I've been waiting for this video for ages. This film was visually gorgeous and undoubtedly has the best cinematography of any Batman film. It has a good chance of being nominated for an oscar.
Only thing this video is missing is the shot of Gotham at the beginning of the movie when he's riding his motorcycle around the city on the way home. This movie was beautiful and the cinematography was next level.
the "Feel" of this film is something that keeps coming back to me, yet I struggle to explain it. The movie just captured such a consistent mood throughout, which matches with the story and Gotham perfectly. So refreshing when many films are carbon-copies of one another, trying to capture the same feeling as Marvel movies for example (because they sell well), rather than sitting down and crafting an experience for the audience that you can't get anywhere else. I just feel like they did that so well here, and considering the screening I went to had some giggling hyenas from The Lion King in the back row, yet I still got drawn in to the vibe they created, it's pretty impressive.
I haven't felt so connected with a fictional character in a long time, until I saw this movie. Something about Pattinson's Batman that shows the human side of the Caped Crusader really got to me. The internal fight that he had throughout the film, the deductions that made him find out more about himself, and finally the symbol of hope that he gave to the city (despite him saying that the city is "beyond saving" but that he "has to try") really connected to me. Growing up, becoming an adult, going through many hardships to find a job, have stability with my family, and overall the "mask" that I have to "wear" whenever I'm outside with friends or peers is something that I can correlate with Pattinson's Batman. He' s a broken man, but through the movie, he grew and became not only the hero that the city deserves, but the hero that he deserves for himself. This is gonna be a movie that I will watch and watch over and over again.
This movie is definitely an tribute to se7en as it gives you feeling as if you are watching a David Fincher movie but the club scene and lift scene were a little bit different
Since I watched this film, I was waiting for its digital release so I can watch The Beauty Of The Batman and re-watch the film too. Your work is the finest when it comes to see the The Beauty Of Cinema. Thanks a lot for your sharing your art with us. The Batman is definitely a masterpiece. It's one of those few films in comic-book/superhero genre which brings the real CINEMA (the art) to this genre. Even though The Batman is not the best CBM (definitely top 5) but it's the best Batman film, ever and *probably, it is the most beautiful CBM of all time.*
@Moviepilotfan well, being in top 5 doesn't mean it's at #5 but it could be at any position from #2 to #5 (#1 is already TDK). Yeah, Logan and Into the Spider-Verse are in top 5. Others are Watchmen [Ultimate Cut] and Joker.
Might just be me but the lack of long, large scale aerial shots made the film feel claustrophobic at certain moments, as if those characters were trapped and had nowhere else to go... ...And that's exactly what it is!
@@drumbum3.142 It's just a better movie. It's more memorable, better acted (overall), has a tighter and more layered story, complex themes that it's able to properly establish, etc.
I think "The Batman" fully grasps the idea of who Batman is in the comics. A vengeful detective, whom strikes at night; you don't get that in Dark Knight - mainly because Dark Knight is more of a story about Joker than it is Batman. Dark Knight is an amazing movie, and it is only more memorable because of Joker, not Batman. Heath Ledger's performance made that movie, not Bale's. Bale is easily the best Bruce Wayne, but his Batman lacks. I think Pattinsons' Bruce Wayne lacks, but he is the definition of Batman, he based his lust for vengeance (being batman) on his parents' death, and he is a detective; both of which, are comic accurate. Not to mention, I personally think "The Batman" cinematography was better than "The Dark Knight" It is close however. It really is just an opinion, but I think "The Batman" is better by a hair.
One of the greatest batman films of all time and the best looking batman film in my opinion. So excited to see what else matt reeves does with this character in the future.
During the distribution of The Batman, I heard Batman fans claim that this umpteenth DC hero film was an outrage to the superhero. I've seen Batman (Burton), Snyder's batman, the Dark Knight trilogy, and I have to admit I was skeptical about the outcome of the about fan movie. The initial bias of many made this latest Batman movie of poor quality, but after reading the comics, I think it largely harks back to Miller's dark and gloomy atmospheres all the way to detective / investigative soul with Gordon and the justicier "Steel Wing" and for this reason he is one of the most loyal Batman to comics. After all, superheroes like Batman are very enigmatic and can be interpreted in various ways by the authors. To say that after the Dark Knight trilogy there will be no more equals is wrong. The character reforms, resizes in new contexts, including social ones. Great video as always! You always represent the essence of movies!
I watched yesterday and it's one of the best movies in terms of cinematography that I had seen in the last years, and an amazing story combined with a great soundtrack.
Greg Frasier's cinematography is some of the most masterful I've seen in any blockbuster movie. Every shot is so visually dynamic, purposeful and leaves you in awe of how he managed to make film that's mostly set at night so damn beautiful. One of the greatest cinematic experiences of my life...
This feels like an excellent music video for Something in the Way. Wonderful edit. Yes this film is a cinematic masterpiece probably the most visually beautiful blockbusters, rivals Blade Runner 2049 and Dune. I especially like the aesthetics, a very dystopian mix of Blade Runner cyberpunk and traditional Gothic and industrial architecture, probably the best live-action depiction of Gotham city (Yes I know a lot is shot in Liverpool)
From Slow camera movement, Color pallete, rain and darkness, batsuit, batmobile, dialougue, thrilling music, acting to plot. Everything done to perfection. You can really see the passion of people who worked on this masterpiece.
I was getting feeling of watching Harry Potter and deadly hallows because it's so dark and lack of light which is intentional was really well done but I would have loved to see more of the club scene type of lighting where Catwoman walks some of the best lighting and cinematography was in those shots
I can't express how grateful I am that you used Something In The Way for this video; the cinematography's tone is captured perfectly by that song. I hope this video blows up - you're amazing.
Greig Fraser is an above average cinematographer. Many criticize its overly dark and unnatural photography, but I find it charming. He gave The Batman the necessary tone of mystery, in addition to further highlighting the moments where the film is visually more prepotent. For personal reasons, I would prefer something visually more striking and exuberant, but not every film needs to be a Roger Deakins, like, beautiful landscape and silhouette frames at all times.
The Batman was one of the best theater experiences of my life. I was in awe the whole time. Watching it in IMAX was even better. Especially during the Bat-mobile scenes which made the whole theater I was in and the seats shake. It was a life changing experience, and it is the most beautiful Batman film I’ve ever seen. I have not one complaint
That dirty look it has, with the distortion yet the beauty of it. They did a masterful job with the cinematography and the creativity with those messed up lenses
That car from the smoke scene and the one where batman is leading everyone with the light is one of the best scene i have watched...every scene in this movie can be use as a wallpaper
Goosebumps all over. Fantastic work. The Batman is one of my all-time favorite films, with some of my favorite cinematography I’ve ever seen. Love how you captured the beautify of it with this music mate.

I have always appreciated the effort this channel puts into really showcasing The Beauty Of things. You really know how to choose those perfect shots
2:40 you can see the Riddler in the window of the building opposite to the iceberg lounge
Mat Reeves and the crew have done a incredible work on the movie ❤️i hope to see this style of cinematography in the upcoming Batman 2
My top 5 Batman Movies:
1. The Dark Knight
2. The Batman
3. Batman Begins
4. Batman 89
5. The Dark Knight Rises
i love batman returns. has that gothic tim burton feel in a wintery gotham setting. plus danny devito. so good.
So As I've Asked. Please Explain Why the dark knight is "Obviously" Superior ,?.
And if You'd Like I'll be Happy to Draw First and Go First.
At 2:26 i just realised all the bolts are dancing on the table becuase the speaker is next to it while Bruce is listening to Something in the way!
Between the flare shot, the fire, the hallway scene, and the police lights, Greig is so creative with his light sources.
I watched yesterday and it's one of the best movies in terms of cinematography that I had seen in the last years, and an amazing story combined with a great soundtrack.
1:16 - I love all the shots of Batman's boots in the movie.
I don't recall any shots of his feet in previous films.
This is a masterpiece!!
That cinematography.
The Batman has changed my life for some reason
This film deserves an Oscars for its finest cinematography
I haven't even watched the movie yet, but God its a visual masterpeice... this video is enough to convince me.
How was it? :D
I can see this all day!!
Probably the most beautiful and darkest looking movie of this modern cinema.
I love the club scenes in this movie. Really mayes you feel in this place. It was dark but you don't miss anything.
2:40 you can see Riddler in the left window. Watching... Waiting to strike...
This is so intense, I love it.
This video is like a trailer itself. Great work man!
Got goosebumps watching this. Amazing edit
This cinematography deserves an Oscar.
Another masterpiece, loved the musci syncing with the edit. You made me love this movie more than I already did, thank you!
That dirty look it has, with the distortion yet the beauty of it. They did a masterful job with the cinematography and the creativity with those messed up lenses
This isn’t just one of the most beautiful cbms it’s one of the best looking films period
Beautifully done.
I could not get over how GOOD this movie looks while watching it!!! 🦇
The only movie I ever saw in theaters twice in the same week. The best experience I ever had. Can’t wait for the blu ray.
Wow! The video is amazing! Give me chills! 👏👏👏
Best version of Gotham I've ever seen on the big screenm immense. Just heard The Batman 2 was pushed to 2026
That car from the smoke scene and the one where batman is leading everyone with the light is one of the best scene i have watched...every scene in this movie can be use as a wallpaper
Probably one of my favorite films of all time.
This movie's cinematography is so beautiful that you can take any scene and turn it into a wallpaper.
Goosebumps all over. Fantastic work. The Batman is one of my all-time favorite films, with some of my favorite cinematography I’ve ever seen. Love how you captured the beautify of it with this music mate.
Saved to favourites! Incredible job my friend.
The cinematography of this movie was amazing 😍
The video deserves more views and I can't wait to see this movie again!
This might be your best one yet, loved it
This is truly a beautiful film. These are my favorite visuals on a film since Blade Runner 2049.
Masterpiece. The most beautiful Batman film ever.
One of the most beautiful movies ever made
First Lion, then Dune, then this, Greig Fraser continues to impress me
Fun Fact: You can actually see the riddler at the top right corner of the frame at 2:40!
The movie is stunning, visually. Hats off to Greig Fraiser and team.
easily my favorite live action Batman film of all time and it isn't even particularly close tbh.
I speechless for this frame 1:40
Love your scenes selections, as always.
Perfect timing! I really loved the cinematography in this movie.
Thank you so much! This is wonderful! My heart is happy that this montage exists.
This is the best Greig Grazer’s cinematography.
The entire setup around the revving of the engine before the chase was so well done. I’ve never been more intimidated by a damn car before.
