Your video was very good except for one of the hex screws to remove the front cover required the removal of the front wheel, wheel bracket and the drive gear. (At least on my model) The drive gear is held with a split ring.
At 27:21 you skip past how the drive cable (PN 581952101) fits into the hole. I can't figure out how to clip it back in. Any advice on a diagram or can you make a short video?
DJ, those pulleys have a bearing cover that can be easily popped off with a knife or pick. They are dry with no grease! Put a little grease in them so they will last a lot longer!
Great video - As complete as it gets for pulley and belt replacement. I had to modify the bracket on mine since the part that screws into the deck broke off, which tore up 2 pulleys and snapped the belt..... had to drill a hole on the other end of the bracket and put another screw in. So far, everything is working again..... coz pushing the mower up a hill without AWD really s@cks!!!! Thank you again !! 😃
What we call those little wheels that spin the belt . My mover belt broken and found out 2 of those little wheels not spinning like in this video but Lowe’s don’t carry those parts . I want to order them online but don’t know if it is really called wheel ??
I have a similar lawn mower, and so much grass gets under that plastic cover that it rots and almost smells like cow dung. And the more you mow the lawn, the more grass goes into it, making it very heavy.
Moral of the story, never buy a self-propelled mower again... I'm facing this (and likely a stripped gear in one of my rear wheels - may just be easier to replace the thing... GREAT video though!
Sorry for your troubles. It definitely overcomplicates things. I ended up pushing this thing for the rest of the mowing season before I fixed it. It's nice when it works
Bad photography. You need 100 watts of light more. Maybe 200. Otherwise a pretty good explanation of the process. I will save the video for that reason alone.
Thanks. I'm in a new shop with a lot more light. Lighting and audio are always a struggle for me. I know a lot about mechanics/fabrication and practically nothing about videography.
It's not, he did it the hard way. No need to remove anything in the front other than the one long bolt than you can slip the belt off the pulley. No need at all to remove the plastic cover, tranny, or wheels at all. I've done quite a few of these with both the honda engines and the briggs engines
That seems to happen pretty regularly with these things. I guess its a maintenance item. most of us don't worry about it. we just mow our lawns until something stops working. Mine was only on its second year of mowing when this happened.
The easiest step by step instructions
Thank you.
Thank you so much for showing it close up with that little spring went.
Your welcome. It's a weird little spring
thanks, DJ, in middle of doing belt on mine, 5 or so years old, 1st belt. HUSQV makes GREAT mowers !!!!
@@jimjensen1414 glad I could help
Thanks so much for showing where the tension spring goes. When i was cleaning the area, it came off and had no idea where to reattach it.
Glad I could help

This was a huge help. What a terribly designed cover - oye ! Thank you!

You think that one is bad, try a newer craftsman/briggs and Stratton mower deck. 😂

Thanks for the video. I'm about to replace that belt and this helps me know what I'll be dealing with. By the way, your shop looks rather clean to me.
Happy I could help

About to do what you did. Thanks for letting me know what the process will be like.
Glad I could help.
Thank you for a very good demonstration.
Your welcome
What does the retainer washer look like that holds the blade
Not sure, I don't have the mower anymore
If you take off the two bolts for front housing it pops out enough so you don’t have to take off the whole axle

That is the drive belt and drive belt pulleys. You might want to order the whole set. There's three pulleys in a belt.
Thanks for help have to do this with mine soon
Your welcome. Glad I could help

Yep, mine did something similar. Just have to scrape it out.

Do not screw in oil dipstick on Hondas. Wipe just put in check oil. Then tighten her down
I didn't know that was the proper way. Thanks
Why not grease the wheels shafts
The pully doesn't spin in the shaft. The pully spins on the bearing. putting grease on the shaft wont do anything for you.

This is horrible!! It shouldn't be that hard to do.
It's definitely not a fun job.

Thanks! One of my pulleys just seized up yesterday and completely destroyed itself and the belt.
