflers and will be slightly tamer both in and out of the vehicle, but it's still considered an aggressive muffler. One option that you may want to consider is to add resonators in the rear of the vehicle. With the addition of resonators into the current exhaust system, you may notice a slight decrease in exterior tone but you should experience a large decrease in interior resonance (drone). i have gmc serria 2013. 4x4. crew cab. what is the best muffler i should use? i dont want it to be too loud inside the cab. and also i dont wanna lose my horse power. i wanna add horse power if its possible. but keep in mind i want to sound aggressive in the outside.

what would you recommend for a 01 ford excursion with a v10. I have always had dual exhaust on my street cars,and my trucks. What do you think I would need to run a single exhaust,I am going to have the catalytic converter removed,I want something like a 70 series. But the place I am having the work done told me I should go with a series 80.

The muffler that you choose will depend on your personal sound preferences. If you are looking for a mild sound, we offer the 70 Series. take them cats off man, I don't run cats, if you take off the cats and don't have you vehicle tune, Then I see were you can lose Low end torgue, Having your vehicle tune with no cats is Diffently Good

I have a 1987 Monte Carlo SS with the stock 305. I know the stock 305 is the weakest engine that i could use but I'm not rollin in dough. I just want to make it loud and sexy sounding (Like a muscle car is supposed to sound). I plan on putting true dual pipes on it but which flowmaster muffler should I use to make my presence known while keeping it a little quiet in the car?
I would go with the flomaster 40 series. Itll sound nice and aggressive but not too much drone inside the car. And if you ended up wanting louder you could always do a resonator delete
40 series delta flow all the way all the sound your looking fot but absolutely no interior drone

What is that muffler? It is a straight thru muffler.
It is a straight-through design. The FlowFX muffler is the newest muffler in our line-up of over 15 options! It has traditional straight-through internals along with a 409S stainless steel casing. This design allows the FlowFX to have a pretty moderate exhaust tone (borderline aggressive) yet fairly easy on the ears inside the cabin. I had the flow fx on my truck for about two months. Its a good muffler, i have deleted cats, so it droned out in the cab. It was a single in single out. I have some videos of it on my channel.
